COLOR ME CRAFTY CUSTOM PLACE CARDS | with Tarrah

A burst of color, personality, and handmade charm — that’s exactly what these custom place cards deliver. Using the gorgeous Color Me Crafty collection, each card becomes a tiny celebration of creativity, friendship, and the joy of making pretty things. Perfect for group events, they instantly make everyone feel seen and included. They’re more than labels — they’re keepsakes.

Each card starts with a sturdy base using various papers from the Color Me Crafty '6 x 8' paper pack. From there, the magic happens:

Step 1: Create the place card bases:

  • Cut cardstock rectangles for the base - mine measure 3.25 inches x 3.75 inches

  • Score and fold each piece in half to create a tent‑style card.

  • Burnish the fold with a bone folder so they stand nicely.

Step 2: Add patterned paper layers:

  • Trim patterned paper panels slightly smaller than the front of your card base.

  • Mix and match patterns—stripes, dots, icons—but keep colors coordinated.

  • Adhere the panels to the front of each base with tape.

Step 3: Build the name panel:

  • Cut a solid cardstock strip or label shape to hold the name.

  • Die‑cut or add alphabet stickers for the person’s name.

  • Center the name on the strip and adhere.

  • Attach the name panel to the card front—use foam tape for dimension.

Step 4: Add some fun words:

  • Choose a word or phrase (BESTIE, FUN, CRAFTY, HAPPY, FRIENDS, LOVE, etc.).

  • Die‑cut or sticker the letters and place them under or beside the name.

  • Layer on a small banner or label behind the word to make it pop.

Step 5: Decorate with crafty icons:

  • Pick icons that match the Color Me Crafty theme—scissors, rulers, cameras, hearts, flowers, paint brushes, etc.

  • Cluster embellishments around the name and word, tucking some behind layers and popping others up with foam tape.

  • Balance the design by spreading color and shapes across the card (top, bottom, left, right).

Step 6: Add finishing touches:

  • Include tiny details like enamel dots, hearts, or small stickers to fill any empty spots.

  • Check dimension—make sure nothing overhangs so much that the card won’t stand or store easily.

  • Gently press everything down so the adhesive grabs well.

  • Machine stitch along the strip of paper and the top of the scalloped border sticker for a handmade touch.

The result is a lineup of cheerful, layered place cards that look like tiny art pieces — perfect for brightening any creative space.

Perfect for group events, they instantly make everyone feel seen and included. They’re more than labels — they’re keepsakes.

COLOR ME CRAFTY ONE SHEET MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

Have you ever discovered a project on socials and immediately thought, "I must make this!"?  That's what happened to me when I saw a fun one-sheet mini album tutorial by @kmaliche on Instagram.  It's such a fun design, and I thought it would be a great project using the Color Me Crafty collection.  How fun would it be to make this at a crop?

The base of the  album is made up of one 12x12 sheet of cardstock, scored and cut according to the directions given in the tutorial.  You then decorate "pages" on both sides of the paper before folding it into a book.  Here are the back and front of the page decorated, before they were folded into shape.  There are 12 pages in the book, six on each side of the folded paper.

Once you've decorated all the sections, the page folds up into a fun mini that ties together.  Below are the pages of the book while folded....

For my cover, I chose to mix and match some of the Puffy Word Stickers for my title.  I then added stickers from the Icon Sticker Sheet.

My back cover is decorated with one of the Odds & Ends and a word sticker from the This & That sticker sheet.

When you open the album, you find lots of fun pages full of flippies, pockets and plenty of room for your crop photos!  I covered the pages with a variety of papers from the collection and decorated with This & That, Odds & Ends, Chit Chats, Bits &  Pieces, Shaped Sprinkles, Icon and Puffy Stickers.

The tags from the Colorway Double sided cardstock fit perfectly into the book, and I just love the tabs from the Bits & Pieces!!

I love how the tutorial creates gussets so that you can layer in the album without it being bulky!  I created a fun flip through video, because everything is better in motion!!

I am so happy with how this came out!  Now to fill it with some fun crop photos.  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!

COLOR ME CRAFTY ONE PAGE MINI ALBUM | with Conny

Hello crafty friends!  It’s Conny here from The Daily Life of Creativity, and today I’m back sharing another project using the colorful and fun Color Me Crafty collection.

Let's get started! For this project, I created this adorable mini album that’s perfect for documenting crafty retreats, crop weekends, creative friends, and all those special crafting memories.

