PRETTY KITTY STAMPED CARDS | with Karen

Ummmmmm...I am a dog person. I swear I am a dog person. But as a dog person, I think it is very important to make a confession here. I now want cat. You see, here is the problem. Doodlebug's new Pretty Kitty collection arrived on my doorstep and I was immediately smitten. Yup - smitten for these kittens. And now I need a cat - to justify at least 5 of these collections in my crafty stash!

all-three-Start

The good news is that I do have cat lovers in my life, so I decided to make a set of cards that I could share with them. So out came the Pretty Kitty stamps and I got to work.

Closeup-1

I started by layering some of the patterned papers and Bits and Pieces on the coordinating coordinating Cards and Envelopes. And then, with a little masking, I started to create a few scenes with the stamps. There are all sorts of cute stamps that you can use to layer in this set - a chair, pet bed, accessories...it really is kitty paradise.

Closeup-2

But if you are not into masking when you stamp, don't worry - the kitty stamps and accessories stand alone beautifully too! Just use the coordinating die cuts and you will be all set like I did on this card.

All-3-End

Yup - these little cuties are really calling my name. Oh Doodlebug, what have you done?! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

PRETTY KITTY ALL OCCASION CARDS | with Niella

Incoming cuteness alert! Hey there crafty crew, it's Niella here with the very latest Doodlebug Design collection - Pretty Kitty! It is everything adorable and if you haven't already, get ready to want a sweet fur baby! For my first project using this new collection, I've used the Pretty Kitty Cards & Envelopes assortment pack which provides you with 6 different sized greeting cards and 6 coloured envelopes to create with! Meow :-)

Everything was easy to put together and once you start playing you'll be creating a great card set in no time at all :-) I made three greeting cards - Purr-fect for celebrating a job well done, a congratulations on welcoming a new fur baby card and a general best friend card. Any of these could be matched to your next occasion and gifting!

Can you spot the sweet window awning? I've done this by popping the window diecut on foam adhesive then folding over a piece of cardstock over it to give it a 3-D look! That cute tweety bird is happily singing away.

For this darling Fur Baby Congrats card, I've used a scallop edge die from my stash to cut off the bottom of the card.  I then layered two contrasting patterned papers and added the Alphabet Puffy Stickers! Then I decorated my card with the 6x6 patterned pad and some Odds & Ends.

And finally for this purr-fect greeting card, I layered the scallop stickers from the This & That 12x12 sticker sheet alongside some Odds & Ends, puffy stickers and the Bits & Pieces tags.  I finished with a Sprinkle as a faux brad!

Never be short on greeting cards again by creating your own! Remember to tag Doodlebug Design on your Pretty Kitty projects on your socials so we can all see and admire! Until next time; doodle-dee!

PRETTY KITTY THE CUTEST LITTLE FRIEND LAYOUT | with Lisa

Need a cute collection to scrap your beloved pets? Well Doodlebug's got what you need. Two brand new collections, one cat themed, the other dog themed, called Pretty Kitty and Doggone Cute. I created a layout using Pretty Kitty, showcasing the lovely patterns of the 6x6 paper pad.

I wanted to use a lot of the different patterns, because I just love the cute patterns and colors of the collection. So I cut out a few squares of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad and then hand cut all the letters that I needed, to write "The cutest little friend".

I arranged the letters on the paper in a way that I liked, also including the photo. The shape that resulted from that, was a bit like rectangle, so I decided to use a few more embellishments to fill out this rectangle. I cut out three hearts from patterned papers and I used the Here Kitty Kitty Shaker Pop. I matted my photo on a few scrap pieces.

Then I started to adhere everything, the photo and all the letters. To make the letters more interesting and give them more dimension, I bend them a little bit and only added a bit of glue to the middle, so that they wouldn't lie flat on the paper. After adhering all the main pieces, I went through my embellishments and chose jewels, enamel dots, enamel shapes an stickers. I added them to the letters, trying to match the colors.

