Home Run Collection: All Stars layout by Tya

Hi there Doodlebug fans! It's Tya here on the blog today introducing Doodlebug's baseball themed line called "Home Run" - and they really hit it out of the park with this awesome line! It was so fun to be able to scrap these fun pictures of my little sluggers! And as you can see - the line is perfect for girls and boys both!
I had a lot of fun making this layout because the pattern papers that come with this line are so great! Tons of icons that perfectly capture this fun sport. I used some Ladybug Chippers letters for my title and the baseball Doodlepop added the perfect dimension I was looking for.
The This and That sticker sheet has some really fun icons on them. I used the pennant stickers and combined them with some Pixies to make pennants. They added a fun and festive touch. I also added some word stickers and some star stickers from the This and That line as well. The little stars have a Bon Bon mini sprinkle in them .The stars have a baseball shaped Sprinkle to add a little pop as well.
I added some journaling that I typed up on my computer and used a notebook paper edge punch for some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to stay tuned for even more wonderful Home Run projects from my design team friends - we love these sporty lines so much! Happy Crafting!

Touchdown Collection: Super Fans Layout by Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with a layout I created using the new Touchdown Collection.  I live in Patriot's Nation...we are about 15 minutes from the stadium, so needless to say, there are many rabid fans in our neighborhood!  Every playoff game is celebrated in grand style.  I found this picture from one of the games in 2012... all the neighborhood kids were decked out in their Patriot's finest!

I can't say enough about the word stickers that are on the This and That Sheet... I love adding little clusters of them!  I also fell in love with the Football Doodlepop... the cute stitching is perfect!

I added some Star Shape Sprinkles from the Graduation assortment from last year... I love how all Doodlebug Collections work well together!  That's it for me today.  Make sure to stop by all this week for more Touchdown inspiration!

Touchdown! Flag Football Team Treats {and a bonus coach card}!

Hi friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing a fun "touchdown" project!  Everyone who has ever had a child play in any sport at a young age knows that the BEST part of any game (win or lose) is the team treat afterwards.  And it's an honor for each child to have their turn bringing the treat.  I love it because it gives me a chance to do something creative and fun to share with others!  My son played flag football this fall and we loved watching him learn and grow - and he loved the treats! ;)  Here's what we whipped up when it was his turn to take the treat:

We started by filling baggies with a capri-sun, cheese, and some crackers.

Before we zipped the bags shut, we tucked in one of these cute 3x3 cards, cut from patterned paper:

Next, we created little bag toppers using papers from the 6x6 pad, washi tape, and die-cuts.

We added the toppers to each bag by simply stapling them on!  I thought it would have been super cute to sew them on with my machine...but I figured this was easier (and Zach could help me) and the little football players probably wouldn't really care anyway. ;)

Here's a close-up look at one of the bags.  Front:

And back:

Of course, we sure appreciate the dads (and moms) who volunteer to coach these teams, so I always like to give them a little something special at the end of the season.  It's not a lot, but just something to say thanks.  Here's the card we created for our coach with the "touchdown" collection:

You know I love decorating the envelope so it coordinates too! ;)
And we added a gift card to a local burger spot for a yummy shake - attached with coordinating washi tape, of course!

Putting these little gifts together was quick and fun - thanks to the cute "touchdown" collection!!

Touchdown Collection: Coaster Gift Set & Card by Mendi

Hello there!  It's Mendi here today with a gift set using Doodlebug's new Touchdown collection and the new chunky twines.
My Stepdad loves football so I thought it would be fun to create a special birthday card for him this year.  I think the doodle pop foam finger is just about the cutest thing ever so I had to find a way to incorporate that.  As you can see I tried to incorporate a little bit of everything on this card.  ;)   I love how the football sprinkles are the perfect size to layer over the football border paper--I think it adds a little extra interest to what may otherwise be a pretty flat card.
To go with my card I decided to also alter a coaster set by Sierra Pacific that I found at my local craft store.  The coaster set was already painted black and white so I only needed to pick my favorite papers to decorate the two sides with and the lining of the box.
The 4 x 4 squares on the "football field" paper were perfect for the job.  The back of the coasters just happen to also be 4 x 4, but they are tapered on the front so I simply trimmed down my squares to be 3.75 x 3.75.   I then used Ranger's Multi Medium Matte with an old paintbrush to adhere the paper to each side of the coaster, followed by two more coats to the exterior (waiting for them to dry between each coat).  This product goes on extremely smooth and without the bubbling that I typically experience with other products.  I love that it dries to a clear matte finish and now my coasters are ready to be spilled on without damaging the fun paper underneath.
I must say I really had to fight the urge to add more cute details.  I really wanted to go nuts, but in the end I decided my Stepdad would prefer them to be simple, functional and generally blend with their home decor so I kept the outside of the coaster box plain.

