I was inspired by this fun planter of I found on Pinterest and decided to create a Doodlebug boot of my own. Here's what I came up with.
The boot is a cutting file from SVG Cuts. I followed the video on piecing it together, but instead of using cardstock, I made mine from chipboard first, then covered it with paper.
The side of the boot was embellished using the Flower Cluster cutting file. The flowers were cut in four layers, each one smaller than the last to give it more dimension. Jewels and sprinkles were used on and around the flowers for some extra bling!
Next, the boot was filled about halfway with some Easter grass. (You could also use foam, tissue paper or whatever you have on hand to hold the pinwheels in place.)
Some greenery was cut from Gingham-Linen Cardstock and Sprinkle Vellum then arranged in the boot.
Mini pinwheels were then added along with a few star die-cuts and mini flags. The "July 4th" sign was cut out from the 6"x6" paper pad and mounted to cardstock. Here's the back view of the boot before I go. As you can see smaller pinwheels were glued to the back sides of the larger ones.
As always, thanks for joining me today and happy crafting! Jennifer :)
This is just so fabulous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you cut additional shapes to make the scallop edges? I have this file, and I don't see scallop or the cute cut you put on the front of the boot.
ReplyDeleteHi, Virginia. I used the serrated knives tool to create the scallops, but you can use any scalloped border you have. The file used in the front of the boot is called organic damask by Sweet Afton, available from the Silhouette store.
DeleteThanks! I just love how this came out!
