Sweet Summer | Summer Planner Set Up with Jomell

There's just something about this Sweet Summer collection that makes me want to go to the beach and enjoy a refreshing Sangria. The colors are fun and bright and it's perfect for my Summer Planner Set Up.
It was so hard choosing which pieces to use from the odds & ends for my Summer Dashboard. After going through all the elements, I finally settled for the bike, palm tree, beach signs, surf board and the seagull.

I used fun summer color doilies and layered the pieces. I then used adhesive foam for the seagull and the bike to give them a 3D look. The sprinkles also added a little bit more character and made it look prettier.
As you may already know by now, I love decorating my planner pockets with all kinds of goodies. They're not so functional but they are oh so cute when I open my planner, don't you agree?
Those jelly clips looks so yummy. As a planner girl, I was super excited when Doodlebug came out with jelly clips that matches with all the new collections. There are 8 total jelly clips in this collection. They come in 4 jelly clips in one pack.
I haven't made an envelope for my planners in a while so I decided to make one for my Summer set up.
I chose the Summer Fun 12x12 cardstock and I used my Envelope Punch Board to make this. It's very easy to make.
I punched holes on the side of the envelope so that I can insert it in my planner. This envelope will hold the odds & ends pieces.
All planner girls loves washi tapes. Instead of carrying multiple rolls of washi tapes with me, I laminated a small piece of the patterned paper and I wrapped the washi tapes around maybe 10 times. I then added holes on the sides to insert in my planner.
I am so ready for Summer and I can't wait to head to the beach. Thank you for stopping by.

Sweet Summer | Beach Treat Set with Brigit

The Sweet Summer collection is filled with so many wonderful beachy icons it makes it so easy to put together an adorable summertime project.

Along with the sweet summer paper collection I used some of the svg cut files, you can get these individually or in a set from Lori Whitlock's shop. Most of the paper used is from the 12 x 12 sweet summer collection pack, also used lily white, chocolate chip textured cardstock, bumblebee and maple and gingham-linen petite print.

I used Lori Whitlock's sand pail shaped box file but the shovel and sand are from the sweet summer sand pail svg. The face on the shovel just made the box that much cuter and so did the summer sprinkles used for the cheeks. For the pail handle, I used a border from the punch plaid sheet and tied the shovel around it with some tangerine chunky twine. The boombox and cassettes are from the icon sticker sheet and the speech bubble from the chit chat pack.

I made the shaped card using the sweet summer bikini svg filling in the middle section and adding an outline layer and welding them together. The two little cassettes and music note are from the boom box doodle-pop, glasses, and flower from the icon sticker sheet and speech bubble from the chit chat pack. I think it made such a cute card.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Sweet Summer | Sweet Summer Layout by Tya

Who else is so excited for summer? I love the warmer weather, the trips to the pool, and most of all the yummy summer foods we get to eat. We have the BEST shaved ice shack close to our house and we find ourselves there several times a week to get our fruity fix!  The Sweet Summer collection was just perfect for recording this special memory. I loved all the fruit icons in the collection and had to make a layout of  my daughter and niece enjoying their treat.
Here are some close ups:

The colors of this collection were just perfect! I loved the bright pinks! I love layering different pattern papers throughout my layouts. Placing my photo on a banner right in the center really makes it the first thing you look at , and that is just what I wanted! I love when my photos can take center stage :)  Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to go grab a shaved ice, and create a layout! You won't regret it! Happy Crafting!

Sweet Summer | Planner Page Fun with Anabelle

Summer is right around the corner and I am getting my planner ready with the fun "Sweet Summer" collection. It is so bright and cheery and filled with all things happy.
I started off by decorating my pockets. One of my favorite things about the Doodlebug Design collections is that there are different 'themes' within each. I decided to go with a little fruity, drink motif for this planner. I love the die cuts and the little 3 by 4 card and decided to make them the focal of the pocket. I added some clips and sprinkles stickers, too.
If you haven't noticed, I absolutely love Planner Clips. I enjoy making my own and was thrilled when Doodlebug began producting the Jelly Clips! I decided to make a planner clip holder to keep in the front of my binder. It was so easy. I simply used one of the cards from the card pack.
I simply added some die cuts and stickers to the card and punched holes in it to add on top of my dashboard. On the inside, I stapled a strip of paper on the ends. I finished up with some Abigail letter stickers.
Here's a peek at the inside. All you have to do is slide the cute clips to the paper strip and you are good to go. Now I can swap out my clips anytime I want.
Here is a view of the back of the clip holder and of the dashboard that I created. I absolutely adore that plaid paper!
Finally, I had to create planner clips using these adorable little guys! To do so, I added a jewel to each of the Doodlepop stickers. Then I hot glued them to the paperclip, adding a small punched circle of cardstock to the back to cover the glue.

