Pinterest Inspired Challenge: Zoo Birthday Centerpiece by Jennifer Beason

Hello, Doodlebug friends! Jennifer here and today It's my turn to share my Pinterest inspiration project with you. This fun illustration by Steve Asbell was the starting point for my birthday centerpiece.
I decided the At The Zoo collection would be the perfect fit for this project along with an old wooden truck and some coordinating cut files. Here's what I came up with. As you can see, I kept most of the elements from the inspiration. My centerpiece, however, is a two piece set that can be displayed together or separately.
The wooden truck (purchased from Hobby Lobby years ago) was altered with fun patterned paper prints from the collection.
Coordinating Petite Linen Prints and textured cardstock was also used on the truck adding more pops of color. To protect the paper matte Mod Podge was applied. The larger zoo animals were made using the Panda, Elephant and Giraffe cutting files, which were cut and then mounted to 1/2" thick foam core. The piece is double sided, so I cut everything for them twice, the second set in mirror image.
The smaller animals are Doodle Pop stickers and Odds and Ends die cuts, that were mounted to chipboard. Since these are "party animals" little party hats were added. Matte sprinkles and a mini garland were glued to the front of the truck.  While Chunky Brads were used for the for the lights and on the wheels. Here's a closer look at the layered animals. A toy wheel was used for the spare tire, and a sticker used to create a wheel cover. Thanks for joining me today. More Pinterest inspiration will be on the blog tomorrow, so be sure to visit. :)  Jennifer
