COLOR ME CRAFTY SHAKER STYLE LANYARD TAGS | with Conny

Hello crafty friends! It’s Conny here from The Daily Life of Creativity, and today I’m sharing these adorable Crafty Lanyard Tags created with the gorgeous new Color Me Happy collection from Doodlebug Design. I was so inspired by this collection that I couldn’t resist creating these fun shaker-style lanyard tags! They’re perfect for gifting to your crafty bestie at a scrapbook retreat, crop, convention, or crafty event.  They would also make wonderful Happy Mail surprises, and I can even see them being used as decorative covers for mini albums.

These were so much fun to create that I’m pretty sure I’ll be making more! Here's how I made them...

I began by trimming two pieces of acetate to 4½” x 4”.  I used the Love to Craft Heavyweight Acetate as the back piece and the Clear Heavyweight Acetate as the front piece. I placed the patterned acetate behind the clear acetate and stitched (or fuse tool) three sides together, leaving one side open for the shaker elements.

For my Shaker Mix For the shaker filling, I combined:  Shaker Love This Mix, Shaker Itty Bitty Buttons, lily white shaker balls and  Cupcake shaker balls.  I also added  Coordinating sequins from my stash.

I added a small amount of the shaker mixture into the pocket, then stitched (or fuse) the final side closed. I like to leave a nice border around the entire shaker pocket for a finished look.
Using the We R Makers Oval Punch, I punched an oval opening centered near the top of the tag. This gave it the same look as the badge holders often worn at conventions and events.

Next, I threaded coordinating ribbons through the opening. I used pink and purple ribbons to match the collection. You can also personalize these by adding a friend’s name or by attaching a lanyard to wear at an event.

Now comes the fun part! I selected several sentiment pieces from the Color Me Happy Bits & Pieces collection, including:  So Happy Together, Girl Getaway, Love to Craft To create dimensional clusters, I layered: Mini Icon Stickers, Puffy Icons,  Floral pieces, Odds and Ends,  Foam adhesive for extra dimension For one tag, I even added the adorable Color Palette Charmer (9082), which adds the perfect finishing touch.

I love building small clusters on the right side of each tag and incorporating those circular silhouette pieces behind the main images to create extra depth and personality. These colorful shaker tags are full of movement, texture, and crafty charm.

Whether you’re making one for a scrapbook friend, adding one to Happy Mail, or incorporating one into a mini album cover, they’re sure to bring a smile to someone’s face. I absolutely love how they turned out and can’t wait to gift them to someone special! What do you think? Would you use these as event badges, Happy Mail gifts, or mini album embellishments? Xo, Conny!

BUTTERFLY KISSES SHAKER TAGS | with Conny

Hello crafty friends! It’s Conny here from The Daily Life of Creativity sharing these sweet shaker tags using the Butterfly Kisses collection. These tags came together fairly quickly and are one of my favorite little projects to create because they can be added to mini albums, pockets, scrapbook pages, or even gifted to someone special.

To start, I cut patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad to 2” x 8” and trimmed heavy clear acetate to the same size. Using my sewing machine, I stitched around both long sides and the bottom edge, leaving the top open to create the shaker pocket.

For the shaker mix, I combined shakers from Garden Party and Butterfly Kisses blends, along with mint, cupcake and lily white shaker balls.  I also added bright pink sequins to create a fun, colorful mix. Once filled, I stitched the top closed by sewing forward, backward, and forward again for extra security.

I added teal eyelets from my stash at the top center of each tag underneath the stitching so the tags would stay secure without pulling the stitching apart. Then I finished them with bright yellow ribbon bows for an extra pop of color.

To embellish the tags, I layered pieces from the Odds & Ends, Chit Chat, Bits & Pieces, and Doodle Pops. I especially love the adorable frogs and butterflies because they add so much dimension and personality to the tags. I also stapled word strips like “Choose Happy,” “Love These Memories,” and “Always Smiling” to add little sentiments throughout the project.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope these tags inspire you to create something colorful and fun with your Butterfly Kisses supplies. XO

SNOW MUCH FUN 5x3 TAGS | with Niella

Happy New Year crafty crew! I hope you've had a great start to 2026, I can't believe how fast we've entered in a new year and it's time to get some crafty time in! Yay! If you're after some new inspiration, you've come to the right place as we explore Snow So Fun again.  I adore the colors in this collection, everything is so adorable with the sweetest snowmen, petite penguins and all the wondrous Winter characters you could imagine!  Today, I have some 5x3" tags topped with Doodle-Twine! I have a video showcase at the end for you as well, double yay!

