Spring is in the air! And what better way to celebrate it than with all the colors of the rainbow! Today I have a single page layout for you using the colorful Over the Rainbow collection. This collection sits at #3 on my list of all-time favorite Doodlebug lines! I started out thinking I was going to make a shadowbox using the Odds and Ends and then I remembered the rainbow picture my husband took the first week we were in our house. He had retired from the Air Force and this was our last move back home! While working in the garage a HUGE rainbow appeared and my son and I came out to look and he snapped this picture.
For my base I started out with the Cherry Floral/Graph petite print. I tore a sheet or white Doodlebug cardstock for the next layer, and the finally the cloud pattern paper from the 12x12 collection kit.
For the layout I built a little scene using pieces from the Odds and Ends pack. I layered them using thin foam tape so when this layout goes in my album it won't make the page protector bulge too much.
Finally, I added my journaling on the little notebook piece from the Bits and Pieces kit and left a pocket in the photo matting to slide it in. I added the Lucky Us title pieces from the Chit Chat and we're done!

Hey guys! Traci here and today, I'm sharing a really sweet scrapbook that I made with the colorful and, oh so happy ... Over the Rainbow Collection! I designed the mini album in a circle shape with a flower in the center and little cut-out petals, so ... lots of cute pattern papers could show through. What a fun project for spring!
I created this with my new white Acrylic Circle Petal Album, but you could replicate the album with white cardstock or chipboard. The center of the cover is solid so I added the Spring Garden print, the Gnome Sweet Gnome paper, and the scalloped sticker from the This & That sheet. How adorable is that little cloud?!
On the back, you can really see the album's shape and the cutouts. I added the rainbow from the Odds & Ends, which fit perfectly in the circle. Then, I chose the Happy die cut from the Chit Chat and the Family sticker from the This & That.
Inside, I added white card stock pages. Since this first page shows through the front cover, I created another flower using circle punches for the petals, lots of pretty 6x6 prints, and white paper for the center photo mat.
Next, I covered the rest of the pages in 12x12 and 6x6 patterned papers. On the page above, I added the rainbow scallop border sticker (This & That), a rainbow die cut (Odds & Ends), and 2 sweet little clouds from the puffy stickers. They're so cute!
Then, I created a flippie with a 3x4 card from the 12x12 Ladybug Picnic print. I added the Memories sticker on the front and the fun 6x6 Sprinkles of Color paper inside. What a pretty spot for 2 of your favorite photos.
I love adding pockets to my albums, so I cut one of the circle pages in half to create this one. I added the scalloped border sticker to the top edge, the Memories and ladybug die cuts, and a few puffy hearts.
Inside the pocket, I tucked in a journaling card from the 12x12 Mini Mushrooms print and some adorable tags from the 12x12 Just For You paper. You could use the back side of these for journaling or extra photos.
Here's a close-up of another fun page. I added the fence die cut from the Odds & Ends, then layered some flower shape sprinkles on top. I love the hints of shine the enamel shapes add throughout the album.
I had so much fun making this sweet little scrapbook and I love the Over the Rainbow Collection! With its bright happy colors and super cute images ... this collection is sure to brighten your day.
If you'd like to recreate this scrapbook, the acrylic album and instructions are available in my shop today. Thanks for stopping by the blog and have a great day! 😊
Hello friends! Today, I’m excited to share a 12x12 layout featuring the Over the Rainbow collection. This collection is packed with happy colors, adorable icons, and the perfect mix of patterns to bring a layout to life!
I started with a white 12x12 base to keep things fresh and bright. To the left side, I added a bold strip of the colorful stripe side of the Over the Rainbow paper to create a fun backdrop. To add extra detail, I used border stickers from the This and That sticker sheet on both sides of the rainbow paper, framing it beautifully.
Next, I created three photo mats, layering patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad behind each one to add depth and dimension. Once my photos were in place, I reached for the large Chit Chat title pieces, combining them to create my "Happy Memories" title.
The final touches are always my favorite part! I added floral Bits & Pieces, puffy icon stickers, and Sprinkles to bring the layout together. These little details add so much texture and personality!
I absolutely love how this layout turned out, it’s bright, happy, and full of Over the Rainbow charm! I hope this inspires you to create something colorful and fun today.
In my humble opinion, one of the best assignments we are given on the Doodlebug team is to revisit a collection we haven't featured for a bit. It is so much fun because you see it with a new set of eyes and it's like discovering the magic all over again!
Now this might sound funny, but one of the things I think I overlooked the last time I worked with collection is just how happy it really is. I mean, the colours alone are enough to brighten up any day. So I decided that on these gloomy days of spring, celebrating the happy with a new card set was just what I would do.
Now, if you have seen any projects I have done in the past, you'll know that I am all about the layers. But one of the amazing things about Over The Rainbow is that because the colours and patterns are so bold, layering actually seems to take away from the designs. I had these cards layered with all sorts of tags and cuties from the Odds and Ends and Chit Chat packs, but as I worked with the design, I kept peeling them back, one by one.
The funny part was that as I would get them down to a fairly simple design, I would try layering them up again, only to find myself peeling things back again. These cards, while they look simple, took me FOREVER to finalize!
But I really love them the way they are. The white border around the dies cuts creates just enough contrast to make them pop without competing with the amazing patterns and colours on the 6x6 paper I used for the bases.
A few strategically placed mini jewels on each design was all they needed for a little extra umph!
At the end of the day, these cards make me smile and I am so glad that I got to dig in and pull out all the fun rainbow aspects of this collection. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
Hey friends! Brianna here today and the Over The Rainbow collection is one of my favorites so I was so happy to be able to create with it again! My son and his girlfriend went to Universal Studios last week and they took a photo with Poppy from the movie Trolls. I knew it would be the perfect photo to use with this collection. Here's my page:
This collection is so bright and happy with beautiful rainbows, so I decided to create a fun mixed media background using all of the colors! I pulled out coordinating paint sprays from Shimmerz Paints and sprayed them in rainbow order in a circle design on the Lily White cardstock from the coordinating cardstock pack.
I then set my background aside to dry and pulled out the Petite Print Assortment Paper Pack along with one of my floral punches. I punched out the flower twice on each paper so that I could be able to display both sides. These papers look so beautiful punched out!! I adhered all of them in that same circle design directly onto the coordinating spray color. I then ran it through my sewing machine several times to give my wreath that finished look.
I chose this adorable cloud piece as my title and adhered it on the right side of my wreath. I also tucked in the Hello Sunshine Doodle-Pop right above it and I love how they look together.
I decided to embellish tone on tone so I went through the Odds & Ends, Puffy Stickers and Spring Garden Shape Sprinkles and adhered each piece to their respective colors. So cute!
I matted my photo using the 6x6 Paper Pad and put it on the left side of my wreath, directly across from my title.
Here's one last look at this happy page. I love the background and all of the small details. This collection is adorable.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way! It was a lot of fun to breakout this paper punch and make some shapes with those gorgeous prints!
