Matchbox Gift Containers | with Karen

My oldest daughter is celebrating her birthday soon and this year her chosen theme is a little more generic than previous years. I'm normally crafting up a storm to match a favourite TV show or movie, however, this year she decided on a watermelon theme. Um, yes, especially as I had the new and adorable Sweet Summer collection on my craft table to inspire her.

We always have a little family and friends BBQ at the beginning of July for her birthday and I love putting together treat containers for each family to take home. While I originally planned on making each box the same, I thought it was a bit more fun and colourful to vary it with different cuties from the Odds and Ends pack. So while the watermelon will be the main focal point and appears somewhere on each box, there are going to be a few fruity characters making their appearance in there too!

This is a fun pop-up drawer design from the Lori Whitlock store that I modified to feature these cute die cuts. Pull open the drawers to reveal your treat....
...and a little pop up surprise. Besides using some adorable Petite Prints paper (this paper worked great because the inside of the box ends up being a different pattern) and patterned paper from the Sweet Summer collection for the base, the main focus are the cute die cuts from the Odds and Ends pack.

I even layered a few of the cuts and to create some more dimension (and cuteness) simply by using some foam adhesive to adhere the flowers on top of the fruit.
It doesn't get cuter than this!
I also added a few Glitter Sprinkles to each box for some fun texture...
...and a mini doilie and a couple of mini clothespins to each box. Oh, such a sweet way to say thank-you for coming out to celebrate with us! I can't wait to see what my daughter decides to stuff inside these cute boxes. I hope they make out family and friends smile!
Thanks for stopping by!
