BUTTERFLY KISSES CARDS | with Niella

Hi crafty friends! Thanks for popping by today! Today's post is simple, fun and easy to recreate! They are created using Butterfly Kisses with a front strip of cardstock to help pop your focus point!  I love re-visiting and re-creating with Doodlebug products because everything matches and co-ordinates with each other.  Once you start to build your collections, you'd be able to pull out anything to craft with, how fun! I've used the cards & envelope pack from the Happy Healing collection.  The pink, green and blue ones are perfectly matched with the Butterfly Kisses collection, super adorable!

Have you ever noticed that the envelopes have sweet patterns inside? Talk about detail! Look at how stinkin' cute the polka dots are and the pink graph? Yes, please!

To start the card bases, I've machine stitched my chosen patterned papers from the 6x8 paper pad, onto some coordinating craft foam sheets.  This helps to add dimension and texture with the stitching.  I've used a quilting thread that is thicker than most threads, but any thread will do!  Once I've stitched, I've then adhered them to each card with liquid glue.  Then once bone dry, I've scalloped edged each card.  Cute, right!

Now is the fun part! Decorating to your hearts content! You may have a theme in mind.  For me, I love creating cards just because. And once finished, I wonder if I need to add more. If you know my crafting style, you'd know I love to create clusters from both ephemera and stickers! Then once I've finished my clusters, I need to add a dash here and a splash of finesse there by dotting some Sprinkles around. Nothing escapes me! Ha.

BUTTERFLY KISSES STADIUM WAVE CARDS | with Karen

A few months ago, I came across a "new to me" pop up card style called the stadium wave card. At the time, it was the winter so I was happily crafting with all sorts of wintery wonderland collections. But at the time, I remember thinking that this style of card would be perfect with a fun Doodlebug collection filled with all sorts of florals that could pop right out of the card like a summer garden. So when I found out the we were going to be featuring Butterfly Kisses, I knew that this pop-up had to come out again!

So this last weekend, it was time to get busy making a little anniversary card and a little birthday card. Both cards were created with some white cardstock and then matted with patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad on the front and on the inside.

To decorate the pop-up wave part of the card, I got to work using a variety of die cuts from both the Bits & Pieces pack and the Odds and Ends pack. On this particular card, I want it to have a bit of a whimsical feel so I included some of the cute characters that you can find in the Odds & Ends pack.

And for this card, I really just wanted to feature the amazing florals that are in the Bits & Pieces pack. There are so many sized of flowers and leaves that it is so easy to create the layered garden look that I was going for.

And then for the bands that hold the cards closed, I used some mini doilies for a bit of texture on top of a Petite Prints pattern called Plaid-polka dot in Pistachio. I then added a Doodle-pop to each - Butterfly Kisses and Fun Guys (my favourite)! A few Mini Paperclips balanced out the one with the mushrooms and some Puffy Words stickers finished each one off.

BUTTERFLY KISSES SPRING CARDS | with Niella

Happy Friday crafty crew! Thank you for popping by today.  Hope you had fun last weekend with our giveaways and challenges to celebrate iNSD2026! And a sneak peak of our new collection Color Me Crafty! It is everything fun, colorful and crafty!  I was so inspired to create quick and fast projects and there is nothing better than feeling so proud of ones little art works to gift! One of my favorite collections is this one as it's super adorable! Butterfly Kisses! Stay tuned until the end for my video showcase of my three greeting cards!

Using three of the six cards from the Spring Assortment cards & envelopes pack, I started each card with a base of patterned paper and built my way upwards to the front.  Yes, I used a Doodle-Pop as an accent for each card.  How hard is it to use up your hoard!  If it's hard for you, I totally understand :-) You're definitely not the only one.

I love the dimension on each card.  I've used my ever faithful foam rectangles and pop dots to help add that needed 3D feel.  With Doodle-Pops you just know they'll already bring that joy as they are already so layered and fun! How cute is the froggy, the rainbow with florals and that adorable tea cup with a sweet bouquet of flowers.  Pure joy!

My favorite idea is to use the icon stickers as ephemera. Especially as I like the size of each.  There is just so much cuteness to each little face and how darling to have Sprinkles here and there to add to the scene! Every Doodlebug collection has all the best matching pieces, it is so fun to create with!  I've used the word stickers from the This & That 12x12 sticker sheet.  This product never disappoints with all the options you have on every sheet! From the mini words to the tabs and more!

Once each card is finished, I tie off some matching Doodle-Twine for that final touch! Twine seals the deal for me on my cards, tags and bookmarks!  It's that subtle touch that gives dimension and texture.  And with all the twine colors, you will never be short on options!

BUTTERFLY KISSES JUST BECAUSE CARDS | with Karen

This weekend, we celebrate Mother's Day here in Canada. But there are lots of reasons why that holiday might be challenging for some people. So one of the things that I like to do on this particular weekend each year is to think about all the women in my life that are having a positive impact on my life - regardless of their title - and acknowledge them in some way.

Now you might argue that I am just using that as an excuse to make more cards because you know I love to make cards! You wouldn't be entirely wrong - I do LOVE to make cards. But how wonderful is it to have a stash ready to go when you just want to reach out and "thank-you" to someone special to you - this weekend or another time?

For this set, I started with a perfect standby - the Spring Cards & Envelopes pack - and teamed it up with some beautiful paper from the 6X8 Butterfly Kisses paper pad. I simply cut a couple of different patterns for each card, layering them and then adding a simple faux stitch border with a black pen to finish the edges.

From there, I actually added some adorable sentiments from one of my favourite products - the Butterfly Kisses Puffy Word stickers. Normally the sentiment is the last part that I put on my cards, but because these sentiments are so bold, they really are the focal point. Placing them first allows me to work around them with embellishments.

