SUMMER FUN FLIP FLOP MINI ALBUM | With Traci

Hello Doodlebug friends! Traci here and today, I'm sharing a colorful new mini album that's shaped like cute little flip flops. I created it with the Summer Fun Collection and one of its SVG files. It's perfect for photos of a summer vacation, backyard fun, a swimming pool, the beach, summer camp, boating, and any warm weather activity!

To create the shape, I used the Summer Fun, Flip Flops cutting file (link below). I welded the flip flops together in my Silhouette software and sized the shape to approx. 5.75" x 5.75". I cut the mini album covers out of white acrylic, but you could also use card stock or chipboard instead.

On the front, I added two flip flop pieces cut from the 6x8 rainbow stripe Beach Towel print. Then I added some flowers from the icon stickers, enamel stickers from the Island Tropics Shape Sprinkles, and the Aloha die cut from the Chit Chat.

Inside, I added 6 white card stock pages and covered them in fun papers from the 6x8 paper pad. Above I used the sunny Summer Fun print in the background, then added the cute 4x3 card from the 12x12 Flamazing Flock paper and the arrow from the This & That stickers.

Here, I covered the base in the Let's Luau paper. I love all those colorful flowers! I made the photo mat with a 3" scallop circle punch and 2.5" circle punch and embellished with flower die cuts from the Bit & Pieces.

On this layout, I used the 6x8 floral print called Pink Paradise and added a pretty journaling card from the 12x12 Summer School paper. The cute flamingo is a die cut from the Odds & Ends and the words are from the This & That sticker sheet.

Isn't this page cute? The plaid background is called Beach Picnic and I created a little beach scene next to the photo mat using the palm tree, crab, and sun icon stickers. Then, I finished it off with the word bubble die cut from the Chit Chat.

I added the Petite Prints Dot & Stripe in Citrus to this page. These prints are a staple in my scrapbook room and I use them in almost all my projects. And since Doodlebug uses a consistent color palette ... they coordinate perfectly with every collection!

And speaking of coordinating ... how adorable are these little fish mini icon stickers with the matching 6x8 Summer School paper used for the photo mat? Ha! Can you tell I'm having fun with this collection?

I hope you'll try this amazing Summer Fun cutting file and paper collection to create something wonderful. If you'd like to replicate this mini album and see more pages, visit my blog or check out the flip-through video on the Doodlebug or Artsy Album's Instagram. Have a great day! 😊

SEASIDE SUMMER - SUMMER CARDS | with Karen

Up here in Canada, school is finally out for the summer. So that means all sorts of fun in then sun and time at my craft table! So I was delighted to find out that my first assignment of the summer was to feature the adorable Seaside Summer Collection! This collection is filled with fun colours and adorable die cuts, and is sure to bring the sun into your day!

All-three-1b

So here's the thing - this collection has so many cute die cuts in the Odds and Ends pack that I couldn't help but feature them in some cute little scenes on a set of cards. And for these cards, it is all about the layers! Layers and layers of cute characters and shapes!

Closeup-2

For this card, I wanted to feature the "Let's Sail-ebrate" sentiment from the Chit Chat pack in this collection. I grabbed some of the tags from the Bits and Pieces pack to layer on top of the 12x12 patterned paper and then grabbed a few die cut shapes and characters that supported the theme (Hello Steven!!) to layer on top. I used some foam adhesive on these pieces to get some more dimension and to differentiate each piece from the others.

Closeup-1

Using a similar process on this card, I finished each of them off with some of the Mini Jewels - one of my favourite Doodlebug product. If you even have a project that just needs something a little "more", a few mini jewels surrounding your focal point will always do the trick!

