BERRY SWEET - BERRY SWEET LAYOUT | with Tya

Hi crafty friends! Tya here, and today I’m excited to share a layout that is as sweet as a summer strawberry! I used the absolutely darling Berry Sweet collection from Doodlebug Design, and it was the perfect match for documenting this cute little moment with my cat, Winnie, out exploring the garden. Let’s take a closer look at the details!

In the full shot of the layout, you can see how I used a grid of cheerful 2x2 patterned paper squares from the 6x8 paper pad in bold berry prints, ginghams, florals, and stripes to build a colorful background. I added dimension with lots of embellishments from the "All the Things" die cuts, including the adorable strawberry die cuts, flowers, and some puffy dots, hearts, and flowers from the Puffy Stickers scattered throughout. This gave the page a patchwork quilt vibe, perfect for the sweet garden theme.

One of my favorite embellishments from the collection is this pink polka-dot wheelbarrow overflowing with strawberries and flowers! I tucked it next to the photo of Winnie sniffing the strawberry plant, and perched a little bird on top for extra charm. A puffy red flower and yellow flower  die cut finished off this corner beautifully.

The “berry sweet” title uses a mix of script and playful fonts in rainbow colors, adding a fun pop to the white space on the right. Just below, I included a few lines of journaling. And how sweet is the little mouse friend peeking out over the flower pot? I thought it framed out the title perfectly.

In the top corner, I added a mini cluster with layered hearts, a “Love You” sentiment, which is a sticker from the This and That sticker sheet,  and a soft pop of color from a puffy yellow heart. This small detail helps balance the page while keeping things light and fresh. I did add a few black Nuvo dots here and there on the page around my little clusters - I love the pop of black next to the colorful die cuts.

The highlight, of course, is my curious little kitty, Winnie, captured mid-sniff among the greenery. I love how the warm sunlight and the blossoms of the strawberry plants echo the collection’s theme. She looks totally enchanted, and I couldn’t resist snapping a few shots to preserve this moment.

The top section continues showcasing the patchwork grid with more berry-printed papers and a happy little strawberry face die cut. Notice the strip of colorful diagonal stripe paper strips - they are from the Strawberry Fields 12x12 paper.  I also added a sweet striped sticker tab and another cluster of flowers to tie everything together. It’s the cutest finishing touch!

I hope this layout makes you smile and maybe sparks a little inspiration for your own berry sweet memories. This collection is bursting with charm and color—it’s perfect for summer scenes, garden stories, or anything that calls for a fresh, fruity vibe! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you feel inspired to pick up the Berry Sweet collection and create something adorable. Happy crafting, friends—see you next time!

BUTTERFLY KISSES HELLO PRECIOUS GIRL LAYOUT | with Nathalie

The new Butterfly Kisses collection just landed at my doorstep, and I am so excited to use to document some of my most favorite memories.   This collection is bright, fun, and just gorgeous!  Let me show you what I created with it!

I love how this layout came together, it was so easy to mix and match pieces to bring the design to life with a touch of whimsy.

I had this idea of creating a sort of flap for the page.  So, I started by trimming the Rainbow Skies paper by about an inch, then I trimmed a corner of the Garden Gingham paper;  I scored about 1/4" from the long edge to form the triangular flap. I secured the back of the flap to the back of the paper before adhering it to the teal cardstock.

The small scalloped border under the flap helps to soften the edges.  I love the tags in the back of the Happy Thoughts paper, so I am using one of them to house my picture.  I made sure to punch a hole at the corner of the flap so thar I could tie the tag and flap together in place.

I chose to add two floral clusters to the left and right of the top of the tag.  My idea was to have similar elements so that they balance the page.   I also added a few sprinkles and butterfly stickers as if they were creating the bow on the tag.

To finish my page, I combined pieces of Chit Chat with the new Puffy Words to create my title at the bottom of the page.  I added a few stickers to bring the floral cluster look at at smaller scale to this end of the page.

I hope this inspires you to get creative with the new Butterfly Kisses collection!! XO

BUTTERFLY KISSES LOVE MY PEEPS LAYOUT | with Erica

Hi crafty friends, it’s Erica here and I’m thrilled to be on the Doodlebug blog today sharing my very first layout using the brand new Butterfly Kisses collection. This collection is packed with color, cuteness, and springtime vibes, everything I love in one place.

