SUMMER FUN DISC BOUND MINI ALBUM | with Niella

Hi crafty friends! Nice to see you all pop by! Today I am so happy to show you my latest Summer Fun project which is a disc bound 6x4 hard cover mini album! It is full to the brim of hidden tuck spots, cute icons and fun areas to memory keep!  Stay tuned to see my video showcase of my mini album which shows all the pages and dimension!

For the focal point on the front over, I've added the sweet is the Diggin' Summer doodle-pop!  I've added some foam adhesive underneath to bring it forward a touch more and it looks so great! To add more dimension, I've added some glitter dust around the ledges and added some Shaker Bitty Bubbles, sweet!

I've loved re-visiting and re-designing with the Summer Fun collection.  Every pattern is adorable and the sea creatures and fun icons make putting together easy! I've just used whatever piece and pattern I've felt and in every Doodlebug collection there is so much to play around with.  From the darling papers to the happy stickers, whatever you pull out to create with is so cute!

To add special touches is my jam! I love to add sewing machine stitching on nearly every page.  The strands of thread add that whimsy touch.  I've enjoyed creating the front and back of every page and cannot wait to fill it with all my families memories.  This would also be such a darling gift.  You can create a mini then package up some more bits and pieces and gift it all together in a basket.  That would be such a well received treasure.

SUMMER FUN POPSICLE GIFT CARD HOLDERS | with Karen

This has been my summer of the popsicle! I have two teenage daughters and neither of them were huge fans of popsicles growing up. So popsicles were not really something I had around the house for the last number of years. But this summer I remembered that I love popsicles! I decided to buy a box just for me to enjoy over the last few weeks. And boy, have I enjoyed them. Popsicles are amazing!

 

So for my project this week, I wanted to honour popsicles! I decided to use the iconic shape to create some gift card holders. Made with the amazing 12x12 patterned sheets from the Summer Fun collection in Pink Paradise, Beach Towel and Gull Friends, these little holders feature a slide out part that hold any standard gift card.

 

Pull on the little popsicle stick, made from some 12x12 Textured cardstock in Vanilla and the gift card slides out. This textured cardstock was perfect for the stick as it has an amazing texture that gives a wood-like feel!

  

Finally, I topped them off with some tiny little Shape Sprinkles from the Island Tropics pack. I think they give the illusion of little sprinkles sitting on top of each one.

  

As moms, I think sometimes we don't always do nice things for ourselves. So whether you love popsicles or not, go do something nice just for you today. You deserve it! Thanks for stopping by!

SUMMER FUN - SUMMER MINI ALBUM | with Miguel

I'm ready to document my summer—and what better way than with a beautiful mini-album using Doodlebug’s gorgeous Summer Fun collection! For this project, I used a circular die to create a layered cover featuring my favorite Catch a Wave heavyweight acetate sheet!

To decorate my cover, I added Odds & Ends and Doodle Pops which are the perfect size for these pieces.  I  applied the title using puffy word stickers, and added some sparkle with shaped sprinkles.

For the inside pages, I used various sheet designs, and on some pages, I added small inserts to increase photo capacity, decorating them with odds and ends and mini icons from the collection.

 

I finished my mini-album by binding it with the Cinch, I really loved this deconstructed style; it looks quite different from a traditional album. Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

SUMMER FUN MY FAVORITE MOVIE LAYOUT | with Tarrah

When a scrapbook collection is filled with colorful fish, sea creatures, and beachy vibes, turning it into a Finding Nemo-inspired layout is simply meant to be! Finding Nemo is one my all time favorite animated movies and when I started creating this page, I immediately knew that the bright colors and adorable ocean-themed icons in the Summer Fun Collection would be perfect for bringing the underwater adventure to life.

The focal point of the layout is a photo of the Finding Nemo movie cover, surrounded by a sea of cheerful embellishments that capture the fun and whimsy of the beloved film. The background is made up of the 2x Catch A Wave acetate sheets sewed together to create a shaker pocket, I added the fishies in and then sewed the top closed. I love how this created the perfect underwater setting, while the embossed wave texture mimics the movement of the ocean.

Since Finding Nemo takes place beneath the sea, I wanted the whole layout to feel like an underwater adventure. I did add a frame over the top of the acetate using the Polka Dot Bikini paper. The Summer Fun collection includes so many elements from the Bits & Pieces and Odds & Ends packs that fit perfectly with the movie's ocean theme. Schools of colorful fish swimming across the page instantly bring Nemo and his underwater friends to mind. The adorable sea turtle is a sweet nod to Crush and Squirt as they ride the East Australian Current, while the stingray reminds me of Mr. Ray, Nemo's enthusiastic schoolteacher. Even the jellyfish embellishment references one of the movie's most memorable scenes as Marlin and Dory make their way through a field of jellyfish.

