FAIRY GARDEN SHAPED CARDS | with Kathy

I am a cut file lover.  So when I saw the Fairy Garden Collection files in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop I was absolutely giddy!  I love making larger versions of all of the adorable Fairy Garden icons, I picked a few of my favorite files to create these fun shaped cards.  Take a peek...

I just love the little bugs in the Fairy Garden collection!  They are just so stinkin' cute!  The ladybug is one of my favorites.  This card was created using the Fairy Garden Bug on Toadstool SVG.  I used a variety of color coordinating Petite Prints to piece it together, and finished both cards with some sprinkles.

My next card was created using the Snail on Toadstool and Flower Patches SVG files.  That little snail just makes me smile!

I just love that Doodlebug's Petite prints coordinate perfectly with all of their collections.  It allows me to make my larger versions of their cute little icons in the exact colors as their smaller counterparts!  And the scaled down prints of the 6x6 pads are perfect for smaller pieces!

Have you made any projects using the Fairy Garden SVG Files?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we always love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

FAIRY GARDEN MINI NOTEBOOK | with Shellye

We've all been there: down to the last few sheets of a 6X6 paper pad...what to do?  Today I'm sharing a Mini Album created with leftovers from the Fairy Garden Paper Pad!  The covers of the pad were even used.  Let's take a look...

This album was as easy as folding the 6X6 papers in half and adhering to each other, back-to-back.  I used a total of 7 pages in all.  Note: I did corner round all four corners of each folded paper before gluing together.  The corner rounding at the top and bottom of the fold allows rooms when tucking under the elastic strap.

For the front and back covers, I used the front and back covers of the actual 6X6 paper pad!  I trimmed the first piece down to 3X6 and the other piece down to 2.5X6; this is the spine. The 3X6 pieces were covered in a piece of 12X12 patterned paper and then corner rounded at the two right-sided corners.

The spine piece was covered in paper of the same size and scored at 1" and 1.5".  The two 1" flaps were then attached to the covers with high-tack adhesive tape.  I used a a 1/8" hole punch to make two holes and the top and bottom of the spine.  A piece of cording was strung through to create a strap for the pages.

On the "bluebird" pages I used the Sweet Rolls Stickers to make a custom background!

Left-over strips of paper, die-cuts, stickers, sprinkles, washi tape and paper tabs were used to decorate the pages as shown! Because the pages are naturally narrow, I found it best to score the larger die-cuts at one edge and glue the edge down; allows more placement options for photos!

Thank you for joining me today!

FAIRY GARDEN BEAUTIFUL GIRL LAYOUT | with Traci

It's hard to believe it's almost the end of May ... but what's even harder for me to believe is that this sweet girl graduated from Pre-K today!  This picture was taken at her graduation luau party, and when I saw the colors, I knew they would be perfect for a Fairy Garden page.

I wanted to keep the page simple to focus on the beautiful photo, but I also wanted it to be colorful.  So although my background is white, I backed it with the pretty Fairy Floral paper and a solid band of swimming pool linen.

I thought a band of sprinkles would be fun, so I used a pencil and a ruler to draw lines on the white page.  Then I filled in the space with lots of cute sprinkles and erased the lines.  I used the tip of my craft knife to place each one.  This was actually very relaxing and I love the shine and color it created across my page.

So if you're hoarding your sprinkles (guilty here!) step out of your comfort zone and use them up in a big way!  You'll love the texture it creates on the page too!!  Have fun!

FAIRY GARDEN HAPPY DAYS LAYOUT | with Lisa

Do you like making grid design layouts... ? I don't know if it's something for everyone, but I LOVE them and it's been quite some time, since I made one, so I really enjoyed making this layout.

What I love about grid designs, is that they are so easy and they come together super fast, plus, they always turn out fun.  For my layout, I started by choosing the patterned papers that I wanted to use. I used the Fairy Garden collection for this layout which has amazingly cute papers. I chose four that have a white background and colorful pattern and then five that only have one color. I backed them with white paper and distressed the edges. Then I backed them with white paper once more but used foam tape this time, to make them pop and to create some shadows. I distressed the edges again to make the whole thing more fun and interesting.

I adhered my nine squares to a blue patterned paper with clouds that I had splattered with white paint just before.  I used a photo of me and my girlfriends, matted it on white, then colorful patterned paper and adhered it to the layout. Then I went through all of the embellishments from the collection and spent some time choosing and deciding what I wanted to do and where I wanted to place everything.

I kind of did a vertical design by leaving the upper right and bottom left corner a bit more empty. Just those two blank spots help the whole layout seem less overcrowded and give the eyes a place to rest. For the rest, I used die-cut pieces, enamel shapes, enamel dots and jewels. I also used a Doodle Pop rainbow with clouds, love it!!  I adhered some of the embellishments with liquid glue, directly onto the paper, and other ones I adhered using foam squares. I love it when the layout has different dimensions and has those shadows you create when you use dimensional adhesives.

I love the word die-cuts from Doodlebug. There's always a word you can use for your title. I love to pair those with alpha stickers in different fonts.

That its it for today! I hope you enjoyed it and see you very soon!

FAIRY GARDEN SWEET LAYOUT | with Miguel

Do you have many pictures with mom? Well, it's your time to choose your favorite photo and create into a nice layout, don't you think?

I used the fairy garden collection to create this layout. And there is no doubt that capturing and documenting special moments is special to me!

My layout is made up of a cut file from the Silhouette Store, in which I was able to use all of my paper scraps from other projects to back and give color to the flowers.

I decorated further with odds ends, chit chat and shape sprinkles from the Fairy Garden Collection. I glued in several layers to give more dimension.

Thank you very much, as always for looking! Goodbye and do not forget to imagine, create and be happy!

FAIRY GARDEN ODDS & ENDS CARDS | with Karen

It is no secret that I am addicted to Doodlebug stamps. As a card maker, I use them on almost every project I create. But before Doodle Stamps came along, my favourite card making products were the Doodlebug Odds and Ends die cut sets. In fact, even though stamps often feature prominently on my projects, you will almost always find Odds and Ends and Chit Chat sentiments on them as well.

So today, I decided to go back to my Doodlebug roots and have some fun with the Odds and Ends and Chit Chat sets...

All-3-first

...to help me create an absolutely adorable Fairy Garden card set.

Closeup

When you are creating cards, having a variety of shapes and pieces that work together helps to create layers that add dimension to your cards. And given that Doodlebug LOADS the Odds and Ends and Chit Chat packages, you can create SO many cards, each with a unique look.

Belly-band

I also find that since I usually make A2 cards, these die cuts are also the perfect size for standard cards helping to create a scale on your cards that works every single time...even on fun interactive cards like these pop out explosion cards.

Open

Whether you are decorating in front of the card or the inside of the card, you will find shapes and sentiments that will work! And while I love stamping and colouring, when Doodlebug does the work for you, creation time is cut in half!

All-3-last

So there you have it! A little inspiration for some cards that simply need a little cutting a little glueing. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping by!