The album measures 4” x 5¾”. To create the base, I started with one sheet of the Color Me Crafty Solid Assortment textured cardstock in purple. I scored the 12” side at 4” and 8”. Then I turned the cardstock and scored at 5¾” and 6¼” to create a ½” spine.

Next, I trimmed away the ½” sections on both ends and folded everything accordion-style so the pages alternate from top to bottom, creating a fun zig-zag interactive structure. You can absolutely make this album using only the 6” x 8” paper pad, but I wanted the covers to be a little sturdier, so I added chipboard covers. The chipboard pieces were trimmed to 4” x 5¾” and covered with papers from the 6" x 8" paper pad measuring 6 3/4" x 5". I chose the adorable icon print for one side and the floral pattern for the other, which coordinates beautifully with the colorful theme.

For the inside pages, I layered patterned papers, cardstock mats, and photo mats throughout the album. The larger photo mats measure approximately 3½” x 5¼”, making them perfect for photos from your favorite crafty adventures. For the cover, I used the Just a Note Doodle-Pop along with the BFF's Doodle-Pop. I layered them with stickers from the This & That sticker sheet, added a few puffy hearts and icons, and finished everything with dimension using foam adhesive.

Before attaching the chipboard covers to the album base, I secured this beautiful rainbow ribbon closure. I found it online, and I think it coordinates perfectly with all the bright and cheerful colors in the Color Me Crafty collection.

I absolutely love how colorful and interactive this mini album turned out, and I think it’s the perfect place to document crafty retreats, classes, crop weekends, and all those wonderful memories made with creative friends.

Let me know what you think, and I’ll see you again soon with another crafty project!
Xo, Conny!

COLOR ME CRAFTY 12x12 PAGE LAYOUT | with Traci

Hello crafty friends!  It's Traci and I'm excited to be on the blog today with another Color Me Crafty project!  Aren't you just loving this new collection?? Oh my goodness, the colors and the adorable icons and patterns are so much fun to create with!  Today I'm sharing a 12x12 page that I plan to add photos to after an upcoming retreat.

I absolutely love how a stripe looks as the base of a page, so I layered the sheet called Colorway with citrus and white pieces of card stock.  I cut some circle shapes with my Cricut out of Bubblegum card stock and added them to the center of my background.

Crafty Weekend Girl was the perfect title for my page.  These pieces come in the Chit Chat pack along with 99 (!) other adorable phrases, word strips, and cute sentiments.
The flowers are from the Bits & Pieces pack, and those fun scissors are from the Odds & Ends.  Die cuts are my favorite crafty embellishment, well ... next to enamel dots and sprinkles of course!  :)

How cute is that layered camera, flowers, and photos piece!!?  That is also in the Bits & Pieces and it fit perfectly clustered over my colorful little photo mats.  Some shape sprinkles, a couple This and That stickers, and a few more die cuts finished off my page.  I love all of the color and can't wait to add my pictures!

I hope my page has inspired you to create something fun with Color Me Crafty!

COLOR ME CRAFTY - CRAFTY FRIENDS LAYOUT | with Inessa

I'm back with my second 12x12 scrapbook layout featuring the Color Me Crafty collection! It's perfect for documenting all of your crops, craft days with friends and events.

I started with the "plaid it's purple" paper as my foundation. Next, I trimmed a sheet of lily white cardstock to approximately 11½" x 11½" and adhered it to the pink floral side of the "rows of ribbons" paper.  I trimmed around it leaving about a ⅛" border around the edge.

For the focal point of the layout, I cut out two tags from the "colorway" paper. After hole punching the tops, I threaded them with limeade and cupcake doodle twine. I added 3" x 3" photos to the front of each tag and layered them on the right side of the layout. When positioning the tags, be sure to leave some room above and below for embellishments, banners, florals, and the title.

On the left side of the page, I created a decorative accent using a block from the "crafty colors" paper. To give the appearance that it was wrapped around the page, I added cupcake doodle twine across the top and bottom and finished it with small bows for an extra touch of whimsy.

For the title, I used the chit chat pack to spell out "Crafty Friends." The title is adhered with foam adhesive to add dimension and help it stand out from the background.

To finish the layout, I embellished with florals from the Bits and Pieces pack along with a mix of BFFs and Tools of the Trade doodle pops. The dimensional embellishments add so much personality and tie the crafty theme together perfectly.  A few puffy icon hearts and sprinkles add cute and fun details.

This bright and cheerful design is a great way to celebrate the special friendships we make through crafting while showcasing favorite photos from crops, retreats, and creative adventures together.

