Hello everyone! Traci here and today, I'm sharing a cupcake shaped mini album titled Happy Birthday! I made it with the colorful new Balloons and Banners Collection and a super cute Doodlebug cutting file. It's a fun little scrapbook for photos of family, friends, a cake, gifts, and sweet birthday memories! 🎂
For the shape, I chose the cutting file called Bar-B-Cute Cupcakes and cut two covers out of white acrylic. You could use cardstock or chipboard for these instead. On the front, I added the Cake Sprinkles paper on the top half, which was perfect for my cupcake! Then, I used the Cue the Confetti paper on the bottom and the Balloons and Banners print for the cherry. There are so many great embellishments, I had a hard time picking which ones to use on the cover. But since I wanted to add a little dimension, I chose the Happy Birthday title from the puffy word stickers and the fun little Surprise Party Doodle-pops. They worked great! Then, I added the larger balloons and orange gift from the Odds & Ends and the enamel stars from the Star of the Party sprinkles. I think it turned out so cute!
Inside the cover, I added a little pocket made with die cuts from the Bits & Pieces. I used the striped pocket and tucked the clipboard journaling card inside. Then, I decorated with a balloon and pinwheel from the Odds & Ends, the "It's Your Day" sticker from the puffy words, and some enamel Hip Hip Hooray sprinkles.
Inside, I added 8 white cardstock pages and layered each one with a colorful patterned paper. Above, I used the Star of the Party print in the background, made a photo mat with the Cue the Confetti and Let's Celebrate papers, then decorated with more fun die cuts.
For this layout, I used the limeade polka dot print titled Sweet Cupcakes and cut 2 photo mats out of the Shine Bright paper. Such colorful little stars! I decorated with die cuts from the Odds & Ends, then added some Hip Hip Hooray enamel shape sprinkles.
I love this page. It feels like a scene from a Peanuts cartoon strip, lol! I imagined the gifts were piled on a table and people were in the room behind them holding the flags and having fun. The word bubbles are them speaking and the hearts are coming up from them as they enjoy the party. Ohhh ... the places my brain goes to as I'm scrapbooking! 😂Here's a great page for a picture of the birthday boy or girl! In the background, I used the colorful striped paper called Celebration Streamers. I created a round photo mat using 3.5" and 4" circle punches, then embellished with the "Best Birthday Ever" from the Chit Chat and an Odds & Ends cupcake. On this layout, I added the colorful plaid titled Check It Out. Love this print! Then, I created a flippie using a 3x4 card from the Cake Sprinkles Paper. I added some enamel dots from the Birthday Boy sprinkles and the orange tab and "happy" sticker from the This & That sheet. Now this page has space for 2 photos!
I covered this page in the star side of the Cue The Confetti print. I added a photo mat and tucked the cute balloons mini icon sticker in behind it. Then, I added the "Birthday" from the Chit Chat, the Party from the puffy word stickers, and the colorful row of hearts from the Hip Hip Hooray sprinkles.
I love the Balloons and Banners Collection! It turned my simple white cupcake album into a bright and colorful keepsake for happy birthday memories. I hope this project inspires you to create something fun. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting! 🥳