I hope I've inspired you to take on this simple project for a sports lover in your life.  I love that this idea would work well with any of Doodlebug's four new sports themed collections.

Touchdown Collection: Go Team Mini Album by Traci Penrod

Are you ready for some football?!  With three men in my house, I have to be!  It's Traci, and I'm back to share another mini with you.  This week, the design team is playing with "Touchdown" ... an awesome addition to Doodlebug's new sports collections.   I decided to keep this album fairly simple.  Perfect for photos from pee wee ball to high school.  Great for coaches, super bowl parties, or tail gating....this collection will help you save all your football memories!
I combined Doodlebug's Touchdown collection with a chipboard album from Bo Bunny.  I layered papers from the 6x6 paper pad on the cover, along with some stars from the die-cut pack and lots of wonderful stickers.   I also added an epoxy football sprinkle over the football on the paper just to give the cover a little pop of fun and dimension.
For this last page, I kept it simple with a football laces border cut from my Silhouette machine.  Aren't the paper patterns perfect!?  I love the football texture pattern, the 6x6 football field with the numbered yard lines, and the helmets.  You'll have tons of fun with this collection if you're a football fan!  Happy crafting!

Touchdown Collection : Sports Tickets Holders by Tya

Hi there Doodlebug friends - its Tya here and I am up on the blog today showing you my project featuring the new Touchdown collection from Doodlebug Design! What a fun collection this is for your grid iron fans! Since this is the time of year we begin thinking about gift giving for the upcoming holidays, I thought that I would give you a few ideas on some fun ways to give sports tickets. If you have a sports fan in your life who you are planning on giving tickets to, why not make a fun holder to put them in. Envelopes are so boring - these are sure to please!
I used my Silhouette Cameo to make these holders. I loved pairing the awesome papers and embellishments with a fun box and 2 other holders. The first holder is this cute football helmet. If you'd like to make on of your own I used this file: Football Helmet Treat Box. I cut the star out of one of the 4x4 papers and glued it to the front of the helmet. I added a touchdown word sticker and some black star jewels to complete the box.
The next holder is a simple money holder that I placed the tickets in. I used this file: Money Card Holder. I decorated the front panel with some cute pattern paper and added a foam finger sticker for  the closure. I added a football border sticker from the This and That sticker sheet along the bottom edge of the envelope. To finish it off I added a bow using the adorable Bon Bon chunky twine.

The last holder is a fun slider box that I just fell in love with. I thought the pattern paper with the footballs and the football texture was the perfect fit for this fun box. I used this file : 3D Sliding Money Holder Box. I added a black cardstock belly band. I added a strip of  gridiron washi tape to the belly band.  I then added a sticker from the This and That Sticker Sheet. I also added one of the Football Sprinkles Shapes to the sticker front for some dimension. I topped the box off with a Beetle Black button and some black and white bakers twine.

That's all there is to it! And these don't have to be just for football. Feel free to substitute any of the other amazing sports lines that Doodlebug has to fit your sport tickets. Your sports loving fan will love the extra touch you added to make their present special just for them! Happy Crafting!

Touchdown Collection: Go Fight Win Layout by Jennifer Beason

Hello Doodlebug fans. Jennifer here and today I have a fun layout to share using the new Touchdown collection.
I decided to use white cardstock and the black "play guide" paper to start off the layout.
A paper strip and washi tapes from the collection were then placed to the right of the paper block.
Another patterned paper strip was glued to the left edge of the cardstock. Then word stickers, sprinkles, die-cuts and circle stickers were placed in between the two.
The large red star was cut on my Silhouette and adds some bright pops of color to the layout.
The pictures and medium size star were added to the layout next.  I also made sure to leave a spot for some journaling under the small photo. To finish off the layout some "play arrows" were cut on the Silhouette and applied, along with some die-cut stars, stickers and sprinkles.
Thanks for joining me today.  Jennifer
