Washi Tape Week: Monogram DIY by Shellye McDaniel

We loved what Shellye did with this monogram and hope to inspire you to create your own. We'd love to see you create it with other color combos from Doodlebug washi tapes. Please share your creation on our Facebook wall and you win (hint, hint)!

You can pick up these heavy-weight chipboard alphabets at Hobby Lobby and Joann's Crafts. Be sure to paint the edges before you start decorating.

Trace a piece of white cardstock and adhere to the back of your alphabet so that your washi tape holds perfectly. You would hate to spend that much time and your washi tape start lifting.

Hope you enjoyed this!!

  1. I love washi tapes I hadn't thought of using them this way. Thanks for the idea. Do you have any beach themed tapes?

  2. Just a little 'testimony':) I live in Texas and yes it gets pretty hot and humid during the Summer (and Spring and Fall...). I've had this wreath hanging on the door leading in from our carport for over a month now. Although it is behind a storm door and not in direct light, it has held together beautifully :) These would make the cutest Christmas or teacher gifts...have fun with it!

  3. Such a cute idea Shellye! Love every bit of it and your color scheme is so perfect for home decor! I think it would also be really cute with some of the new washi tape themes coming for the upcoming seasons and holidays! :)

    1. Me too, Mendi! I have two more "M"'s on my shopping list LOL And I attached the letter to the wreath with wire so it can easily be changed out for the seasons!