Look how cute all the tags look together.  After each tag is completed, I match it up with Doodle-Twine.  I love finishing my tags this way with an extra long length and twirling it around and then lightly adhering to the tag itself.  Double-sided tape on the back will allow adhesion to a gift, scrapbook page or mini album.

Double-sided foam squares is my fave way to build dimension on each tag, I like each tag to match and with every Doodlebug collection you can guarantee everything goes together so easily! Perhaps you have a fave way to add dimension.

My tags are all created using the patterned papers, This & That sticker sheet and Icon stickers from the Snow So Fun collection! I love using them as a way to build scenes.  The characters on the Icon sheets are the perfect size to use.  How cute are the snowmen and sweet faces! Once I finish creating them, I dot around some Shape Sprinkles and Mini Jewels to finish them off.

Don't you just adore all the hues and shades of Winter cuteness in this collection.  I love the pops of bold blues and purples!  A dash here and a sprinkling there of darling clusters are visually pleasing!

Thank you again for visiting crafty crew! I hope you've found inspiration today! Please remember to tag us in your Socials when you create with Doodlebug so we can all admire your creativity! We love seeing your creations. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Holidays! Until next time; doodle doo!

OH WHAT FUN TAG MINI | with Jen

I love tag albums. I've done them in many sizes from large 6x8 to small using only the Doodlebug tag paper that is typically in a collection. But smaller tag albums are perfect for using up scraps!

Today I have a smaller tag album using my left overs from Oh What Fun. My tags base are 3" wide and 5" tall. I angled to tops and punched holes. I used three colors of Doodlebug Textured Cardstock from the coordinating solids pack but you could use more colors or even make them all the same color.

The front and back covers of my tag album are cut from the new Christmas Magic acetate. The heavy Doodlebug acetate is amazing from tag albums. On the front I used one of my leftover stickers from the This and That sticker sheet. To that I added a couple of the gingerbread men from the Goody Goody Gumdrops shape sprinkles.

Inside I used the number squares from the 12x12 paper pack (Flannel Season paper) on the front of each tag. This would be a super simple way to make a quick December Daily style album. Some of the number squares are add to a white flap so you could journal or add small pictures underneath. I did leave the back of each tag blank to add a picture.

I mixed leftovers from the 12x12 papers and the 6x8 pad. Here I added one of the small journaling cut-aparts from the 6x8 pad.

To decorate the front of each tag I've used a variety of Mini Icons, Icons, Odds and Ends, Chit Chat, and Bits and Pieces. The larger embellishments hang off the sides of the tags and just add an extra pop.

I finished it up with a final acetate tag for the back cover and added another sticker from the This and That sticker sheet.

And since there are so many tags here is a quick video flip through!

OH WHAT FUN MINI TAG ALBUM | with Conny

Hello crafty friends! This is Conny from The Daily Life of Creativity, and today I’m excited to share my third project using the Oh What Fun collection by Doodlebug Design. This time I created a tag-style mini album that does not require chipboard. For my base, I used 4” x 6⅛” acrylic tags, but you can recreate this project with any tag shape or size you prefer. Even a smaller 3” x 4” version would be adorable.

I started by choosing my favorite patterned papers from the collection. The 6x8 paper pad works wonderfully for this type of project, but since mine was already used up from my first two projects, I worked with the 12x12 papers instead.

For the front and back covers, I used the Festive Flannel paper. The red flannel pattern is beautiful and works perfectly for a cover design. I trimmed it to fit the acrylic tags and adhered it to both sides.

Inside the album, I cut nine additional tags at 4” x 6” using a mix of the following patterned papers: Christmas Eve, Berry Christmas, All Spruced Up, Cookies and Candy, and Twinkle Time. Some of these repeat throughout the album, and you can flip them to keep the patterns flowing nicely.

Next, I selected a few colors from the Oh What Fun textured cardstock assortment. I trimmed these pieces slightly smaller, to around 5¾” x 4⅛”, so a decorative, patterned border would show along all edges.

Before adhering the cardstock matting, I added some interactive elements to the pages. I created small flip pages using 3x4 cards and tag shapes from the Snow What Fun, Deck the Halls, and Merry and Bright paper. I trimmed the cards and created flips that open to the left and right throughout the album, alternating direction for variety. I also added a few tag shapes between larger pages for more layering.

On one of the tags, I created a small pocket using a 3x4 card. I added hinges on three sides, adhered it down, and tucked in Bits and Pieces from the collection, including small journaling cards that are great for writing notes or adding extra photos.

