FAIRY GARDEN ACRYLIC TAB ALBUM | with Traci

Happy Spring everyone!  This is my favorite season of the year so it was easy for me to pick a theme for this week's project  -- sunshine, flowers and rainbows!  And Fairy Garden was the perfect collection!

For this mini, I used an acrylic tabbed album and lots of DoodlePops!  Actually, that adorable sunshine on the cover is a Shaker-Pop called Sunsational.  I also used Double Rainbow because I wanted one on the front cover and one backing it on the inside.  Isn't the little row of hearts cute??  The cloud and hearts are from another Doodle-Pop called Over the Rainbow.

When you open the cover, the pieces on the front cover show through the clear acrylic, so I covered up the adhesive side with additional Doodle-Pops.  This sun is called Fun in the Sun and I just love that sweet smiling face and the epoxy rays.

I used 12x12 and 6x6 patterns from the collection to create photo mats and layers.  I also had fun hunting through the odds & ends to find pieces that back up to each other nicely ... like this snail and mushroom.  There's a lilac snail and a lime mushroom on the other side :)

I wanted a journaling spot in the album so I created a little flippie so photos could hide inside.  They will look really cute on the plaid mats!

Did you see all of those cute shape sprinkles on the tabs?  I think they add a fun touch across the top of the album.  They are from Hello Sunshine, With All My Heart, and Chasing Rainbows.

I hope this Spring album inspires you to create a fun project with Fairy Garden!  Thanks for letting me share my newest mini with you!

HIPPITY HOPPITY HAPPY EASTER LAYOUT | with Erica

Want an easy and fun way to create some texture on your layout? Use fringe scissors on some paper strips to create a fun pop of color and texture to your project!

If you do not have fringe scissors you can definitely use regular scissors to create the fringe! I cut 12 strips of pattern paper about 1.75" thick and used my fringe scissors to create fun strips to add to the bottom of a piece of 12x12 lily white Doodlebug Design Cardstock. The fringe adds so much interest and texture to the page and I think it goes perfect with this layout!

I used the super adorable Hippity Hoppity collection and backed a cut file using the 6x6 paper pad. I placed the cut file right above the fringe and embellished around the cut file! I added some die cut florals to the center of some of the letters and put a Spring Assortment Sprinkles in the center!

I also pulled out the Bunny & Friends Easter Die-Cuts and adhered this cute chick to the bottom left corner of my layout! The Bunny & Friends Die-Cuts also come with these colorful Easter eggs!

I tucked in some flowers around the cut file and added in some tiny sprinkles! So many little details in this layout and I love how it turned out!

The next time you are looking for a way to add some texture to your page try some fringe! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my layout and I would love to see some fringe on your project! Tag me @ericarosecreates and Doodlebug so we can have a look! Have a great day!

HIPPITY HOPPITY EASTER TREAT HOLDERS | with Karen

Big news everyone! I was out walking the dog today and I saw green grass! Now I know that may not be a big deal for many of you who live in warm places but up here in Calgary, green grass is the signal of a turning point! Cue Easter and all that wonderfully bright and fun spring time goodness!

Full-set-1

So out onto the crafty table came one of the most adorable Easter themed collections that was released last year - Hippity Hoppity. It was time to make some little treat containers for our upcoming hunt. I know, I know, that is what the plastic eggs are for. But come on. Does it get cutter than these little mini milk cartons?

Now, if I am being honest, the patterns in this collection speak for themselves. There are so many great colours and patterns that you really don't even need to embellish them.

Stickers-1

But the Mini Icon Stickers, Mini clothes pins and Sprinkles are the perfect size to embellish the patterns that are a little simpler in design or tone on tone. As for the rest, let the paper do the talking, because the recipients of these little containers will be squealing with joy just like I was when I saw the grass this morning!

Full-Set-2

I'll take these over plastic eggs any day! Thanks for stopping by!

HIPPITY HOPPITY SPRINGY FEELINGS LAYOUT | with Lisa

It's that time of the year again... no, not Christmas... Easter!! :) I love decorating with bunnies and sheep and chicks and using pastel colors everywhere. So to start with my Easter layouts, I went with the Doodlebug Easter collection from last year, called Hippity Hoppity and I mixed in a few little embellishments from other collections and from the basics.

A wreath design is always a good choice when you want to use a ton of embellishments. This layout came together pretty fast, since I only needed to find the embellishments that I wanted to use and basically create a circle with them.   I mainly used stickers and die cuts from the Hippity Hoppity collection. I decided to give the eggs and little characters more dimension and interest to make them stand out more by stitching patterns on them with embroidery thread. For the little characters, I used my Distress Oxides to give them cheeks and a colored border.

I also distressed the edges of the characters, I just love that effect. To start the wreath, I placed the big eggs and characters on my prepped patterned paper. You always want to start with the bigger embellishments and then go smaller and smaller. I adhered them to the page using foam squares and foam tape.

Then I started placing my middle-sized embellishments... the smaller eggs, flowers and leaves. I tried to fill in the circle being careful to create a perfect shape. Next I added small embellishments like mini eggs, tiny flowers etc. just before adding the final touches, the enamel dots.

When placing the super small objects, I tried to fill in any gaps that remained to keep a perfect circle.
I also used the enamel dots in the center of the flowers, to decorate some eggs, and I used tiny black ones on the eyes of the characters.  For my title, I went super simple. I used the Abigail and Sunshine alpha stickers.

I love creating wreaths, they are super fun to make and as I said, you can use a ton of embellishments, which I really love! I hope you were inspired to start your Easter projects too. I look forward to the new spring collections from Doodlebug, I can't wait. :)

See you soon...
