Spring Garden Collection: Hello Sunshine Layout by Melinda

Can you believe how fast we are flying through the year with another month almost over and yet I seem to be lagging behind in the day to day running of my life. Time needs to slow down... especially time procrastinating over layout design. I tend to sit and stare at my craft mat, draw little sketches, rummage through product, re-arrange my tools, get another drink, stand on my head, pray for lightning to strike with a bright idea! Sometimes the brain just doesn't want to play so I head to Pinterest for inspiration and quite often I will find myself scrolling through cakes... yes, it's possible I'm hungry too!

Isn't this cake just the prettiest thing? Actually, to be honest, I didn't really see the cake for what it was becuase I was too busy eyeing off the design. And then the lightning struck and I had a plan.

After drawing up a quick sketch I sectioned my layout into four and recreated the floral and sprinkle design for each photo. I decided to go with a monochromatic theme for each pic as there was enough flowers on the 'Spring Garden - Icon' sheet to accommodate four different colours.

Another nice surprise from the Spring Garden collection was the alpha stickers added to the icon sheet... however I will admit that I changed the heading twice before I settled on 'Hello Sunshine'.

Supplies:
- Spring Garden Icons Stickers
- Spring Garden This n That Stickers
- Blossoms Sweet Rolls Mini Icon Stickers
- Spring Garden Patterned Paper
- Fruit Stripe Patterned Paper
- Bright Assorted Matte Sprinkles

Thanks for stopping by today and may you enjoy the last day of March for 2016.

Spring Garden Collection: There is Always Something to be.... Layout by Monique

Hello Doodlebug fans! Today I'm sharing a Disney layout using Doodlebug's Spring Garden collection. Last April, when my daughter was in Louisiana on an Exchange year she had a school trip to Disney World, which was a dream come true. As she wanted me to scrap lots of her memories she came home with hundreds of photos, like these two of her and Daisy. I was so happy the colors of the photos matched this collection to a tee!

As I couldn't decide which papers to use, I chose a design for which I needed lots of different papers and came up with these triangles. For the title I used my Silhouette Cameo and beneath it I adhered two strips of journaling, followed by two strips of fancy frills and an adorable little ladybug.

As this trip was definitely something to be thankful for I chose this journaling card, which I decorated with a few stickers, like for example "mr. sun doodle-pop":

In the bottom right corner I added some cardstock flower stickers and another ladybug sprinkle:

How I love this collection! Hope you do too!

Thank you so much for stopping by Doodlebug's blog to take a peek at my project.
Have a fabulous day!

xoxo
Monique

Spring Garden Collection: Hello Sunshine Layout by Mendi

Hello Doodlebugs!  It's Mendi here today with a layout using Doodlebug's new Spring Garden collection.   When I decided upon these photos I thought it would be fun to line them all up in a row, but I needed a vertical design that would balance the strong horizontal element of my photos.  A 1-3/8" circle punch was the perfect tool to create a grid to fill the space I had with all the fun prints and embellishments from this collection!

To add some interest and a little bit of texture I popped some of the circles up with a slightly smaller circle die-cut from coaster board.  I then popped up the flower stickers with foam tape which is slightly thicker. Using the two different materials gave my page some nice variation.

When I was nearly done I realized I hadn't left myself a good place to record a little journaling so I got creative and printed it onto a thin strip of patterned paper, punched the edge with a border punch and added it as a decorative border under my photos.  I love how it ties in the aqua color of the "hello" word in my title and solved my little predicament at the same time!

I hope I've inspired you to pull out your circle punch or dies to create a scrapbook page of your own.  This would be an awesome design for Doodlebug's 6x6 paper pads!  :)

Spring Garden Collection: Bright Colored Spring Planner Pages by Kimberly

Hi Doodlebug friends! Aren't you loving Spring? I seriously can't stop using the Spring Garden collection from Doodlebug. It's just so bright and happy. Full of love for it. My main project is my memory journal, which is where I jot down a few sentences everey night as a way to remember my day.

