Dragon Tails Collection: Roaring Good Time with Virginia Nebel

Hello, it's Virginia her on the blog today, can I please get a huge WOOT! WOOT! for this adorable collection Dragon Tails!  I'm a blues/greens kinda gal and this collection is so versatile,  I see lots of projects in my future!

I created an 8.5x11 page using some of the 6x6 papers, I love that the papers are on a smaller scale showcasing the beautiful patterns in this collection.  I accented the photo using a few doodle pops, fun card stock stickers and die cuts!

For my next page I created a clean and simple page and used the pre-sewn mini garlands.  How awesome to get that home-made sewn look with no effort!

There are so many cute birthday-themed elements in this collection, who can resist making a cute birthday card!  I used a treat bag as the base for either a hidden message or gift card holder.  Hope there is a little 'roaring' crafting time in your future!

Dragon Tales Collection: White Background Layout by Mendi

Hello Doodlebugs!  I hope you're enjoying your Monday evening!  I'm popping in today with a playful layout featuring Doodlebug's fun new Dragon Tales collection.  I have had this particular photo waiting for the right inspiration to hit for well over a decade and I was ecstatic to finally document it using these adorable papers and embellishments!

I cut many of the borders from the Dragon Dots Paper, pairing them with several other prints from the collection to form my 7-inch wide column down the left-hand side of my page.  To give my layout some extra oomph I decided to add some zig-zag stitching between the blocks on my sewing machine. When I was done I embellished my title block using my favorite Skinny Alphabet Stickers, along with a ric-rac border sticker from the this & that 12x12 sticker sheet and two of the darling vikings from the icon sticker sheet.  Afterwards I adhered some buttons and matte sprinkles in a random pattern to lend a bit of whimsy.

To balance out my grouping in the top right corner, I also wanted to add a little something to the bottom left so I used some word stickers from the This & That sticker sheet, along with some more buttons and sprinkles.  I am frequently drawn to the clean look of grid designs, but I think it's always fun to have a few things protrude from the edges to keep things from looking too static.

When I was done with my layout, I had a few scraps cut off from my borders that would otherwise end up in the waste paper bin so I thought why not whip together a quick card with them using my scrapbook page as inspiration.  I paired them with a viking from the icon stickers, a word bubble from the This & That stickers and a cupcake sprinkle shape.  I love that I now have a card to grab on the way out the door to a birthday party the next time I need one and it only took me a few extra minutes while my other supplies were already out.

Thanks so much for visiting today.  I hope I've inspired you to make a few cards with your Doodlebug scraps the next time you have finished a layout.  It feels so good to put them to good use and to have a couple adorable cards ready to go in the process.

Dragon Tails Collection: Party Set with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with a fun party set featuring the oh so adorable Dragon Tails Collection.  I'm part Swedish, so the little vikings in this collection are right up my alley, and don't get me started on the adorable dragons.  I put together a cute little party set, take a peek..

I really had a fun time with this collection! I started with the banner featuring lots of pieces from the Odds & Ends and tied together with some Blue Jean Chunky Twine.   I love how many pieces you get in the Odds & Ends package, I used so many and still have most of them left!

Next up is this cute little castle I made as a centerpiece.  I started with this cut file which was actually meant to be a sand castle.  All it took to make it look like a stone castle was some of the Cobblestones Double Sided Cardstock!  I added some vikings from the Mini Icon Stickers, the Hip Hip Hooray Mini Garland, and a cute dragon & present sticker from the Icons Sticker Sheet.  To finish it off, I gave the dragon a balloon from the Balloon Shaped Sprinkles!

Here is the back of the castle, I couldn't resist adding one more little dragon with a balloon!

I made the little party favors to look like the broken dragon eggs.  I added a little Dragon from the Odds & Ends to each "egg" and filled them with some treats!

I created the Broken Egg Half  Silhouette file along with a little piece to help the Dragons stand up, and would love to share it with you!  You can download it from my blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