For this page, I used one of the new cut files from my shop featuring a background of sweet bunny silhouettes. I backed each bunny with patterned papers from the Butterfly Kisses 6x8 paper pad. The smaller prints are just right for backing cut files like this and make each little bunny pop with personality.

Once the file was backed, I added foam adhesive behind the whole thing to bring in some fun dimension. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 11.50 by 11.50 and layered it on top of bubblegum cardstock, then added that onto the Garden Party patterned paper for a soft and colorful base.

I printed four 2x2 photos and matted them with coordinating cardstock cut to 2.25x2.25. I arranged them across the layout, nestled into the bunny rows! I kept the embellishing light so those colorful bunnies could really shine. Just a couple of clusters on either side of the photos using floral odds and ends, a few hearts and butterflies, and a small tab detail at the top of one photo as a finishing touch.

I love how bright and happy this page turned out and I hope it inspires you to get crafty with the Butterfly Kisses collection. Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug blog today. I can’t wait to share more soon!

BUTTERFLY KISSES THE GOOD LIFE LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna here today and I'm so in love with the new Butterfly Kisses collection! I was so inspired while making this new layout and I can't wait to create with it again. Here's my page:

The color palette and all of the adorable icons in this collection deserve all of the heart eyes! I knew right away that I wanted to make a rainbow type layout with the embellishments that would be tone on tone. I used a piece of white cardstock as my base and prepped it with some clear gesso. I then took the Rainbow's End 12x12 patterned paper and tore into it. I planned on adding some mixed media using the striped colors as a guide for each of my colors. I used my Distress Ink pads to watercolor on each color and love how it turned out.

When I received the collection, I took one look at the coordinating Flower Garden Doodle Cuts set and knew that I would find some way to incorporate some of those florals onto a layout. So I took the 12x12 Coordinating Cardstock pack and pulled out the colors that matched that striped paper. I die cut several of the florals using each of the cardstock papers and then to add some interest, I rubbed on some white gelato pen and then drew some highlights using a white gel pen. I adhered them along the torn edge of the striped paper, right where it met the watercolor background.

For my title, I used a few phrases from the Chit Chat pack and adhered them right under my photos. I even included one of the banner pieces from that pack as well. Next, I pulled out the Ladybug Garden Doodle-Pop and adhered it right under my title. I think it was the perfect spot for it!

Next, I continued to embellish tone on tone by pulling some of the butterflies from the Bits & Pieces pack, the 6x12 Icons stickers and the Puffy Icons sheet. I adhered them directly onto the stripes from the Rainbow's End paper. I also added in some of the Hello Again Sprinkles onto those die cut florals and then sprinkled in some tiny hearts from the Puffy Words pack.

Here's one last look at this page. I really love all of the texture and layers on this layout!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way. I'll see you in my next post friends!

BUNNY HOP HELLO SPRING LAYOUT | with Erica

Hi crafty friends! Erica here, and I’m so excited to be back on the Doodlebug Design blog today sharing a bright and happy spring layout using the absolutely adorable Bunny Hop collection! This 12x12 layout is bursting with color, florals, and all the playful charm we love from Doodlebug.

For this layout, I started with a brand new cut file from my shop called Hello Spring. I love the wreath shape and playful lettering, and it was the perfect base for showcasing all the spring colors. I backed all the open spaces of the cut file using a mix of papers from the 6x6 paper pad and some of the 12x12 coordinating Petite Prints papers. I also added foam adhesive behind the cut file to give it dimension and lift off the page.

Next, I created the base of the layout by trimming down a piece of white cardstock to 11½ x 11½ inches. I matted that onto coordinating Doodlebug Design cardstock and then layered the whole thing on top of the May Flowers 12x12 patterned paper from the Bunny Hop collection, this added the perfect pop of floral around the edge.

Once my base was set, I adhered the cut file right in the center of the page. I had two sweet black and white photos that I matted with more pattern paper and tucked right above the word “spring” in the cut file. Then came the fun part, embellishing! I kept it light around the photos, adding a few pieces from the Odds & Ends pack along with some Icons and Mini Icon Stickers. I also tucked in a tab above one of the photos and added a word sticker from the 12x12 Bunny Hop sticker sheet.

