Yankee Doodle Collection: Independence Day in Chile by Caroli Schulz

Hello! Caroli here and today I want to show you these two layouts I made using awesome Yankee Doodle collection.

I must say I'm glad that patriotic color of USA are the same as the colors of my country, Chile. This way, I can use this patriotic collection to scrap my own patriotic memories as well, how cool is that?!

I love that this collection included flowers, in addition to traditional patriotic icons such as stars. Our independence day down here occurs during spring, so the flowers come very handy.

The first layout I made features my little girl when she was just 2 years old, she's wearing a traditional Chilean outfit called "huasita", thus the title. My mom sew her the dress and she was so proud and looked so cute too! Here's the layout:

I machine-stitched the title and left some thread loose just to add a funnier touch, it's messy but in a controlled way, haha!

Love all the silver metallic details on the paper and embellies, it really looks gorgeous in real life, pics dont really catch the effect properly. Love the clear acetate embellies on the Odds&Emds package as well, a bit of transparency will be always a great idea!

My second layout also features my little girl, but this time eating one traditional food called "anticucho", which basically are meat brochettes. She was so excited of eating them for the first time so it was a great memory to scrap. Here is my layout:

I love all patterns in this collection, I used the 6x6 inches pad for filling the letters I used as title, tiny patterns are so cute!

Love all the sprinkles Doodlebug makes and the ones of  this collection are so cute, don't you just love the super tiny dots?

Something I love about sprinkles is that you can use them on teh "i" of a title, and they are matte!

I hope you liked these layouts and get some inspiration to scrap your patriotic memories as well. Have a lovely day!
