Hello crafty friends! Conny here from The Daily Life of Creativity, and today I’m sharing this fun and colorful mini album created with the Bunny Hop collection from Doodlebug Design. This album is full of bright colors, sweet details, and lots of layers, and it came together pretty quickly. If you’d like to see the full process, be sure to head over to my YouTube channel.
To get started, I used two pieces of chipboard measuring 8 1/4 by 5 1/2 for the covers. I wrapped the chipboard using papers from the Bunny Hop collection, specifically Bubblegum Floral Graph and May Flowers, trimming those down to 7 by 9 3/4 so they would wrap nicely around the chipboard. For the inside of the covers, I used the Petite Print Bubblegum Gingham Linen and trimmed those to 8 1/4 by 5 3/8 to cover the inside cleanly.
For the spine, I used a piece of acetate measuring 8 1/4 by 3 1/2. I adhered it using double-sided tape, adding about 1 inch of adhesive on each side and attaching it directly to the chipboard covers. I love how this creates a clear spine where you can still see all those fun polka dots peeking through. Once the acetate was in place, I added the inside matting paper on top to cover the adhesive and finish off the inside.
On both sides of the album, I created a waterfall-style layout using five pages per side. Each page measures 6 1/2 by 4 1/4, and I scored along the 6 1/2 inch side at 1/2 inch to create the flap. I started placing the pages about 1/4 inch from the top and layered them down to create that cascading effect. For this album, I wanted a lengthwise design, so the top pages open to the left and the bottom pages open to the right, but you can definitely adjust the direction depending on how you want your album to flow.
To decorate, I used 3 by 4 cards on the front of the waterfall sections and added embellishment clusters along the sides and bottom for extra dimension and interest. On the inside, I left the spaces open so they can easily hold 4 by 6 photos, making this album perfect for documenting spring or Easter memories.
I love how playful and happy this album turned out, and the Bunny Hop collection really makes it so easy to layer patterns, colors, and textures together. Don’t forget to check out the full process video for all the details. I hope this inspires you to create something fun and colorful today.
Hippity Hoppity, welcome crafty crew to my project today! It's Spring time and who doesn't love re-visiting such an adorable collection, Bunny Hop! This collection is everything cute and darling! I needed to create a new mini album, and this one is special as it has a hard cover and disc bound. Stay tuned to the end for the full video showcase. So let's hop right into my project!
To create this mini album, you'll need two pieces of 6x4" chipboard and one piece of 6x1" chipboard for the spine. Lay down your chipboard pieces onto a 12 x12" sheet of patterned paper and adhere down with liquid glue. Once bone dry, trim around the chipboard leaving at least one inch around the chipboard so you can fold over the edges and adhere down. To cover the inside, use a contrasting patterned paper. Use a bone folder to help create creases for the cover. Now that you've created the cover, simply cut pages to fit within 6x4" and decorate.
To join the pages together, I punch the holes with my Disc Punch, pushed though my discs on the pages and repeated this step with seven more pages. How sweet do these pages look. I love using the cardstock stickers as ephemera pieces to layer and create little clusters. Word stickers here and there add to the charm.
The best bit about making disc bound albums is that you can add and remove pages as you please. Each page simply slots into place and are so easy to turn over. In my mini album, I've created lots of tuck spots and areas to hide journaling in. Each page was a joy to create and the color palette in Bunny Hop is so fresh!
How stinkin' cute does the Honey Bunny Doodle-pop look on the cover? She is so darling with her little basket of flowers and bow with flowers! I've used my scallop scissors to edge the cardstock pieces for an area on the spine so she "pops" right out.
Thank you again for visiting crafty crew! I hope you found some inspiration today! Please remember to tag Doodlebug Design in your Socials when you create with our products so we can all admire your creativity! We love seeing your creations! Until next time; doodle dee! Enjoy my video showcase!
The Lucky Me Collection is perfect for documenting your spring memories, it's so bright and cheery! I thought it would be fun to create a little tag mini album this time around, take a peek...
I started by making a chipboard cover for my mini. I cut chipboard (2 cover pieces measuring 4 5/8" x 6 1/4", and one piece 1" x 6 1/4 for the spine. I covered the chipboard with some St. Paddy's Plaid paper on the outside and some Limeade Gingham Linen Petite Prints on the inside. To decorate my cover I used the You Are My Sunshine Doodle Cuts.
For my pages, I created some tags using a combination of papers from the collection and the coordinating Lucky Petite Prints, stitched together. I also created one tag using the Rainbow Drops Heavy weight acetate. Each tag measured approximately 3 1/2" wide by 5 5/8" tall. I cut the top corner notches about 5/8" in on each side. For each tag I used a 3/4" circle punch to cut some lily white textured cardstock. I used these as reinforcements for the tag holes.
Once I had my tags put together, I embellished them all with a variety of goodies including, Icon Stickers, This & That Stickers, Puffy Icon Stickers, All the Things, a Doodle Pop and lots of shaped sprinkles! My photo mats were cut using stitched dies from my stash. Here's some more views of the pages.
I secured the pages in my book with a white 1.5" book ring, and I used a piece of ribbon to secure the book closed. It's now ready for me to fill with some fun spring memories!

Hello crafty Friends, It's Conny here from The Daily Life Of Creativity, with the lovely Lucky Me collection. Today I have another fun mini album. This mini
album is 5.5" x 5.5" with scalloped acrylic covers. To start my album I embellished the
front covers. I used the Shadow Box Insert Kit to decorate them. It was easy, I used the shadowbox template as a guide, placing it under the acrylic. I used mostly
Lucky Me icons stickers, Lucky Me sprinkle assortments, bright shapes, and
swapping in the Leprechaun Doodle-Pop to add a little layering among all the other stickers.