A look at just the layout:

I love it (except for that pale pink pen I used... ack). I try to include a photo or meme or something every week in my memory journal. This week I was lucky because my principal took a photo of me teaching and included it in our staff newsletter. I never get photos of myself teaching (because I'm usually the one taking photos) and I knew when I saw it I was going to have to print it.

And here are some details of all the adorable Doodlebug products I used on this project:

Spring Garden Collection: Lucy Sunshine Layout by Christine

I'm so happy that spring is almost here!  Christine joining you today and playing with the Spring Garden collection got me right in the mood for flowers and sunshine and all the fun that comes with Spring!  As a mom to four kids I am always on the lookout for ways to knock out a stack of pictures quickly.  But I also want my layouts to look good and tell the story I want to share.  Enter the polaroid paper from the Spring Garden collection.  A great way to get a whole bunch of those little pictures onto a layout in a pretty and trendy setup!

I keep a stack of pictures organized for each of my kids and pull from it when I am ready to tell the story.  But here's the deal - there are a lot of cute faces that have already had the story told!  There are also a lot of pictures that the faces are just too small to work on their own layout.  This paper was the perfect solution.  I just went through my stack and started pulling out pictures that I knew would fit.  I had to be able to fit the face in a 1 1/4" X 1 1/8".  I couldn't believe how many I had that worked!  So I sorted through and used only ones she was smiling in and only ones that had decent lighting.

Initially I filled up every space but that was a little overwhelming.  I ended up leaving an empty one on each line and then filling those with Doodle-Pops, Fancy Frills, Sprinkles, and Cardstock Stickers!  I cut the pictures to the size I did so that I could leave some color in the background of each.  I think that adds to the spring feel don't you!?!

I could have easily have filled the whole paper with pictures but I knew I wanted someplace for a title.  So I added a monochromatic patterned paper to the top of the page.  I wanted to use the word "sunshine" because I thought it fit with her smile!  On top of the word I added a sunshine on top of one of the die cut flowers.  I then used Chunky Doodle Twine and Fancy Frills to create sun rays.

I surrounded the sunshine with my daughter's name spelled out in the Chippers Alphabet Stickers. I also added some cardstock stickers and sprinkles to the title to add a bit more color.

So who's ready to get a whole bunch of pictures on a layout now?!?

Bunnyville Collection: Easter Planner Pages by Kimberly Lund

Hi Doodlebug friends! Easter has always been my favorite holiday. I love the promise of spring, warmer weather and breaking out my flip flops. For my Bunnyville project, I dug up some of my all time favorite Easter pictures to create a scrappy planner spread.

A look at just the layout:

I took these pictures using a black blanket as a backdrop years ago and they're still some of my favorite Spring-y pictures. I used the Bunnyville collection for this one and is it not the most adorable collection you've seen?

And here are some details of all the adorable Doodlebug products I used on this project:

I call this my scrappy planner because the left side is a few details from the day and the right gets pictures and embellishments. Well, there's embellishments everywhere because I have no control but the left side is more traditional scrapbook layout.

And that's my project. Love putting it all together! Hope you enjoyed the peek into my planner today. Kim

Bunnyville Collection: Flowers Layout by Melinda

Hello and Happy Friday! It's Melinda with you today and I'm sharing a layout I created using the Bunnyville Collection for a theme outside of Easter. Making the most of your products is the best way to get value for money so don't always feel as though you have to stick with the theme of your products.

As soon as I spied the Bunnyville Collection I knew I had to use 'Happy Easter' patterned paper... it just screamed 'fussy cutting' to me! However, I also knew that I really wanted to scrap the photos of my daughter's recent stay in hospital as she recieved some beautiful flowers from friends and I thought the paper would be perfect.

To create the dimensional appearance I hand cut each of the leaves and punched the remaining flowers and flower centres from a second sheet of the same paper.

Adding a bit of bling to the flowers using Sprinkles also helped with adding extra dimension and cuteness.

I wasn't having a very good day with hand journaling and after several failed attempts I decided to use the printer. Sometimes you just have to do what works.
That's it for today. I hope everyone has a happy Friday and don't forget to pop by tomorrow for another Bunnyville project from Kimberly.
