BUTTERFLY KISSES CARDS | with Karen

When Doodlebug releases new product, I have been know to get pretty darn excited. And by excited, I mean gasping "ooooh" and "ahh" with a few squeals in there for good measure. I am always so excited by the new colour combinations and adorable icons that I just cannot help myself. Doodlebug makes great product!

The new Butterfly Kisses collection is no exception. So for my post today, I thought I would feature a couple of the products that got me squealing when I first saw them (and anyone on the design team can verify in case you don't believe me)!

This little card set is my first project up! As you can see, I am still a sucker for the Odds and Ends die cuts which so often make the primary focus of my cards.

But the first new product that had me squealing were the Puffy Words stickers. These sentiments are exactly what you would expect from Doodlebug - amazing fonts and colours - but PUFFY!!!! Yup - these are a card maker's dream but will also be perfect on other projects too!

Next up for the squeals were this round of Shakers. Now this isn't a brand new product type, but the particular designs for this collection knocked me over! While I didn't use them in a shaker design for these cards, I decided to glue them on individually on the front of the cards as an embellishment (actually, I glued a couple inside too). They are so easy to work with and I love the dimension they add. And those frogs and mushrooms - COME ON!!!! Adorable!

The last product I wanted to feature is the new 6X8 patterned paper. At first, I didn't notice the new size, but let me tell you how much I love it! I typically make standard A2 cards, so each sheet can get me two pieces of background paper now. The size also opens up the possibility of new embellishments like the tags that I cut out here to put the sentiments on. And this paper is going to be PERFECT for the new 6X8 albums we recently featured here on the blog. This is a HUGE winner for me.

You know, it might be silly to get as excited as I do with new product, but I think we could all use a little more joy in our lives right now. And Doodlebug always brightens my day. I hope these cards brighten yours! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

BUTTERFLY KISSES LOVE YOU LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna here today and I'm sharing another layout using the adorable Butterfly Kisses collection. This collection is beautiful and after looking through it, I knew I wanted to create a fun scene design along with a shaker using Hello Sunshine Doodle Cut along with the new Butterfly Kisses Shakers. Here's my page:

To start, I created my shaker first. I took out the Hello Sunshine Doodle Cut pack and die cut the single cloud to use for my shaker. I also die cut a few of the solid clouds using the other cloud dies as well as a piece of the white cardstock from the Coordinating Cardstock pack. To create my shaker, I first adhered a piece of acetate to the backside of it and then added some narrow foam tape right on top of the acetate. This created a little reservoir for my Shakers to go in. I carefully poured in the cute little butterflies and then sealed the shaker using a piece of vellum. I turned it over and my shaker was done. Easy peasy!

I then went through the 12x12 Patterned Papers and selected the Rainbow Skies paper as my base. To build my little scene, I trimmed out a small trip of Garden Party for my grass and then tore into the Bitty Blossoms paper for the flowers. I also grabbed my fringe scissors and cut into that Garden Party paper so that it resembled grass a bit more. So fun!

I embellished my little scene by pulling in a few Odds & Ends, Puffy Stickers as well as a few flowers from the Bits & Pieces pack. I love how cute it ended up being!

I ended up printing and trimming down my photo into a different shape and adhered it up in the "sky" portion of my layout. I layered my cloud shaker right on top of it and then layered the rest of my die cut clouds around it. I used a couple of phrases from the Puffy Stickers Words set and adhered them right on top of my photo.

I added in a few more smaller bits using more Puffy Stickers as well as the Bitty Bug and Garden Shape Sprinkles stickers. This page is so fun and whimsical.

Here's one last look:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way! I'll see you in my next post friends!

BUTTERFLY KISSES SWEETEST LAYOUT | with Tarrah

Hi creative friends, the gorgeous new Butterfly Kisses collection combines soft pastels with pops of vibrant colors, all complemented by intricate butterfly motifs, floral patterns, and whimsical touches. It's a perfect blend of lightness and elegance, lovely for documenting a special occasion, capturing moments of everyday beauty, or creating a whimsical layout for a loved one which is exactly what I have created today.

I printed my photo in the size of 5' x 7' and then cut it into a circle. I added my photo to a sheet of plain white cardstock using foam tape to pop it up off the page, creating some dimension and shadows. I trimmed down the white cardstock to approximately 11' x 11' and matted it to the 'B' side of the Butterfly Kisses paper from the Butterfly Kisses collection.

Around the photo, I added a mixture of butterflies from the Odds and Ends and Bits and Pieces ephemera packs and also some Doodle-pops too. These packs feature a mix of die-cut elements such as intricate butterflies, flowers, and decorative pieces, perfect for layering and adding interest. The Chit Chat pack includes adorable word phrases and sentiments. I added a sweet, suitable title at the top right of my photo.