COLOR ME CRAFTY BESTIES LAYOUT | with Tya

There are some photos that instantly make me smile, and this one of me and sweet Cynthea is definitely one of them. Thirteen years ago, she took a chance on me and invited me to be part of her design team. Little did I know that I would not only become part of an amazing company, but I would also gain a lifelong friend. Anyone who knows Cynthea knows how lucky they are to have her in their circle. I am so grateful for her kindness, encouragement, and the special place she holds in my heart. The bright and cheerful Color Me Crafty collection was absolutely perfect for documenting this treasured friendship.

For the foundation of my layout, I chose a bold black Textured Cardstock background that really allows all of the colorful papers to shine. Rainbow strips from the Crafty Colors paper across the top bring in lots of happy color, while patterned layers frame my favorite photo of the two of us. I added a “BESTIE” title from the Odds and Ends across the bottom of the photo and tucked in a floral cluster to balance the design. This page is such a happy celebration of a friendship I cherish.

I love how the main focal area came together with all of the crafty details. A sticker from the This and That sticker sheet that reads “Crafty Friends are the Best Friends” anchors the lower corner of the photo, and I layered a cute camera and paintbrush on top of a ViewMaster icon underneath. These are from the Odds and Ends and Bits and Pieces die cuts. Twine tied around the brush adds texture and dimension, and all of those colorful elements perfectly capture our shared love of creating together.

At the top right of the photo, I created a bright floral cluster using oversized blooms from the Bits and Pieces. Decorative Sprinkles add a fun finishing touch and bring even more color to the page. Above the photo, I tucked in a row of colorful albums and a sweet “Love This” tab, giving the layout lots of playful office-inspired charm. The Tab is from the Bits and Pieces, and the Love This is a sticker found on the This and That sticker sheet.

One of my favorite details on this page is the border along the top. I paired the rainbow striped Crafty Colors paper with the adorable button and flower border strip from the Magical Memories paper and added black and white twine between the layers. The contrast against the black background really makes those happy colors pop. I also scattered several flower and button die cuts from the Odds and Ends around the page, tying tiny bows through them for extra texture and whimsy. Those little touches add so much movement and playful personality to the design.

Another fun detail is the sweet clipboard embellishment tucked into a pocket, both found in the Bits and Pieces die cuts. I added the purple heart sticker from the This and That sticker sheet; it adds a cute pop of dimension and reinforces the friendship theme that runs throughout the page. I love how these office-inspired elements tie in perfectly with the crafty theme of the collection.
On the clipboard is a handwritten note sharing just how much Cynthea means to me. Some friendships are truly gifts, and Cynthea is one of mine. I wanted to capture how grateful I am for her sweet friendship and the special place she holds in my heart. Including hidden journaling is one of my favorite ways to preserve those heartfelt thoughts that make these memories even more meaningful.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this page inspires you to document one of your own special crafty friends using the adorable Color Me Crafty collection. These friendships and memories are truly priceless, and they deserve to be celebrated and preserved for years to come. I hope I’ve encouraged you to scrapbook those special people who make this hobby even more wonderful—because memories like these are treasures worth holding onto. Happy crafting!

COLOR ME CRAFTY DISC BOUND ALBUM | with Niella

Hi crafty friends! I am so excited to show you my latest project using the brand new Color Me Crafty collection! If you love color, crafty icons, fun elements and all the things, you will adore this amazing collection.  The colors remind me of Caboodles, Polly Pocket and holds so much fun!  Stay tuned to see my video showcase of my sweetiful 6x4" disc-bound mini album! Each page is a delight!

The front cover actually was the last page I created! I could not decide what to do until I came across this pile of photos ephemera piece in the odds & ends pack.  It looks perfectly paired with the "memories" layered Doodle-pop doesn't it! To elevate the cluster, I added some mini icon stickers. So cute!

To create the ticket shaped pages, I've cut the pages to 6x4 and using a 3/4" circle punch, I notched the top and bottom centers and each corner.  Easy peasy! Then once I have my eight page bases, I've then gone ahead and decorated them with stitching, layering, building clusters and sprinkled crafty goodness through out! With so much paper goodness in each Doodlebug collection, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Thank you again for visiting crafty crew! I hope you found some inspiration today! Please remember to tag Doodlebug Design in your Socials when you create with our products so we can all admire your creativity! We love seeing your creations! Until next time; doodle dee!  Enjoy my video showcase!
