BAR-B-CUTE PICNIC BOX CARD | with Kathy

There's something special about a picnic... yummy food, outside in the fresh air, with friends!  That's what inspired this fun box card.  Even better, this picnic has no calories!  Take a peek...

I filled my basket with a bunch of the food icons from the Bar-B-Cute Odds & Ends pack, I just love the smiles, they really make me happy!    I used the red & white check paper from the 6x6 pad for my table cloth, and the sentiment is from the Chit Chat Pieces.  Here's a close-up...

And of course I had to complete the look with an ant from the Picnic Parade Sprinkles.  They are the only ants that don't require a call to the exterminator!

Have you made any projects using the Bar-B-Cute Collection?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We love to see your creations.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

BAR-B-CUTE CLEAN & SIMPLE CARDS | with Kathy

Although most of my projects are 3D, or more involved, I do have a love for clean and simple cards.  Clean and Simple cards are uncluttered, lots of white space with one main focal point.  Doodlebug's Odds & Ends along with the Chit Chat Pieces are the perfect combination to make this type of card.  I used the new Bar-B-Cute Collection to make a few...take a peek...

These cards really went together in a flash.  I die-cut some rectangles from white cardstock and a slightly larger rectangle from the Bar-B-Cute 6x6 Pad and layered onto a card base for each card.  All that was left was to add the Odds & Ends and a coordinating Chit Chat Sentiment.  I popped them up with some foam tape because.. well I needed some dimension lol.  Here are some close ups...

There are so many great combinations of Odds & Ends and Chit Chat pieces .  You could make dozens of cards with them along with some patterned paper.  It would make such a fun gift to package them all together with some envelopes!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

BAR-B-CUTE DOUBLE PAGE LAYOUT | with Tya

Oh goodness - what can I  say about this collection? I LOVE Summer themed collections and Doodlebug knocked it out of the park with the "Bar-B-Cute" collection! From the second I saw it, I could smell food on the grill, the sound of the family laughing, and the sweet taste of lemonade! I wanted to capture a fun memory of a family BBQ we had a few years back so I decided to create this fun double-page spread to commemorate the special day!

The left side of my layout was SO MUCH FUN to put together! I used quite a few die cuts from the Odds and Ends and layered them along the top edge- right above my photos for a fun border of cute icons. I added a few sentiments from the Chit Chat die cuts as well.  I added some of our Sprinkles here and there for some shine and color and then added some tiny black dots with my Nuvo Drops. I tied some black and white Bakers Twine under the photos for some added texture and a pop of black!

Here are some close-ups:

The right hand page is a spot for a couple of photos of my favorite "King of the Grill" and who can resist cute kids with messy faces from eating yummy watermelon. These are precious memories to me! The "Family BBQ" title is made from 2 die cuts in the Chit Chat and then the bottom corner features a few more die cuts from the Odds and Ends and more Sprinkles and Nuvo Drops.
Here are the close-ups of this side:

Aren't these little ants the absolute cutest ants you ever did see?  I also added a few word stickers from the This and That Sticker Sheet on some of the photos.
Here is the layout with the pages side by side. I did use a sketch from the Summer edition of Scrapbook and Cards today to make my layout. Big Thanks to them for the sketch! I  love to use sketches as a jumping-off point to create my layouts. Make sure you check them out!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to create a layout of your next family BBQ using this wonderful collection! Happy Crafting friends!
