Collectible Pin Challenge: Home Decor by Jomelle Gomez

Good Morning Everyone! Jomelle here today and I would like to show you what I made to showcase my growing pin collections. I just recently discovered these pins and now I am addicted. I want to collect them all and display them.

For this challenge, I knew right away that I wanted to make a home decor to show my pins.

I really wanted to use the jar with bugs inside. So I used the 12x12 "little wonders" cardstock from the Springs Things collection and cut the jar. There were so many ideas running through my mind on how to use this jar.

I had to think of a way to have the pins stay in place. What better way than to use a cork. I was able to find this 12x12 cork which is perfect for this project. I then used the 12x12 "sweet shoppe stripe" cardstock from the Cream & Sugar collection and cut the shape of the jar. I really didn't want to cover the bugs but the stripes with all the beautiful colors will go better with all the pins that I have and what I will collect in the future. I glued the cork under the jar and then added a pink cardstock to cover the cork.

Then I made a flower using a pink cardstock. I added another flower in the back using the "spring time spots" 12x12 cardstock from the Spring Things collection. For the flower's bud I used a button. I added a pink twine around the neck of the jar with a mini pink clothes pin.

For the bottom of the stand, I made another flower using turquoise cardstock. To add more design to the flower I used the acetate bee and the word "hello" The pink doily is also placed under the stand and the flower for layering.
