HOMETOWN USA CARDS | with Karen

Confession time - I am a Canadian. So I do not claim to know anything about the wonderful celebrations I hear about on the 4th of July (but I did spend one 4th of July in Vegas - that was amazing). From what I have seen - family and friends joining for BBQs seems like a big part of the fun! So when the new Hometown USA collection arrived from Doodlebug, I decided to create some cute cards that you could take along for your BBQ hosts!

  All-three-2

Now, I am not sure you could make it to three events in one day, but I wanted to play around with a few ideas. There are so many icons in the adorable Odds and Ends collection, I thought you could really personalize them to the host.

  Embellishments

For the pet lovers - the BBQ where you will leave with as much hair on you as food inside you, I created this little card. It's a mix of all the die cut packs - some Odds and Ends, Bits and Pieces and Chit Chat for all of the embellishments.

  Pin-card

My favourite one is actually this card for the host that is just a little bit "extra". Now I know the card is embellished pretty simply, so it may not be clear where the "extra" is.

  Inside-of-card

But inside, your host will discover that the cute popsicle embellishment is actually a Doodlebug collection enamel pin! Perfect for the BBQ apron!

  All-three-1

And if you are heading to a BBQ with a host that you might not know as well, you cannot go wrong with a traditional Statue of Liberty card! It's a classic that will fit the bill for just about anyone! So, my friends to the south, I hope I have done you proud with these card designs! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

HOMETOWN USA MINI ALBUM | With Traci

Hey crafty friends! Traci here and today, I have a super cute, patriotic mini album to share with you titled Happy July 4th!  I created this with the fantastic Hometown USA collection and it's a perfect spot to save your summer memories and 4th of July celebrations.

Happy July 4th Scrapbook Album by Artsy Albums

I started with a 6x8 inch striped binder and created a sweet little picnic scene on the front cover. I added silver foil card stock, two 12x12 pattern papers, lots of cute die cuts from the Odds & Ends, and the Happy July 4th banner sticker from the This & That sheet.

On the first page, I made a pocket with one of the 4x4 cards from the Blast of Blue paper. I tucked a few Odds & Ends die cut pieces into it and ... since these are white on the back, they make great journaling spots!

I also made that same Home Sweet Home 4x4 card a fun little flippie with space inside for 2 more photos.

Check out this colorful fold-out page. I just love all the holiday images on the border paper called Polka Dot Pride. On the right, I added a cute hot air balloon die cut and created another flippie with the flower side of the Picnic Plaid print. The round July sticker is from the This & That sticker sheet.

Here's a great page for a family photo. I used the Hometown USA print in the background, then embellished with die cut pieces. Doodlebug's attention to detail is amazing ... the girl's star headband, the metallic stars on the boy's hat, the tiny blue bird, and the polka dot wagon full of flags. Genius!

Isn't this pocket page cute with the general store die cut on the front?!  I love the old-fashion cola machine, the dog, and the wee little flower pot!

I added two 3x4 cards (from the Summer Celebration print) to the pocket. I like to use these as photo mats and add extra pictures to the backsides. And the Main Street Floral in the back is another wonderful die cut.

Do you have some fun 4th of July plans? If so, you need this festive Hometown USA Collection. It's perfect for highlighting your photos, making cards, or any craft project!

This DIY Happy July 4th Album Kit will be available in my Artsy Albums shop tomorrow (Friday) if you're looking for a more guided project. I hope you have a great day and have fun playing with this amazing Hometown USA Collection!

HOMETOWN USA HAPPY 4TH OF JULY LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share my first layout using the Doodlebug Design Hometown USA collection!

I started with a cut file that I cut out on some Lily White Textured Cardstock. I backed the file with Hometown USA 12x12 & 6x6 papers and the adorable Festive Fireworks 12x12 Acetate! The Festive Fireworks Acetate was the perfect finishing piece to the cut file.

I trimmed down some Lily White Cardstock to 11.25" x 11.25" and then added some silver mist to the cardstock. Once the mist was dry I adhered the cut file down with some foam adhesive and then matted the trimmed cardstock base to some pattern papers from Hometown USA.

Next I matted my 3 photos onto some pattern papers from the 6x6 paper pad and adhered down to the layout.

Then I pulled out all the Hometown USA embellishments and added odds & ends and cardstock stickers around the layout. I love the firework odds & ends so added a lot of them around the page. To finish off the layout I added some Doodlebug Design sprinkles around the page.

Here is a look at my completed 12x12 layout using the Doodlebug Design Hometown USA collection! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!

HOMETOWN USA SUMMER RECIPE BOOK | with Jen

Summer is coming and I have a fun summer project for you today! Cooking in the summer tends to be a very last minute thing in our house. I often don't want to turn on the stove so I opt for simpler meals that can be grilled or eaten cold. What better way to document and organize some of those recipes than in a Doodlebug recipe book?

I used the adorable Home Sweet Home chipboard album to create a summer recipe book. I made the front cover into a shaker with the Doodlebug heave acetate because I was so excited to used the new Land That I Love Shakers!

On the front I used elements from the Hometown USA Chit Chat and a couple of Icon stickers.

For the doorway I took a scrap of the acetate, scored it with a 1/4" gusset. I attached this at the bottom of the doorway before adding my larger piece of acetate over the windows. I then added two layers or foam tape to build my shaker.

On the pages inside I added an assortment of low effort summer recipes. I used the Hometown USA mini icons to decorate and I ended up using almost all of them!

On the back of the album I added the picnic sticker from the This and That sticker sheet and some ants from the puffy icons.

HOMETOWN USA JULY 4th LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today and I get to share a new layout with y'all today using the new Hometown USA collection. Our veterinary office had setup a little 4th of July display to take photos in front of and we couldn't resist a little photoshoot with our dog Cubby. These were perfect for this collection, especially since there's a dog (and cat!) featured throughout the embellishments. Here's my page:

When I first got the collection, I went through it to see what immediately inspired me. It's always different each time and for this round, I was drawn to the coordinating Texture Cardstock pack. I pulled the white, blue and red out and thought it would be nice to create some mattes using each one. I trimmed the blue to an 11x11 and then the white to a 10x10. I distressed the edges and adhered both down to the red. This created a nice bold foundation for the rest of my layout.

For some extra color and a bit of mixed media, I added in some ink blending using the Lumberjack Plaid and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks. I then trimmed down a few strips of the Picnic Plaid and All Stars 12x12 Patterned Paper. I used both of the A and B sides of the All Stars paper. I distressed the edges and adhered the layers right in the center of my page.

For my title, I used a few pieces from the Chit Chat Pack and popped them up on foam tape. I then pulled out the Patriotic Puppy Doodle-Pop and adhered it right next to it. It's so cute!!!

I put my photos right in the middle of the page on top of the patterned papers and then embellished around it in a diagonal line. Next, I pulled out the fireworks circle pieces from the Chit Chat Pack and adhered them along that same line. I also pulled out a few elements from the Bits & Pieces Pack as well as a few of the Cardstock Icons Stickers and adhered those down. That truck pulling the kids? Adorable!!!

For some finishing touches, I sprinkled in a few of the Puffy Icons stickers and some of the Star Spangled Shape Sprinkles. This page makes me so happy!

Here's one last look at this super patriotic page featuring my adorable puppy dog!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way. I'll see you in my next post friends! xo Brianna