To embellish the front cover, I layered three patterned papers measuring 3.5” x 5”, 3” x 4.5”, and 2.5” x 4”. On top of this layered base, I added the Playful Pixies Doodle-Pop, along with the small envelope Santa and two layered hearts in light and dark pink. The title “Merry Christmas” comes from the Oh What Fun Chit-Chat pack.

Inside the album, I embellished using puffy words, mini icons, puffy icons, Chit-Chats, Bits and Pieces, and Odds and Ends. I added small clusters throughout the pages while leaving plenty of space for photos. I also added a pink ribbon bow to one of the tags for extra cuteness and completed the entire album with enamel dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my project. I hope it inspires you to create something fun this season. xo, Conny

OH WHAT FUN MERRY & BRIGHT LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna back again today sharing another layout using the Oh What Fun collection. I'm having so much fun working with this collection and documenting some of our holiday memories. I realized I hadn't scrapbooked some photos of my girl in front of the Christmas tree last year so I immediately got to work! Here's my page:

When I first received this collection, I saw the new Shakers and knew that a shaker element of some kind was in my near future. I couldn't resist and thought it would be fun to create one for this page. I needed something to create my shaker element in, so I went through the 12x12 patterned papers to see if there was something that I could use. I saw the large tags on the Spot of Cheer paper and immediately started trimming three of them out. I figured I could create my shaker in one of them and here's how I did it.

I trimmed out a square in the middle of the blue one to create my "window". I then took the super adorable Christmas Magic Heavyweight Acetate, trimmed a piece out that was large enough to cover the window and adhered it to the backside of my tag. Next, I took some narrow foam strips and applied it around the perimeter of my window. I carefully poured in some of the Christmas Confetti Shakers mix and then closed the back of my shaker using a scrap piece of vellum from my stash. I love how it turned out!!

Next, I went ahead and added some colored eyelets from my stash to each tag and then tied some Doodlebug Twine through each one. I set them aside and worked on the base for my page. I chose a piece of white cardstock from my stash as the base and then adhered both the A and B sides of the All Spruced Up 12x12 paper to the middle. The colorful trees are the perfect pattern for my photo! I then arranged and layered the three tags together and adhered them down. I matted my photo using the 6x8 Paper Pad and got that adhered down as well. I'm really loving all of the patterns and bright, happy colors all together.

For my title, I chose a phrase from the Chit Chat pack and thought it would fit perfectly on the left side tag. I love how the title and my photo sandwich the shaker element. So fun!

I wanted to decorate the shaker element a little more and I thought the Santa's Elves Doodle-Pop stickers were perfect for it! They're so playful and I love the touch of whimsy that they add to my girls page.

Next, I added my journaling onto one of the little notebook die cuts from the Bits & Pieces pack. I centered it right under my tag and adhered it down. I then started to embellish and tried to keep it at a minimum since my page was already pretty busy. I simply added a few Oh What Fun Sprinkles in some spots and then tucked a few trees from the Odds & Ends pack into the outside of the tags.

Here's one last look at this super cute page:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way. I'll see you in my next post friends!

OH WHAT FUN TAG MINI ALBUM | with Tarrah

The holiday season is the perfect time to get creative, and what better way to capture the joy of Christmas than with a colorful tag album? Using the gorgeous Oh What Fun collection I made a cheerful keepsake that’s full of personality and festive charm!

To make the album extra special, I turned the front tag into a shaker pocket. I used the Christmas Magic acetate to create the window and filled the pocket with the Christmas confetti shakers—tiny circles move around freely when you shake it, to keep it all inside I machine stitched around the edge and added a gold metal eyelet to the top. This interactive element adds so much fun and dimension to the album and makes it the perfect eye-catching cover.

I flipped the 'Spots of Cheer' paper to the ‘B’ side and cut out the tag shapes. Cutting out each tag gave me 6 mini canvases to work on individually.

Once the tags were cut, I decorated each one using tone-on-tone embellishments. This means I matched the embellishments to the color of the tag—pink accents on pink tags, green on green, and so on. This technique creates a cohesive look while still letting each tag shine individually.

I layered stickers, die-cuts, and borders from the collection, adding dimension with Doodle-Pops and a few enamel dots for sparkle. The result is a vibrant, coordinated set of tags that feel festive but not cluttered, I added a metal ring through the top to keep the tags altogether, I then added the Christmas tree charm and some ribbons to finish it off.

Tag albums are a fun and versatile way to document memories or create a mini gift. They’re small, easy to assemble, and allow you to play with layers, textures, and embellishments without the pressure of a full scrapbook layout.

This tag album was not only fun to make but it's also a wonderful way to celebrate the season. The Oh What Fun Collection truly lives up to its name with its vibrant colors and whimsical designs! Happy crafting!