My planner is ready to go. Now if only this wet, dreary spring weather would cooperate!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sweet Summer | Mini Album by Traci

It feels like summer here in Georgia and I couldn't be more ready!   Don't get me wrong, spring is a beautiful time of year, but I've had enough pollen and I'm ready for some sunshine without the sneezing!  This is why my newest mini album makes me so happy!  Summer fun here I come!
I decided on yellow (think sunshine) and lots of Odds & Ends and Chit Chat for the cover.  I can't get enough of these adorable die cuts, and when you pair them with chunky twine and sprinkles?  Cuteness!!
Another thing I love about the Sweet Summer collection?  Well, I grew up in the 80's ... big hair, big shoulder pads, and a boombox on the beach with a collection of mix tapes.  Need I say more?
What could be cuter than smiley-faced fruit??  Okay ... true, everything Doodlebug puts a smiley face on is cute!
I like to add lined journaling spots throughout my albums.  This paper comes in the Simple Stories binder that I used, and looks so cute covered in colorful drinks and hearts! This album is available as a DIY kit in my Etsy shop.  Visit my blog at Artsy Albums for more details, and thanks so much for stopping by today!  Come back every day for lots of Sweet Summer inspiration from the team!

Sweet Summer | Summer Fun layout with Anita

Beach photos and the Sweet Summer collection go hand in hand with bright summery colors and icons that are perfect for holidays near the water.
Step 1: For my Summer Fun layout I started with white card-stock and the Cabana Stripe patterned paper as I wanted the colourful stripes down each side of the page. I trimmed the white card on both sides and adhered it onto the patterned paper leaving two different margins of the stripes showing through.
Step 2: To create layers behind my photo I created tags from more of the patterned paper and punched holes in the top with the addition of eyelets and Bubblegum Twine.

Step 3: I mounted my photo using patterned paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad and centred it over the tags.  To complete the framing of the photo I added a crepe paper ruffle and border stickers from the This n That sticker sheet.

Step 4: The title was created using die-cut card pieces from the Chit Chat pack which I decided to run vertical down the side of the photo. I then felt the layout needed a pop more yellow so used the Pineapple Jelly Clip to give that hint more color.

Step 5: Final step was to add some embellishments to give that last hint of interest to the page. I used die cuts from the Odds & Ends pack down the right hand side of my photo along with Icon Stickers  and Sprinkles as the finishing touch.

Sweet Summer | Holiday Mini Album with Caroli

Some years ago I had the luck of spending a few weeks with my family in Brazil, in a little town called Buzios. This was our first vacations abroad as a family of three so we really enjoyed our time away. I decided recently that it was time I created a mini album to capture the special moments of our journey before the memories were lost altogether.

I printed some journaling pages on vellum, and then I embellished them a bit using Shape Sprinkles and Icon Stickers. I repeated this in few more pages on the album.

I had this large photo of my sweet three year old that I really wanted to include in the album, but since the pages were 10x10 it didn't fit. Therefor, I decided to cut the pic in two pieces and using washi tape I joined it back together in a way that would create a flap that could be folded back in on itself.

I included some of the diecuts from the Odds & Ends pack to use as tags in different parts of the album which I thought looked so cute.

I used Abigail alpha and also Teensy Typo Alpha in Lily White to highlight the place name of where each photo was taken. I like to mix different kind of alphas to make my composition more interesting.

The fruit icons are definitively my fave in this collection as they are so fresh and sweet with their little faces! I used them a lot throughout the pages.

I combined different embellishments to use as decoration including Odds & Ends, Chit Chat, Shape Sprinkles and Icon Stickers. I also used foam dots for adhering some of my embellishments as this way the design has more dimension.

I hope you liked this mini and get inspired to start using the Sweet Summer collection for your Summer holiday photos. If you have any questions please leave a comment! Have a fabulous day!
