SUMMER FUN DOODLE CUTS SHAKER EMBELLISHMENTS | with Miguel

One of my favorite products is Doodle Cuts, as they allow you to really use your creativity to create your own embellishments for your projects with different shapes and textures.

Look how beautiful they look using Summer Fun cardstock and foam, cutting in multiple layers with the die to give greater dimension to the piece.

To decorate I used mini icons and puffy icons, I love using this product because the shine and color of these make my project stand out a lot and give it that shine on the cardstock.

In these pieces I used the shaker balls in different colors to create the stones for my fish tanks and look how beautiful this project looks.

I personally like to make these pieces so I can collect them in folders and have them handy whenever I need a nice embellishment! Thanks for reading, see you soon.

BUNNY HOP PAPER CLIP EMBELLISHMENTS | with Conny

Hello, my crafty friends! It’s Conny here, and today I’m excited to share some delightful paper clip embellishments with you! These charming 4-inch paper clips are perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to your projects. I chose clips that match the color palette, beautifully complementing the enchanting Bunny Hop collection.
Let's get started! First, I began with the Shakers - Bunnies & Chicks sprinkles. I also added round sequins in cupcake and bumblebee for extra pops of color. Once my shaker mix was ready, I cut a piece of clear acetate measuring 3 1/4 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches long.

Next, I slid the acetate through the paper clip and folded it in half. Using my sewing machine, I added stitching starting at the top near the paper clip and sewed all around, leaving a small opening to add the sprinkle mix. After I filled it with the sprinkle mix, I returned to the sewing machine to sewed it shut.
To complete my project, I added Doodle-pops, flowers from the Puffy Icons stickers, Mini Icon stickers, and Chit Chats to embellish the top of the shaker clip. The Chit Chat was added on top of double-sided foam adhesive.  They turned out really cute! I can't wait to see your shaker paper clips using the Bunny Hop collection. Xo, Conny

FARMHOUSE FALL TAGS | with Niella

And just like that crafty crew it's Fall! Such a beautiful time of year to regroup, reflect and appreciate how far we've come this year! As the days become shorter and the weather starts to cool right down, there is nothing better than to get all snug and settle in for some Autumn crafting. For my first Farmhouse project I've made some adorable tags for all your Thanksgiving treats. Bring on hot soups, baking, pumpkin pie and stuffing! Bonus video at the end! Yay :-)

Each sweet tag is 5x3" and are decorated with such cute characters + has a blank back for your sentiments and a punched hole ready for stringing! You can even tuck one in your album or in a book as a mark spot! Adorbs!

Start by laying down each foundation piece. I've used matching Textured Cardstock from the collection which makes everything come together so easily. Finish off by stitching lines on your sewing machine, embroidery floss or even drawing lines for faux stitching :-)

The Farmhouse 12 x12 papers I've used are (top left to right) Fall Bouquet, Autumn Orchard. And the bottom row (left to right) is Farmhouse and Fall Floral. I could not choose a favorite paper as well! They are all so cute!

How darling are the faces on the scarecrow and woodland creatures! And the cutest buzzy bees and that Turkey! So sweet. The Odds & Ends ephemera always is so fun to go through. You're never short of options!

And the best part of making any project is the decorating! I love using as many pieces as possible for these tags! You are spoilt for choice when it comes to using Doodlebug products. From the Bits + Pieces to the Chit Chat ephemera packs and the Doodle Twine finishes these tags off so nicely!

Thank you crafty friends for visiting today! I hope I gave you a crafty hit of inspiration! Don't forget to tag us in on your socials - we're looking forward to seeing your next Doodlebug Design project! Until next time; doodle doo!

HEY PUMPKIN SHAKER TAGS | with Conny

Hey everyone! It's Conny from TheDailyLifeofCreativity with Hey Pumpkin Collection, and I'm excited to share these gorgeous shaker tags with you. I adore creating shaker tags because they're incredibly enjoyable to make and I love how versatile they are – they can effortlessly enhance various projects. I will be adding these tags to my October/Halloween cards or mini albums.
Let's begin! I started by selecting some 12"X12" cardstock. If you prefer to use the 6"X6" paper pad, that would work great too. The smaller images on the paper can be fun to play with when creating shakers using acetate.
I chose the Homespun heavy acetate, as well as the "Boo-tiful Bouquet" paper. I used the floral side with the spiders and the side with the black polka dots. I also used the "Moonlight Magic" paper and "Plaid It's Halloween." For the shakers, I picked the "Peek-a-Boo" paper because I felt like they would stand out more with the acetate, letting the "Halloween Night" and "Sweet Treat" shakers pop.
I usually prefer my tags to be 3"X5". There are many dies available with stitching, and SVGs, or you can even make them yourself. Cutting them is simple. To bind the tags together and turn them into shakers, I used my sewing machine with white thread. I stitched all around, leaving a spot open at the top to add the shakers. After that, I closed the opening using my sewing machine.

I spruced them up with some chit-chat, odds & ends, bits & pieces, and mini icons. I then used a staple to attach the chit-chat pieces to the bottom of the tags and layered the embellishments on top. To finish them off, I added a black tulle bow.
I'd love to see your take on these tags, so be sure to tag us. Wishing you a delightfully spooky time, my little pumpkins!

AT THE ZOO PAPER TOPPERS | with Niella

Hi crafty crew, so happy to see you visiting today! With the sun shining and the days outside plentiful with family and friends, have you been to visit the zoo lately! Or have an upcoming zoo themed event or even better, like planning ahead with handmade goodies, me too! Today I have a set of funtastic paper toppers for your gift giving, gift card holders, table nameplates or even bookmarks that are ready to mark your latest page! Multiple uses! And, I have a bonus video at the end of this post!