All-three-2

These cards really are some of my favourites that I have created in awhile. This collection is really an absolute delight to work with! So if you have it hiding in your crafty stash somewhere or need to add it to the collection, don't hesitate. It will bring all sorts of sunshine into your life and the life of the people that you create for! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

GINGERBREAD KISSES HOLIDAY CARD RECIPE | with Karen

Today, I have a little recipe to share with you! It's not the cooking or baking kind though - it's the crafting kind! Because really, crafting blog posts are all about sharing the "yummy" ingredients that come together to make amazing creations. And given that Doodlebug's new Gingerbread Kisses collection is all about baking, it seemed fitting to share my favourite Doodlebug "recipe" in today's post.

  All-3-2

At my core, I am a card maker. I love dabbling in other craft projects, but at the end of the day, creating card brings me relaxation and joy. And while I love experimenting with products on my cards, there are a few Doodlebug "ingredients" I almost always use...sort of like my flour, sugar and butter of the crafting table: 6x6 patterned paper, Odds and Ends, Chit Chat and Bit's and Pieces die cuts, and when available - Cards & Envelopes.

  Odds-and-Ends

Because here's the magic - with each of these products, you have endless combinations. Create a background with the patterned paper and then layer to your hearts content with the die cuts from the different packs. I love using foam adhesive to add more dimension on each level, but for Christmas cards like these ones, I keep it a little less dimensional since they are usually going in the mail. You get to create cute little scenes with adorable sentiments and each card becomes a "one of a kind" creation.

  Mini-jewels

And then top everything off with Sprinkles or Mini-jewels like I did on this card and your yummy masterpiece is complete. Ingredients made simple by Doodlebug!

  All-3-1

While you will definitely find my in the kitchen baking away this season, I can't wait to pull together some more goodies from this recipe as well. After all, like a great cookie, you can never have too many cute cards around! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

HELLO AGAIN ODDS & ENDS CARDS | with Niella

Hello Again crafty crew! Thanks for popping in today - come see what I've created this time around! Greeting cards with the adorable Hello Again collection! This is such a versatile and fun project with all year round accents like books, butterflies, cups of tea + coffee, plants and home décor to name a few! Wow so many icons to play with and there is gold foiling too if that isn't enough.

I've been bursting at the seams to use the sweet furniture Odds & Ends pieces, I created this card to really showcase how much difference you get by strategically popping the die cuts on foam tape and off setting both the drawers and the shelf with each other and then adding the stacked books icon sticker in between and that gives an illusion of a home setting! The plant icon stickers add another visual look and I've finished the look with a speech bubble and enamel dots sprinkles. Super neat!

The base of my greeting cards is textured white cardstock and the sizes are 5.5 x 4" and
4 x 3", but you can use any size you'd like! I'm not going to slip these cards into envelopes; way too pretty for that, I'll just slip them between the ribbon/doodle-twine of my gifts!

To keep the focus on the Odds & Ends and stickers, I've backed a white cardstock piece onto patterned paper from the 6 x 6" paper pad, machine stitched around the edge and then mounted them onto foam sheets and adhered onto my card base. The simple machine stitch just adds that extra detail + texture.

How adorable are these butterflies! Each is glued down the middle so the wings can be popped up so they are "flying" and that chit chat ephemera HELLO speech bubble is simple and to the point :-) That rainbow butterfly has my heart!

I had fun  creating with this collection and have more ideas coming up! Can't wait to see what you are going to create. Please remember to tag us in on your Doodlebug Design projects on all your Socials so we can see! Thanks for stopping by y'all! Until next time; doodle-doo!

CANDY CANE LANE CHRISTMAS CARDS | with Karen

It's Christmas card season! This is the time of the year that I spend a few days cursing the fact that I have put off making my Christmas cards so long, and then transform into the happy crafter as I pull out my new Doodlebug collection and get to it. Because nothing can ruin a crafting mood, even a time crunch, when you have Doodlebug to work with!

All-three-2

And the new Candy Cane Lane collection does not disappoint. This collection is filled with the most amazing icons and cute characters that are perfect for card crafting. You can create cute outdoor scenes with houses and adorable vehicles, and inside scenes feature Santa, plants and furniture. It's like you have stepped inside "Santa's village", only cuter!