For this particular design, I used the Butterfly Sprinkles to add delicate butterflies throughout the larger butterflies. The sprinkles added a bit of shimmer and shine, the smaller stickers helped balance the overall composition while keeping the whimsical, airy feel.

I punched some holes in the cardstock to create butterfly 'trails' and then hand-stitched the trails with different colored threads. I love how the hand stitching enhances the layout and adds some texture to the page.

I hope this post has inspired you to try out the Butterfly Kisses collection in your own projects. Whether you’re crafting a page for your scrapbook album, creating a greeting card, or designing a mini album, this collection will surely add a touch of magic to your creations. Happy creating!

BUTTERFLY KISSES 6x4 MINI ALBUM | with Niella

Hi crafty friends! Hope you had a blessed Easter with your family and friends! So happy to see you here today to see my latest project; a 6"x4" landscape mini album using the brand new adorable Butterfly Kisses collection.  You'll love creating all year long with this versatile collection; each piece is just as cute as each other! Be sure to read through to the end to see my video showcase which will show all the pages!

Firstly, say hi to this ultra cute Doodle-pop, Fun Guys! They have the sweetest faces and how cute are the itty bitty Shaker bits that I turned into flowers!
I love how the This & That title sticker "Love. This. Life" suits the cover so well.

The first page holds one of my favourite papers; Mushroom Meadow.  Paired against the gorgeous green cardstock from the coordinating cardstock pack,  it serves as a great spot for journaling, a mini picture or quote. I love to dot around Sprinkles and mini flowers!

I loved creating this album! Everything was so fun and special to put together.  The Chit Chats are fantastic and I loved to mix and match the Odds & Ends and Bits & Pieces ephemera together.  Every sweet face and character has a special place in this collection.  They're a family! Do you have a fave?

This next page has a fun tuck spot for your hidden journaling and photos! A great idea is to mount a photo on the front of a tag and then on the back write a memory of that photo or have a family member do that.  Letting family write notes and keeping them is something I found extra special to add to my memory keeping.  So often we are left with all the writing and note taking :-) How cute is this embroidery hoop piece and that cloud/rainbow paper Rainbow Skies is super sonic cute!

Have you tried using vellum on your projects before? Vellum is the perfect paper to use when you want to highlight or pop your clusters on top of busy patterned papers! For this page, I stitched it directly on top of the Sunny Days paper.  It's perfect!

Lastly, I loved keeping the stitch threads on it this album, it's add an extra texture to this mini album. Thank you again for visiting crafty crew! I hope you've found inspiration today! Please remember to tag us in our your Socials when you create with Doodlebug so we can all admire your creativity! We love seeing your creations. Until next time; doodle dee!   Enjoy the video showcase!

BUTTERFLY KISSES ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE LAYOUT | with Tya

Hi there, crafty friends! I'm so excited to share my latest design team project! This time around, I decided to do a layout featuring the stunning new Butterfly Kisses collection! The bright, pretty colors and whimsical icons were the perfect match for these sweet photos of my daughter. With bright florals, sunshine, and rainbows galore, this layout came together like a breath of fresh spring air - pure happiness on a page!

Here's a full look at my layout. I  started with the Garden Gingham paper as my base and then added a small border of Bubblegum Textured Cardstock and white cardstock to build my layout. I also added the soft blue Rainbow Skies paper behind the photos. The bright and cheerful Sunny Days paper, added across the layout, adds the perfect pop of sunshiny yellow. I had so much fun embellishing the layout using lots of ephemera from the Odds and Ends, Chit Chat, and Bits and Pieces packs!

Just look at this sweet corner of my layout- it's bursting with charm! I layered a mix of die cuts, twine, and Puffy Stickers on this section. For fun, I added a twine trail behind the beautiful butterfly. The "You're so Sweet" speech bubble and a cluster of happy flowers with a cute button center make this so fun! How adorable is the smiling little ladybug? She is from the Puffy Stickers as well. These are all the perfect touches to highlight my photos.

This top right corner is bursting with happiness! I tucked in the sweetest rainbow and sunshine from the Odds and Ends pack, layering them behind the photo for a playful, whimsical vibe. The bright blue button tied with twine adds a soft, handmade touch to the cloud, and a cheerful floral cluster paired with an orange butterfly brings in even more color and joy. I also added a darling little dragonfly Puffy Sticker to pull in some more dimension.. It's like a garden party right on the page!

