MY HAPPY PLACE SHADOWBOX INSERT LAYOUT | with Lisa

For my layout today,  I was in the mood for something simple, yet colorful and happy. I decided to work with the Shadowbox kit and create a layout with it... take a peek...

For my background, I absolutely wanted to use this rainbow patterned paper which I love so much!!
To start, I drew a circle on the paper. I chose my photo and backed it with a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad, then I adhered it to the background.

I used the Shadow Box kit from the My Happy Place collection which consists of cardstock stickers, a pack of jewels and a pack of shaped sprinkles. I adhered the photo first to see where I needed to place all the rest. Then I started with the big stickers and adhered them in a balanced way, considering the colors and the size. Then I went smaller and smaller, filling up more and more of the space. To fill up the last tiny holes, I used the tiny enamel dots and jewels.

To create a bit of dimension and interest and to have a visual triangle, I adhered three of the stickers using thick foam squares and adding tangled thread behind them. For the title, I used a die cut from the Chit Chat pack and some Abigail, My Type and Sunshine alpha stickers.

To add a last little accent, I stitched a circle all round the stickers, using white thread and a chain link stitch. Then I added white splatters.

I think I'll be using more of this collection the next months, because I quit my job as a teacher to work from home 100% and I'm super excited. So I'll be able to spend a lot of time with my kitty and take more home photos, heheeee! :)

This kind of layout is also a cool idea to use up a lot of left over stickers from any collection. You can even create other shapes, it always looks cute. :)  Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!

MY HAPPY PLACE HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOX | with Miguel

Making boxes is one of my favorite crafting activities, since you have the opportunity to make them to your own taste and size. Today I have this beautiful box that I made with the My Happy Place Collection.  This could be a fun gift for someone special on their birthday!

I designed this box to fit one of the cut out card designs from the collection.  I wanted it to be the focus of my project.  I decorated it with shape sprinkles to give light and dimension to the center of the flowers.

I created a fun closure for the box by punching holes in the two flaps, placing an eyelet in each and then I ran a ribbon through them to create a nice bow.

Finally, I used a tag from the collection to place the name of the person who will receive this gift.

Thank you for reading see you soon!

MY HAPPY PLACE EVERYDAY DOCUMENTING | with Nathalie

I am loving how everyday documenting is become a breeze since I started using Doodlebug's My Happy Place to complete  my daily pages.   The colors and designs are perfect to safekeep all those small moments.  Let me show you!

I am using the collection for my Family Journal, and these came together seamlessly in a short amount of time.

I started with a simple pocket page.  I added a few embellishments to the picture, and created my small card using the 6x6 paper pad (I fussy cut the smaller label so it fit in the card).   For my journaling page, I am bringing some of the same colors using the tag from the Bits and Pieces collection.   I just love how easily the embellishments combine.

I started with a Petite Print for the base of the page.  Then added a touch of rainbow with strips of patterned paper (with a punched edge)  to the outer edges of the spread.   This time, I fussy cut the image from the 3x4 cut apart cards, and added it as a complement  to the large sticker ( Sticker sheet).  A few sprinkles complete the page!

A grid design is always an easy way to tell a few stories cohesively.   This time, I am using patterned paper as the background for my layout, then added a few embellishments to complement my story.    The Bits and Pieces pack from this collection is probably one of my favorites, as it has the perfect elements to help you create clusters and add journaling in your pages.

I hope these give you a few ideas for your memory keeping projects. All you need are your photos, the story, and the beautiful My Happy Place Collection!  XO

MY HAPPY PLACE 3D HOUSE BOX | with Kathy

Every time I pull out the My Happy Place Collection, I'm inspired to create !  This week, I combined the fun papers and stickers with the collection with one of the SVG files from the collection to make this fun little house box.  I thought it would be fun to use to package a housewarming gift for a friend.  Take a peek...

For the base of my box, I used a Lori Whitlock File from her Christmas Village Class.  I resized and edited the file to remove the windows and added the windows, trim and door from the My Happy Place House - 7 SVG File.

I created an insert "bottom" to slide inside the house to hold a gift.  Now for the fun part... I decorated my house with some stickers from the collection...

I added stickers from the Icon and Mini Icons sheets.  I love those plants!  To embellish the sides, I added some of the trees and fences from the Icons sheet.

I wish I could live in such a sweet house!  Have you created any projects using the My Happy Place collection or SVG files?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

MY HAPPY PLACE 8x8 ALBUM | with Traci

Hey friends! Today, I have another fun project for you using the adorable My Happy Place Collection, a Shadow Box Kit and one of my acrylic albums. This little scrapbook is perfect for photos of family, friends and fun times spent close to home.

My happy place family home scrapbook album with sticker collage

I started by cutting two 8x8 inch covers out of black acrylic but you could use chipboard or card stock for these instead. Then I cut a 7.25 inch circle window out of the front cover that's just the right size for the round sticker collage.