To tie everything back to the film, I added a sentiment that says "Just Keep Swimming", one of Dory's most famous and beloved quotes. It's the perfect finishing touch and instantly connects all of the ocean-inspired elements to the movie. The bold orange title, "My Favourite Movie," using the Tangerine Alphabet Soup puffy stickers, helps draw attention to the movie poster while balancing the bright blues and aquas throughout the design.

I love how easy it is to adapt themed collections to document favorite movies, books, and family traditions. The Summer Fun collection may have been designed with beach days and vacations in mind, but its adorable sea-life icons make it a perfect choice for celebrating the underwater world of Finding Nemo.

SUMMER FUN DOODLE POP CARDS | with Kathy

The doodle-pops in the Summer Fun collection are some of the cutest ever!  I thought that they deserved to be the focus of some fun summery cards.  Take a peek...

I love adding layers and dimension to cards, it makes them so much more interesting!  For both my cards I started with a 4.25" x 5.5" base.  I cut an oval in the center and added a layer of the same papers in the center to give it a bit of dimension.

My first card features the cute flora flamingo doodle-pop.  I added him to the center, along with the coordinating flowers.  I also added some of the leaves from the Icons Sticker Sheet and some puffy icon sticker flowers.  The sentiment was cut from the flamazing flock double sided cardstock.  Here's a close up...

My second card features the most adorable sam & sally seahorse doodle pops!  I mean really, could they be any sweeter?  I placed them on a background of the waves side of the water babies double sided cardstock.    I added the fishies from the doodle-pop, and die cut the sand and leaves using the Aloha and Adora-bowl doodle cuts.  I completed it with some summer splash shaped sprinkles, a little starfish from the puffy icon stickers and another sentiment cut from the flamazing flock cardstock.

SUMMER FUN CASCADING POCKET MINI | with Conny

Hello crafty friends! It’s Conny here from The Daily Life of Creativity, and we’re playing with the Summer Fun Collection once again!

Today we’re creating this fun little cascading pocket mini album. It has six pockets that get smaller as you work your way down, creating a fun layered look. You can add photos, journaling, or little memories inside each pocket.

Let's get started!

I started with a piece of cardstock measuring 5” x 8”, scored at ½” on the 8” side and ½” on both sides of the 5” side. This created the base. I added a piece of cardstock measuring 4” x 7½” to the front of the base.

Next I created the cascading pockets, Here are the pieces I cut for to make them:

• 7½” x 4” finished, cut 5” x 8”

• 6½” x 4” finished,  cut 5” x 7”

• 5½” x 4” finished, cut 5” x 6”

• 4½” x 4” finished , cut 5” x 5”

• 4” x 4” finished , cut 5” x 4½”

• 3” x 4” finished, cut 5” x 3½”. 

On each piece I scored ½” from both sides of the 5” width, and scored ½” at the end of the length.

I folded along thescore lines, trimmed away the corners, and adhered the pockets one on top of the other, starting with the largest and working down to the smallest.

For each pocket, I used a circle punch along the front edge to create a little thumb notch. This makes it easier to pull out your photo mats or cards. I decorated the pockets with pieces from the Summer Fun Collection, including the adorable toucan, turtle, seagull, and crab from the Odds & Ends. I also added some of the Puffy Icon Words, including Say Cheese, Hello, and Time to Relax, along with the fun Beach Hair. Don’t Care. phrase.

And that’s it! A simple little cascading pocket album that’s perfect for adding summer photos, journaling, and memories!  Happy crafting!

SUMMER FUN FINTASTIC PAGE | with Traci

Hello crafty girls! Traci here and today, I have a 12x12 scrapbook layout that's "fin-tastic" for some beach, pool, fishing, and warm weather memories. I designed it with the colorful Summer Fun Collection and used one of its cute 🐟 fish patterns as inspiration. Take a look ...

I chose the 12x12 rainbow stripe Beach Towel print as the base and layered lily white cardstock on top. Then, I cut five 2" strips out of the pattern papers titled Gull Friends, Summer Fun, Pink Paradise, Water Babies, and Seashells by the Seashore. I varied their lengths for interest, then punched small fish shapes out using an EK Success Paper Shaper. Next, I added foam squares to the fish and popped them up for dimension.

Above, I added two 3x4 inch photo mats cut from the polka dot Gull Friends paper. To embellish, I added the sun 🌞 die cut from the Odds & Ends and the adorable toucan bird from the Tropical Trio Doodle-pops. I placed him along the top edge as if he was just hangin' out on the photo mat.

At the bottom, I cut the 12x12 Summer School paper into a wave shape and adhered it to the page. Then, I added the Donnie Dolphin Doodle-pops and a few of his enamel water drops. So cute and such a fun name.  

Here, I added the "you're" and "fin-tastic" stickers from the Puffy Words. I love the little bit of shine and dimension they add, along with the Doodle-pops and the popped-up fish.