This section of my layout brings all the sweetness together with the perfect title and journaling. I used the "absolutely adorable" die cuts from the Chit Chat as my main title - it couldn't be more fitting for these precious photos. Just below, I added some typewritten-style journaling strips to capture the heart of the moment, sharing how this everyday snapshot perfectly showcases my sweet girl. A scalloped floral border sticker from the This and  That Sticker Sheet and a small strip of green Textured Cardstock add playful texture and color, tying everything together with that signature Doodlebug charm!

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a closer look at my layout! I had such a wonderful time creating this page with the Butterfly Kisses collection - it truly is a breath of fresh air with its vibrant colors, happy icons, and sweet sentiments. I hope this project has inspired you to pick up this adorable collection and use it to capture and celebrate your own special memories. Happy Crafting!

BUTTERFLY KISSES HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOX | with Miguel

When I see items that remind me of Doodlebug products, I love to make little boxes to go with them! Today, I made this box using the cardboard technique and decorated it with the Butterfly Kisses collection.  The box holds a fun little gift!

I made a decoration with garden doors and added Odds & Ends to bring my little box to life. I love how the box looks!

I also used Puffy Words, the new Doodlebug product, to place the phrase Happy Birthday on the acetate. I love the result.

When you open the garden doors, you can see the gift inside the box: a flower-shaped glass
that perfectly matches the collection!. I placed mini jewels in the center of the flower to give it a
special touch.

I'm signing off as always, hoping you enjoy my work and find it inspiring! See you soon.

BUTTERFLY KISSES HELLO PRECIOUS GIRL LAYOUT | with Nathalie

The new Butterfly Kisses collection just landed at my doorstep, and I am so excited to use to document some of my most favorite memories.   This collection is bright, fun, and just gorgeous!  Let me show you what I created with it!

I love how this layout came together, it was so easy to mix and match pieces to bring the design to life with a touch of whimsy.

I had this idea of creating a sort of flap for the page.  So, I started by trimming the Rainbow Skies paper by about an inch, then I trimmed a corner of the Garden Gingham paper;  I scored about 1/4" from the long edge to form the triangular flap. I secured the back of the flap to the back of the paper before adhering it to the teal cardstock.

The small scalloped border under the flap helps to soften the edges.  I love the tags in the back of the Happy Thoughts paper, so I am using one of them to house my picture.  I made sure to punch a hole at the corner of the flap so thar I could tie the tag and flap together in place.

I chose to add two floral clusters to the left and right of the top of the tag.  My idea was to have similar elements so that they balance the page.   I also added a few sprinkles and butterfly stickers as if they were creating the bow on the tag.

To finish my page, I combined pieces of Chit Chat with the new Puffy Words to create my title at the bottom of the page.  I added a few stickers to bring the floral cluster look at at smaller scale to this end of the page.

I hope this inspires you to get creative with the new Butterfly Kisses collection!! XO

BUTTERFLY KISSES TAG FLIP MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

Butterfly Kisses just makes me happy.  I have fallen in love with the colors, the icons, the spring patterns... just everything!  I couldn't wait to play with it!  I decided to make a fun Tag Flip Mini Album to celebrate spring.  Take a peek...

I started by making my cover.  I cut 3 pieces of chipboard... 2 pieces  4.25" x 6.75" for the covers, and one 1.25"x 6.75" for the spine.  I arranged and glued them to a piece of the Garden Gingham plaid paper leaving about 0.5" around and wrapped to form my cover.  I covered the inside of the book with a piece of the bubblegum colored side of the Butterfly Kisses paper.

To decorate my cover, I added a rectangle of the Butterfly Kisses paper to the front, and lots of butterflies and flowers from the Bits & Pieces pack.  I used some Beetle Black Alphabet Soup letters and a Chit Chat piece for my title.

Inside the front cover I added a photo spot, with some Odds & Ends and a Chit Chat speech bubble.  On the right side, I punched a hole about 0.75" down and in the center to hold my book ring/ tags.

The Happy Thoughts Tag paper is one of my favorites!  I cut all six tags from the paper to use as the pages of my book.  I stitched coordinating papers to the back of each tag using my sewing machine.  I also cut a few smaller tags using a die from my stash to mix it up a little.  Then came the fun part... decorating the pages/tags!

For my photo spots, I used some stitched rectangle and square dies from my stash.  I added some tabs to some of the pages using a tab punch.  It was fun decorating all the pages!  I used Chit Chats, Odds & Ends, This & That Stickers, Icon Stickers, Puffy Icon Stickers and the new Puffy Words!  And let's not forget all the fun shaped sprinkles!

I also traced one of the tags onto the Butterfly Kisses Heavyweight Acetate and cut it to make another fun page.  I added rectangle photo spots to each side and some This & That Sticker words.  I lined them up  so that they matched on both sides!

I love how this turned out!  It's all ready for my spring photos!  I created a video short flip through, I always think it's more fun to see things in action!

That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!