I focused my embellishments mostly on the right and middle of the cover, leaving the
left corner open to add an acrylic rainbow charm. I used 1"
gold binder rings to bind the album. Inside, I created a shaker with heavyweight clear acetate. I used 2 pieces stitched into a pocket using my sewing machine. I filled the pocket with the Rainbow Bright sprinkles, the Lots of Luck shaker mix, some pink
sequins, and a few colorful shaker balls. I stitched all the way around and
added eyelets at the top just to make sure everything stays secure.
What I
really love about my first page is how it layers with the cover. When you look
at the album, you see the embellished acrylic first, then the shaker behind it,
and then the patterned paper with clouds and rainbows underneath. I love the movement and depth.
Continuing through
the album, I created photo mats using white cardstock cut to 4.25 by 4.25, and
then layered those onto some of the coordinating Lucky Me Petite Prints. I mostly
used the polka dot sides because I just love how they look. I alternated the
colors depending on the page's patterned paper. I then decorated with all the beautiful icons and phrases from the All the Things Pack.
I added my embellishments using foam adhesive. I placed them on the sides of the pages, making sure to leave space underneath so it is easy to slip a photo underneath. I love doing that because it gives you that layered look, but it still
keeps the page functional. I also trimmed down some of the smaller phrases from
the 6x8 paper pad, like “thinking of you,” “you have a heart of gold,” and a few
others. Those little phrases come in really handy for filling in small areas and
adding just a bit more detail without overwhelming the page.
Throughout the
album, I continued using the shape sprinkles, especially the Rainbow Bright
flowers, adding them into the corners, . I also
used some of the cards and envelopes from the collection. I
resized some of them slightly by trimming them down to turn them into flip pages.
When you flip them up, you have space to add multiple photos or even journaling.
Personally, I like having the
option to hide my journaling; not everything needs to be seen right away,
sometimes it’s just meant for you or for that special person. On one of the
pages, I created a pocket and added a mat using the Lucky Lady shape sprinkles.
They’re dimensional and super cute. Inside the pocket, I tucked in some 3x4
cards, tags, and extra pieces from the collection. One of my favorite details is
the pink envelope from the cards and envelopes assortment. It’s roughly about
4x4 inches, and it fits perfectly on the page. I added holes at the top and
created a simple closure using a 1-inch circle punch, standard eyelets, and some
white string, which makes it interactive but still really easy to use.
This mini album is definitely one of the favorites that I’ve created with this
collection. I already made a chipboard mini album- See
process video here
,
an acetate album, and even some
rosettes, so this is actually my fourth project using Lucky Me - and I’ve honestly
enjoyed every single one. Let me know what you think about this one, and I’ll
see you guys in the next project. Thank you so much for stopping by! Xo, Conny!
Hello crafty friends, it’s Conny here from The Daily Life of Creativity with another mini album using the Lucky Me Collection. If you would like to see the process video, be sure to check out my YouTube channel.
To begin creating the mini album cover, cut your chipboard pieces to the following sizes: 4 x 2½ inches for the front cover, 4 x 2 inches for the spine, and 4 x 5 inches for the back cover. Once the chipboard pieces are cut, wrap each piece with patterned paper from the collection. For the front cover, I used the My Lucky Charm patterned paper and trimmed it to 11½ x 5¾ inches.
Next, cut the Rainbow Drops acetate sheet with polka dots to 3 x 4 inches and place it on the front cover section measuring 2½ inches. Make sure the acetate reaches all the way to the edge, since this will become the front of your mini album. I used double-sided tape to adhere the acetate to the chipboard cover.
To cover the inside of the chipboard cover, trim a piece of cardstock measuring 4 x 9½ inches. The paper I used here is Clover Patch. Adhere this piece to the inside of the album cover for a clean, finished look.
Now moving on to the pages; For the pages, you can use white cardstock or coordinating cardstock from the collection. You will need two pieces measuring 4 x 10½ inches. On the long side, which is the 10½ inch side, score each piece at 5 inches and 5½ inches. In addition, cut one piece measuring 4 x 10 inches, then score it at 4½ inches and 5 inches.
Once these pieces are scored and folded, you will have three signature pages that will be adhered to the middle of the spine. When attaching the pages, make sure to leave about ¼ inch of space from the front and back of the spine so the pages can open comfortably. Adhere the pages one after the other, leaving a small border between them. I recommend leaving about an ⅛ inch gap between each page.
The first page should be the shorter piece, which is the 4 x 10-inch page. Place this page toward the front, and then adhere the two longer pages measuring 4 x 10½ inches behind it. To match the white pages, I used papers from the 6 x 8 paper pad. For the back panels of the pages, cut pieces measuring 3¾ x 4¼ inches, and for the front panels, cut pieces measuring 3¾ x 4¾ inches. These layers add color and pattern while creating a base for photos and embellishments.
To embellish the mini album, I used a variety of elements from the Lucky Me collection, including Mini Icons, Puffy Icons, and the All the Things ephemera pieces. For the cover, I added a rosette that I created for a previous design team project using the Lucky Me collection, and it makes a beautiful focal point on the front of the album.
To make the album more interactive, I also added flip pages using the 3 x 4 cards and tags throughout the album. For dimension and layering, I adhered several embellishments using foam adhesive, which helps create depth and makes the details stand out.