Outside-closeup-card

For this first set of cards, I decided to use the Odds &Ends pack to see what I could create. There are so many shapes to work with that you can layer to your heart's content. Add a little foam adhesive for some dimension and you have a set of adorable cards that are still mailable!

Inside-card

And don't worry - if you over-do-it with the cute images on the front (really, is that even possible??!!) you can always add a sentiment on the inside with one of the Chit Chat pieces! I actually love the way these banner pieces add some character to the inside of the card too. The card bases I used are all from the coordinating Cards & Envelopes - Christmas assortment.

All-three-1

Now the only problem I have is that I am still putting off my crafty projects as I spend time flipping through everything admiring all the details and deciding what to hoard...I mean "collect"...I mean "store for later use." The life of a crafter is hard! Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

FARMERS MARKET BOX CARDS | with Kathy

I hope all of our followers had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!  Personally, I ate too much and spent too much on my holiday shopping, but it was wonderful to have family home!  I also got some time in the craft room to play some more with the Farmers Market Collection.  I was picking through the adorable Odds & Ends and found the cutest little paper bag full of veggies, and I thought it would make a cute 3D Box Card.  I came up with two different versions... take a peek...

For my first card, I used the floral pieces from the Bits & Pieces pack to fill my bag.  For the base of my card, I altered this file from Lori Whitlock.  I added handles and my own inserts, and lots and lots of flowers!  I layered many and added some foam dots for more dimension.

To finish it, I added a Chit Chat sentiment and some of the Honey Bees and Fall Flowers Shaped Sprinkles.

My next card was made to resemble the cute paper bag of veggies from the Odds & Ends pack.  I used the same base file for the bag, and then chose the cutest of the veggies to add to my card.

To complete, I added the Hello sign from the Chit Chat pieces.  How fun are those little smiles?

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

WINTER WONDERLAND SNOWMAN FUN LAYOUT | with Erica

Happy Wednesday friends! Erica here with you today sharing a 12x12 Winter scrapbook layout featuring the beautiful Winter Wonderland collection!

I really wanted to go crazy with snowflakes on this layout so I pulled out the Winter Wonderland Odds & Ends and the Mix & Match Snowflakes. I started by assembling 3 of the large Mix & Match Snowflakes. I pulled out a piece of white cardstock that I trimmed down to 11x11 and matted it onto the Nightfall pattern paper. I then matted my layout onto the beautiful Cozy Cardigan 12x12 paper.

Vertical Designs are one of my favorites so I had that in mind when creating this page. I laid out the large Mix & Match snowflakes first. Then I placed snowflakes from the Winter Wonderland Odds & Ends pack all along the left side of my page. This pack of Odds & Ends includes cardstock and acetate pieces.

For some added dimension I popped up some of the snowflakes using foam adhesive. Once I had a good amount of die cut pieces down I pulled in some different packs of Doodlebug Shape Sprinkles.

My photos fit nicely in the center of all the snowflake goodness! I backed them with a piece of pattern paper from the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper pad.

For my title I used two of the Winter Wonderland Chit Chat pieces and created two small embellishment cluster around the title. To finish off the layout I added in some word stickers from the Winter Wonderland 12x12 sticker sheet.

To add a little something extra to my page I went in and added in some splatters using white acrylic paint and silver mist. Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today!

LOTS OF LOVE TAG MINI ALBUM | with Ashley

Hi All! Today I am sharing a little project highlighting the Bits & Pieces ephemera packs. There are similar items in any collection, but I used Lots of Love to make a tag mini album.

I started with the tags from the pack to be the base of the pages of the album.

I used the flowers and tabs from the pack to add layering and details. I popped up the individual pieces with foam tape to create more dimension.

I also used elements from the Odds & Ends ephemera pack and the mini icon stickers for embellishing.

Each tag is one sided which is perfect for adding photos and journaling to the back.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!