To finish the layout, I went in with a ton of Doodlebug Design Sprinkles! I love the color and texture the sprinkles add to the page! This layout is such a happy celebration of spring, bright colors, sweet details, and that classic Doodlebug cuteness! If you’d like to grab the Hello Spring cut file, you can find it linked below.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope this inspires you to get crafty with the Bunny Hop
collection!

OVER THE RAINBOW LUCKY US LAYOUT | with Jen

Spring is in the air! And what better way to celebrate it than with all the colors of the rainbow! Today I have a single page layout for you using the colorful Over the Rainbow collection. This collection sits at #3 on my list of all-time favorite Doodlebug lines! I started out thinking I was going to make a shadowbox using the Odds and Ends and then I remembered the rainbow picture my husband took the first week we were in our house. He had retired from the Air Force and this was our last move back home! While working in the garage a HUGE rainbow appeared and my son and I came out to look and he snapped this picture.

For my base I started out with the Cherry Floral/Graph petite print. I tore a sheet or white Doodlebug cardstock for the next layer, and the finally the cloud pattern paper from the 12x12 collection kit.

For the layout I built a little scene using pieces from the Odds and Ends pack. I layered them using thin foam tape so when this layout goes in my album it won't make the page protector bulge too much.

Finally, I added my journaling on the little notebook piece from the Bits and Pieces kit and left a pocket in the photo matting to slide it in. I added the Lucky Us title pieces from the Chit Chat and we're done!

OVER THE RAINBOW HAPPY MEMORIES LAYOUT | with Erica

Hello friends! Today, I’m excited to share a 12x12 layout featuring the Over the Rainbow collection. This collection is packed with happy colors, adorable icons, and the perfect mix of patterns to bring a layout to life!

I started with a white 12x12 base to keep things fresh and bright. To the left side, I added a bold strip of the colorful stripe side of the Over the Rainbow paper to create a fun backdrop. To add extra detail, I used border stickers from the This and That sticker sheet on both sides of the rainbow paper, framing it beautifully.

Next, I created three photo mats, layering patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad behind each one to add depth and dimension. Once my photos were in place, I reached for the large Chit Chat title pieces, combining them to create my "Happy Memories" title.

The final touches are always my favorite part! I added floral Bits & Pieces, puffy icon stickers, and Sprinkles to bring the layout together. These little details add so much texture and personality!

I absolutely love how this layout turned out, it’s bright, happy, and full of Over the Rainbow charm! I hope this inspires you to create something colorful and fun today.

FAIRY GARDEN HELLO SPRING LAYOUT | with Lisa

I don't know about you all, but I love the new Fairy Garden collection. It's perfect to document your Easter and spring photos but it really can be used for anything at all, as long as you want to create something bright and fun and happy... ;)  Here's my first layout created with this pretty collection,

When I first got the collection, the big die cut flowers immediately jumped to my eyes. I knew I wanted to assemble them, hand-stitch them and use them as big embellishments on my page. So I did! :)  I love the size of them, they are big but not too big and they have the perfect flower shapes and colors.

I needed a cool background for my fun flowers, so I thought it would be fun to create a kind of woven pattern, like a basket, to put my flowers onto. I cut approximately 1/2 and 1/4 inch stripes from a lot of patterned papers and then ripped them in two to have smaller pieces. Then I wove them together and adhered them in two opposite corners.

Then I wanted to make it more distressed and give it more texture and dimension, so first I went over some parts with gesso and watercolors and then I stitched over some of the stripes with straight and zig-zag stitches. I love how that turned out.  It was finally time to adhere my flowers to my page. I attached them using thick foam squares. After that, I used the leaves that were included in the same pack as the flowers, I shaded and distressed the edges and added them to the layout.

I matted my photo with some scraps of patterned paper and then also added it to the layout. For my title, I used a word die cut saying "Hello" and some Abigail alpha stickers to write the word "Spring".  To make the layout cuter, I went through all of the embellishments to choose the ones I wanted to add. I love that part and Doodlebug collections always have so many choices... :)  I added some glitter enamel dots, jewels, enamel shapes (Sprinkles), die cut pieces and a flower clip. To finish I sprinkled some gold ink.

I hope you like the layout and are inspired to create beautiful projects with this super cute collection.  Thank you for stopping by, see you soon.
