HEY PUMPKIN EEK! MINI ALBUM | with Conny

Hello, crafty friends! Happy Friday!   This is Conny from The Daily Life of Creativity, and today I’m sharing a mini album I made with the adorable Hey Pumpkin collection. It’s perfect for documenting all those fun October and Halloween memories!
To get started, you’ll need three pieces of chipboard: Two pieces measuring 5 x 6 inches for the covers and one piece measuring 5 x 2 1/4 inches for the spine.
For the outside covers, I used the Hey Pumpkin paper, featuring the cute critters on a gray background. I cut one piece measuring 6 1/4 x 12 inches, leaving approximately 3/4 inch around the chipboard to wrap the edges. Since that wasn’t enough to cover everything, I added another piece measuring 6 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches, using the striped side of the same paper.
For the inside covers, I used Peek-a-boo paper. I cut one piece measuring 4 3/4 x 12 inches and another measuring 4 3/4 x 5 inches.  I used double-sided tape to adhere the papers and a miter tool to trim the corners for a neat finish, making sure the chipboard edges were completely covered.
If you’re new to mini albums, I have several YouTube videos showing how I put my chipboard covers together.

I kept the binding simple using stretchy string to attach seven pages to the spine. I tied each string securely without pulling it too tightly, allowing the pages to move freely.

For the pages, I used Moonlight Magic , the Hey Pumpkin Petite Print Assortment Pack , and coordinating Hey Pumpkin Textured Cardstock.
Some pages measure 12 x 4 3/4 inches, scored at 6 inches along the 12-inch side.
I also added flip pages using black cardstock. These measure approximately 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches, with a 1/2-inch score along the 4 1/2-inch side for the attachment. They can fit 3 x 4-inch photos, and the larger areas underneath provide additional room for pictures and journaling.
You could also add pockets to the front or back covers for storing extra photos and tags.
To decorate the album, I used the Hey Pumpkin 6 x 6-inch paper pad, Trick or Treat tags, Odds & Ends , Bits & Pieces, and Chit Chat titles.
I love mixing the floral die cuts, Halloween icons, and titles to create little clusters throughout the pages. I added foam adhesive to many of the embellishments for dimension while leaving room underneath to tuck in photos later.

For the cover, I layered a scalloped circle from the Hey Pumpkin die-cut stickers with another circle from the ephemera. Then I added a Pumpkin Patch Doodle-Pop and finished with spiderwebs, stars, and bats from the Hey Pumpkin Mini Icons .
To finish the spine, I gathered the seven strings and tied them together in the middle. Between the strings, I added three colors of the new wired pom-pom trim: Limeade, Cupcake and Beetle Black.
These trims add such a fun, playful touch! I also love that you can press the pom-poms down for storage and fluff them back up when you’re ready to display the album.
And that’s it for my Hey Pumpkin mini album! I love how the different page sizes, interactive flips, and dimensional embellishments leave plenty of room for photos and little Halloween memories.
What do you think of this album? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting! Xo