Speaking of embellishments, the Butterfly Kisses Odds & Ends die cut pack is filled with the sweetest icons, characters and shapes. I had no trouble finding the perfect shapes to use around the sentiments. On most of them, I used foam adhesive to add a bit more dimension on the cards. By popping them up a bit, you get a little shadow that just create a little more interest!

BUTTERFLY KISSES WINDOW CARDS | with Kathy

Spring has finally made its way to New England!  The sun is starting to shine and the flowers are blooming!  I decided to make some fun spring cards to celebrate.  I used the perfect Butterfly Kisses collection to put them together.  Take a peek...

I was very brave when making these cards, and used three... yes three separate Doodle-pops!  It made the cards so easy to complete!  For my first card I cut a window from the 6x8 version of the Butterfly Kisses paper.  I stenciled some clouds on the background and added the Ladybug Garden Doodle-pop. For the grass I borrowed some papers and stickers from the Bunny Hop Collection. To finish, I added a chit chat sentiment and some Flower Garden and Butterfly Kisses Shaped Sprinkles.

For my second card I cut the same window from the 6x8 version of the Garden Gingham paper.  I just love the smaller sized prints!  They're perfect for cards.   I inked a background in green, and then added the sweet Cup of Cheer Doodle Pop.  Again to finish, I added some Butterfly Kisses Shaped Sprinkles and a Chit Chat sentiment.

My last card also used a cloud stenciled background and some grass from the Bunny Hop Collection.  I added the Fun Guys Doodle-pop (love the pun), A sweet butterfly from the Bitty Bugs Shaped sprinkles and a puffy word sticker.

I love all the dimension in these cards, and of course all the cuteness of the Butterfly Kisses collection.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

LUCKY ME DOODLE POP CARDS | with Karen

I love bright and bold colour so it should come as no surprise that I adore Doodlebug's Lucky Me collection. The colours reminds me of my childhood - candy, toys and joy! So today I wanted to focus on creating some cards that had that same feel.

While I am usually all over the patterned paper as a background for my cards, I also find it a lot of fun to keep the backgrounds simple to draw attention to the fun characters that you can find in Doodlebug collections. So for this set, I grabbed some of the white bases from the Rainbow Cards & Envelopes to build upon.

And considering the intention of these cards was to feature cute characters, I couldn't help but use some of the adorable Doodle-pops that coordinate with this collection, like this one called Lucky Charm.

To create more dimension, I layered the Doodle-pops on top of some tags I cut from the St. Paddy's Plaid - 12x12 patterned paper. I love it when Doodlebug includes tags like this on their 12x12 patterned paper because they are always the perfect size for cards! I also added some fun die cuts from the Lucky Me- All the Things pack for a little bit of interest and piled it all on top of a cute mini doily.

Finally, I topped off some of the tags with a few Mini Paperclips and some Sprinkles from the Lucky Me assortment park.

I feel like these cards turned out exactly as I had hoped - straight out of a childhood dream. Playful, fun, bright - Doodlebug for the win once again! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

LUCKY ME FLORAL CARDS | with Karen

So, up here in Calgary, we have been having a really mild winter. In fact, it has been so mild that recently plants started emerging from their winter sleep - that is unheard of in February up here. But, as is with life, winter struck again and we are living in a deep freeze...our little plants hiding beneath the snow (don't worry - they will be okay...even the plants up here are a hardy bunch). The great part about crafting is that I don't have to rely on Mother Nature for beautiful blooms any time of the year. Get out some beautiful Doodlebug paper from the new Lucky Me collection and some Rainbow Textured cardstock, and I can put the winter blues behind me!

    

So that is is exactly what I did for this set of cards! Featuring die cuts from the Doodle Cuts Bunch of Luck, I used the Rainbow Textured cardstock to cut out each of these beautiful blooms.

   

I then added some patterned paper from the Lucky Me 6x8 paper pad as a base on top of some of the card bases from Rainbow Cards & Envelopes set. I just love the beautifully coloured envelopes that come in this pack.

 

I layered up each of the flowers, using regular liquid adhesive for the ones in the back and some foam adhesive for the ones in the front to add a bit more dimension. Finally, I added a little sentiment to each one that I fussy cut from the 6x8 paper pad and I was all set.

   

 Now my kitchen table is covered with beautiful blooms and Doodlebug colour. Spring still can come early! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

LUCKY ME POP UP CARDS | with Kathy

Sitting here waiting for the latest blizzard to hit, I can't stop thinking about spring!  The Lucky Me collection is perfect for the season, with it's bright, happy colors and pretty patterns! It's helping me deal with the forecasted 24" of snow! I decided to make some 3D pop up cards for my first project, Take a peek... 

For my first card, I chose to feature the Bunch of Luck Doodle Cuts.  I love the look of the bouquet of flowers on the packaging, and tried to recreate it in a 3D Card.  The base of my card was made with some Lily White Textured Cardstock and some Pop Up Platform dies from my stash.  I cut the flowers from a variety of papers including some from the 6x8 pad and some from the coordinating Petite Prints pack.

To make the flowers look free-standing, I adhered them to pieces of acetate in a staggard manner so they looked like a bouquet.  The sentiment was done using the tag die from this set and the hello die from the You Are My Sunshine Doodle Cuts.

My second card features the dies from the You are My Sunshine Doodle Cuts.  I love a rainbow!  I pieced it together with some coordinating petite prints and papers from the collection. 

I love the SUNSHINE letters in the set!  With the outline cut, they're so fun!  The little heart is from the Bubblegum Heart Puffy Shapes.