To add some last details, I added some tangled thread and pink splatters.

I love creating layouts with big letters, it always looks cute and colorful.
I hope you like it too and are inspired to try it out.

PRETTY KITTY MY CUTE KITTEN MINI ALBUM | with Miguel

Pets are very special so the time has come to make cute projects for them! Today I made a mini album to place the photos of those cute kittens with the Pretty Kitty collection.

It is a very original album since it is inside a box of kittens haha. I decorated my box with odds & ends and lined with wood-look eco-leather.

The album is made with an accordion shape that will allow me to place a cute photo of my pet in each quadrant.

The spines are decorated with some paper from the collection and golden cardboard to give it more sturdiness.

I say goodbye as always hoping and you like my project very much, and invite you to continue creating with the beautiful Doodlebug collections.

PRETTY KITTY PICTURE PURRRFECT LAYOUT | with Nathalie

We love our fur babies, and Doodlebug has created the perfect collections to document all those happy memories they add to our lives. Today, I am using the new Pretty Kitty collection to document our cat-nephew, "Chico".

I have had this idea for a while, and finally put it to work in this project. I am sure a few of you have Shadow Box Insert Kit, well, I put my Pretty Kitty one to work in this page.

I started by cutting a circle out of the white cardstock and vellum -that comes in the kit-. My idea was to add the picture in the center of the design without covering the embellishments; so, I cut the design in half and added the embellishments being careful to add and move a few more to fill the space.

Once, I had the two pieces filled, I added them to patterned paper adding the extra space in the center - think of it as an oval shape . Then I fussy cut the image with a bit of an offset.

I glued the image to a Petite Print paper, then followed up with the photo. I added a piece of Chit Chat and Bits & Pieces to make the title. A few stickers and puffy stickers complete the page. To finish the page, I framed the layout with more patterned paper.

I love how this turned out! and my cat-nephew looks great as the highlight of the page. Be sure to check the new Pretty Kitty collection, you will love it!! XO

PRETTY KITTY COZY KITTIES BOX CARD TUTORIAL | with Kathy

I am so excited for the Pretty Kitty Collection!  I have always had kitties... and currently I'm cat mom to two fuzzbutts... Rosie & Jax.  I fell in love with the new Cozy Kitties Doodle Cuts and decided to make a 3D Box card using them well because kitties and I love making 3D cards!.  Take a peek...

How cute are those kitties!!!!  I used papers from the Pretty Kitty collection to make the chairs, along with some of the new Candy Stripe - Sprinkles Petite Prints for my kitties.  The sentiments were made with my Silhouette, I created a print and cut file for the word bubbles. I wanted customized sayings, but there are also lots of fun speech bubbles and sentiments in the Chit Chat pieces!  Here are some close ups....

Who can resist a punny sentiment... not me! The cute little mouse toy is from the Icon stickers sheet.  These cards also fold flat for mailing...

And for all those cat-moms out there... the purrfect Mother's Day Card!  These really were fun to make!  I've outlined the steps I used below....

I started by cutting three of the big chair pieces, eight of the chair leg pieces, the cushion piece, and the arms of the chair.  I also cut two strips... one measuring 7/8" x 7" and the second 7/8" x 3.25"

Next I created the chair legs.  For each let, I glued 2 of the legs together, right sides out.  I did this to give them a little more strength.

Glue two of the doubled chair legs to the wrong side of one of the chairs.  I aligned the top of the chair leg with the center of the chair bottom.  Then glue another of the chair pieces to this, right sides together.  This gives the card a stronger base and a more finished look.

Next, take the last chair piece and cut it as shown.  I measured approximately 1 1/4" from the bottom of the chair.  You can discard the topmost part of the chair.