Look how cute this is with the rhinestone gems and the little enamel sprinkles! I love all the details.

Have you had a chance to play with a Shadow Box Insert Kit yet? If not ... I highly recommend! The kit comes with a circle template, card stock, vellum and tons of stickers to create this collage. It's so much fun. You place the stickers on the vellum with the help of a template behind it. I'm a big fan of these, I've used them in 4 different albums now.

My happy place family scrapbook page with houses and flowers

The pages inside are filled with My Happy Place cuteness. This one has a folding element for extra photo space. When you flip open the side panel, it looks like this ...

I added die cuts from the Odds and Ends and Chit Chat. I love the house with the flower covered roof and that yellow polka dot car. Wouldn't this mat be perfect for a family photo?

The colors and patterns in this collection are awesome. I love the pink flower paper next to the Love Grows Here print I used on the pocket above. Those little houseplants are so much fun.

I also added some 4x4 element cards to the pocket. You can add photos to the backside of these or use them for journaling.

This collection is beautiful - the colors are bright and cheerful and it has everything you need to highlight your family photos. It even has die cuts for your sweet furry friends!

I hope this project inspires you to create your own scrapbook with this adorable My Happy Place Collection. The instructions for this project are available in my shop and below are all the wonderful supplies used to make it. Happy scrappin'!

MY HAPPY PLACE LAYOUT | with Erica

If you have not picked up the beautiful My Happy Place collection yet today is the day! I love that this collection can be used for all the cozy moments at home!

I used a cut file designed by Lacey Ann Designs that is available HERE;. I love a large center cut file that can be backed with pretty pattern papers from collections! The colors in this collection are gorgeous and the bits and pieces pack is on of my all time favorites!

Create floral clusters on a layout with all these pieces is so fun and makes putting pages together so easy! I highly recommend picking up two packs of the bits & pieces!

I printed my photos out in black and white which really pop on the page with the pretty colors in this collection. I used a stamp set from my stash to create the splatter marks around the cut file to help it really stand out! The pops of black in this collection are fabulous and the black and white stripe paper has my heart! If you follow me then you know I am a sucker for a black and white stripe paper!

The photos are of Liam and I being cozy on the couch and they are the sweetest! Remember to document those little moments in life! I embellished the layout with My Happy Place mini icon stickers, odds & ends and sprinkles! I love how this page turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug blog today! I hope you are inspired to create a page documenting the little moments!

MY HAPPY PLACE CARD SET | with Karen

Okay, you are not going to believe what just happened - I actually used my Doodlepops. If you are a Doodlebug fan like I am, you may understand the huge accomplishment that this is. Yes, the Doodlepops are the product I spend the most time admiring when a new collection comes out. And yes, they then usually go into my collection box where I have them all organized into theme (I blame my sticker collecting days as a child for this). But not today people, not today! Today, I made cards!

All-three

See - here's the thing with Doodlepops - they are perfect! With their layered textured and amazingly cute Doodlebug designs, they really are the perfect feature for a project.

Closeup-1

And the shaker pop, like this one called Fineus and Friends, take detail and cuteness to the next level. For this card, I simply added a few pieces of the 6x6 paper onto one of the My Happy Place Cards & Envelopes, embellished with a few flower shapes from the Bits and Pieces and the card was finished in all it's layered cuteness!

Closeup-2

In the end, I am not sure which one is my favourite. Then again, do I have to have a favourite?

All-three-2

So there you have it - Doodlepop success! I can't wait to actually give these away - if they don't end up in my collection box first! Baby steps people, baby steps!

Thanks for stopping by!

MY HAPPY PLACE EASEL CARD | with Wanda

Hello Doodle-friends! Wanda here today sharing a fun easel card made with the My Happy Place collection! Cheerful colors and a cheerful message on this card. Perfect for a thank you or a just because card. It folds flat for mailing! Have you ever made an easel card? I like it because the recipient can easily display it and it can cheer them up! This is a super simple card with one score/fold but it packs a punch in impact. To find directions - Google "easel card" and many links will come up. You can make a round one, square one, or in my case an A2 size.

My underlying card is white cardstock folded. Then I added lots of papers and stickers from the My Happy Place collection. I also added Flower Garden Doodle Pops and some gems for good measure. This card folds flat and fits in an A2 envelope!

The key to a good easel is that you have to place something on the bottom part for the card to 'hook' onto. I used a pretty sticker and mounted it to the card with foam tape. I added a word sticker and some hearts to the bottom also.

Here's a side view so you can see the logistics!

A close up of my little embellishment cluster...gems, flowers, stickers...all the good things!

The main image is a rectangle cut from the 12x12 My Happy Place paper pad. I added a heart to the vase and I also splattered on some white paint.

I hope I've encouraged you to make an easel card of your own! The My Happy Place collection is wonderfully happy and pretty! I'll be back soon with another project. Until then, happy crafting!
