Hi everyone, it's Karen and today I am having some fun with my favourite Doodlebug characters - the stars you can find in the Odds and Ends packs.
If you are not familiar with the Odds & Ends packs, you are missing out. While I love just about anything with Doodlebug on the packaging, these packages of die cuts (that happen to coordinate with each collection) are one of my favorite product. And here's why...
...no matter what picture I have for a layout, I can find a set of set of characters that help me tell my story! These cuties from the At the Zoo collection were just the addition I needed for this layout to add a bit of colour and dimension. Adhered with some foam squares, they are a great size to match up with pictures.
...and can I just say that their expressions, variety of sizes, huge number of pieces and even mini themes within collections allow a crafter to mix and match and create project after project with just one package.
And if cute characters are not enough, there are all sorts of additional pieces that you can use on projects. Letters and words make great titles for all sorts of projects...
...and did I mention that they are perfect size for A2 cards? I put this little scene together with more pieces from the same pack, adhering the animals with some foam adhesive to create a bit of dimension. They were a perfect match with some of the papers from the 6X6 paper pack...
...including this cute little incognito greeting embellished with some sprinkles.
I even used some of the fun leaf-themed banner pieces upside down for a little more texture in the top corner of the card. I can't wait to find a reason to gift this card.
Almost every project I create with Doodlebug products includes Odd & Ends. Opening up a package and sifting through all the goodies is as much fun as crafting with them! If you haven't had a chance to work with them yet, I encourage you to pick up a package. If you have, tell me about your very favourite cutie and what collection it came from!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Karen
I love the zigzag design of your layout! Yourcard is super cute too!