Glue the remaining legs to the "wrong" side of the chair, aligning them as you did on the other side.  Let them dry.
Turn that piece over, and add the chair cushion, centered, and aligned with the top side.  I used pop dots for this to give it a bit more dimension.
Add the chair arms as shown.  Again, I used pop dots to add these.
Next, I worked on the "box" part of the card.  First, score the longer strip of paper at 2 1/4", 3 1/4", 5 1/2", and 6 1/2".  Fold along the score lines (all in the same direction and create a little box.  Glue in place using the tab.
Score the 3 1/4" piece at 1/2" and at 2 3/4"

Insert the smaller piece into the box you created, gluing the tabs of the insert to the inside walls of the box.
Glue the front of the chair you created to the longer side of the box, aligning the top of the box with the chair cushion.
Finally glue the back of the chair to the opposite side, making sure that everything is straight.

Now all that is left is to choose which kitties you want to piece together, and to glue them to the insert inside the box!

If you make any of these, please tag both Doodlebug Design and me (@kathy_skou) I would love to see your creations!!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

PRETTY KITTY HERE KITTY KITTY MINI ALBUM | with Traci

Hey guys, Traci here and today I'm sharing a super fun mini album I made with the paw-sitively adorable new Pretty Kitty Collection. Ohhhh, this line is so cute! I started creating this album minutes after opening the box. I love it and can't wait for you to see all the sweet details ...

I used a 6.5 x 6.5" Prima album and packed it full of Doodlebug goodies. On the cover, I added 4 adorable little cat die cuts. Which, by the way, are all sitting at attention like they're waiting for something to happen, lol. So cute! Love them and that scallop paw print sticker from the This & That sheet.

There are so many great kitties in the Odds & Ends pack. So, whether you have one cat or a bunch ... you can easily find one that looks like your little fur ball. What a great way to customize your project.

Inside, I used a mix of the colorful 6x6 prints and the 12x12 card sheets. On this page, I made a 3x3 inch flippie using a card from the Pretty Plaid paper. I added the die cut pieces on top with foam tape and a saying from the This & That sticker sheet.

Cats are so entertaining so, be sure to document their silly moments on the journaling cards. I love adding these throughout my albums. Here, I folded one into a flippie, creating a spot for a photo on the outside and note taking on the inside.

The kitty in the laundry basket above is so cute. How funny is it that Doodlebug included some stray socks!! I love that.

The papers in this collection are perfect for photos of your feline friends but they're also great for other projects. Like the pretty floral print, the adorable plaid, and of course my favorite, the bold stripe!

I used the tag paper from the 6x6 paper pad to add a cute border along two of my fold out pages — I love all the color this adds down the side of the page.

The 6x6 paper pad is great for smaller sized projects like mini albums, greeting cards, bookmarks, gift card holders, place cards, etc. Those tiny flowers and paw prints are adorable but also ... the 6x6 size fits perfectly in my album!

If you'd like to make this cute album for yourself or a friend, the kit is available in my shop  over at Artsy Albums (link below).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have fun with this fantastic Pretty Kitty Collection!

PRETTY KITTY YOU & ME LAYOUT | with Erica

Today I am going to share a 12x12 scrapbook layout using the new Pretty Kitty collection but document our sweet pup Lola!

This collection is everything I want in a dog collection for our princess Lola but with kitties! So I am going to take this kitty themed collection and use it for my girl! I love the soft colors and beautiful florals in this collection! Our girl Lola is a red nosed Pitbull and she is such a girly girl so I need a collection to match her personality!

I started with a cut out and backed it with papers in the Pretty Kitty 6x6 paper pad. I adhered the backed file to piece of white textured cardstock that was trimmed down to 10.75"x10.75". This was then matted onto two different pattern papers from the Pretty Kitty collection.

Florals are one of my favorite things to embellish my layouts with so I pulled in the Bits & Pieces from the Cute & Crafty collection! I also pulled in a few things from the new Doggone Cute collection!

This layout was a quick and easy layout to put together and I just love how it turned out! I just love all the pretty colors and patterns in the backed cut file and the 12x12 floral paper that frames the layout is just perfect for my sweet Lola!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you are inspired to use this Pretty Kitty collection in a different way!