Warning: super cuteness coming up! You'll fall in love with all the cheeky and adorable animal faces ! You can almost feel them snuggle right up to you. It'll be hard to pick a fave!

I started with the patterned papers! And cut these to 5x5" and then folded them over by 4 3/4" which leaves a slight lip under so you can see the contrasting pattern underneath. Here I chose Safari Plaid, Later Alligator, Jolly Giraffes, Elephant Parade, Lions & Tigers and Roly Poly Pandas! How roaringly sweet!

Next, I added matching cardstock from my stash as a front panel to add the Icon stickers to. Adding a background of solid color helps these elements pop! Then I dotted around the mat Sprinkles and also some glitter Sprinkles too! How snappy!

Once all decorated, I added a top stitched line using my sewing machine. This helps the folded card to stay secure for use as a bookmark over your page but can still be used as a gift card or table nameplate! There really are so many uses for these. Your ideas can be taken to new heights!

Thank you crafty crew for cruising by today! I hope I gave you a crafty hit of inspiration! Don't forget to tag us in on your socials - we're looking forward to seeing your next Doodlebug Design project! Until next time; doodle zoo!

BONUS: video flip through as promised!

HOMETOWN USA PATRIOTIC ROSETTES | with Niella

Hope y'all had a great July 4th crafty crew and had a great time with family, friends and festive foods! A favorite time of year for sure! Remember to bookmark today's project for next year or you can also amend the theme for any fun occasion - Doodlebug decor rosettes! Let's check these out :-) And, you guessed it! There's a fun video showcasing these at the end of this post!

This is where 12x12" paper comes in super handy as I usually create embellishments with the 6x6" paper pad because of the smaller scale, but with 12" patterned papers you get the length for rosettes! I've used several of the collections papers! You can use any you choose. They're all as sweet as each other. Simply start with a 1.5" x 11" strip and score the whole piece at quarter of an inch intervals along the strip. Then fold back and forth. Next glue one and adhere to the other end. Press down, hot glue against a piece of cardstock and hey presto! A rosette, ready to decorate!

Each of these rosettes are made from a length of 12" paper and for the width, you can choose! Remember, the smaller the width, the smaller your rosette. These are made with widths from half an inch right up to two inches. Layering them gives them more depth and more room to decorate! My favorite thing for sure!

Each of these rosettes have been decorated with the icon stickers, sprinkles, paper and foam dots! Each of them hold their own appeal. How cute to make these and turn them into buttons to wear or put onto gifts or cards! Endless possibilities to be had friends ;-) What will you choose? BONUS Watch: Doodlebug - Decor Rosettes

HOMETOWN USA DECOR FLAGS | with Niella

Happy June, crafty crew! With Independence Day coming up so fast, it's a good time to prep ahead if you aren't already. So happy to have you visit today to see my super fun project: Decor Flags with Hometown USA! Whether you create these for your crafty projects, food platters, baking or as a topper for your gift hamper; these are fun and easy to create! You can even adapt these ideas for other Doodlebug Design collections as well :-)

For each flag, I've cut a 9" x 2.5" inch strip of white textured cardstock and on top of each, a strip of patterned paper .5" inch less all around,  and machined stitched over the cardstock. This technique gives strength to each flag and helps the eye look towards the patterned papers I feel :-)

I wrapped one edge over a wooden dowel and adhered it with liquid glue or hot glue for faster drying time. These dowels came from my stash with beads on the top. Awesome!

The papers in the Hometown USA collection I've used in my introduction photo are: Top, Polka-dot Pride, All American and bottom, Plaid to be American. Such cute and fitting names, right! So super darling!

Decorating each was so fun! I like to start by laying down the base pieces, then build on them by adding foam squares behind the Odds & Ends ephemera pieces. I also love to add elements on the back side of projects as well. This gives more dimension. That fantastic bunting piece is from the Chit Chat ephemera pack! It suits perfectly!

Don't be afraid to use the icon and mini icons too. I simply added foam on the back of each and glued down, I especially like using the icon stickers because they are smaller and you can fit more on! Plus they always look extra cute!

Those firework flourishes are so well suited to these embellishments! They give that extra detail that this project needed. How sweet do they look behind Lady of Liberty!

BONUS: If you've made it to the end of this blog post, you can watch me showcase these!

Thank you crafty crew for flying by today! I hope I gave you a crafty hit of inspiration! Don't forget to tag us in on your socials - we're looking forward to seeing your next Doodlebug Design project! Until next time; doodle dee!

DOODLEBUG SHAKERS - SHAKER EMBELLISHMENTS | with Jen

I'm sure by now you have all figured out how much I love to make shakers! Whether I'm using them on a card, layout, or mini album I just love the interactive element they add. Today I have three shakers I made using the Doodlebug SVG files available in Lori Whitlock's shop. I used files from three different collections. I have a full recorded tutorial on how to manipulate the files in Cricut Design Space linked below.

First up is a fairly simple shaker using the Rainbow with Clouds from the Fairy Garden Collection. For this shaker I just used the cloud pieces for the shaker and filled them with Lily White Shaker Balls. This is a very basic shaker and not hard to make.

For my second shaker I stepped it up a bit and used the Winter Mountains from the Snow Much Fun Collection. For this shaker I used the main mountains to make to separate shakers and then layered them together to complete the overall shaker. I used the Ice Crystals and Flurry Shakers to fill. This is a very dimensional piece and would be great in a mini album.

And my last shaker I used the Cola image from Hello Again. For this shaker I made mini shakers out of some of the ice cubes inside the larger cola shaker. This one was a little bit trickier with the ice cube shakers inside, and the gap at the top of the cup between the lid and the "cola". The finished product is really fun and would be great as a card or on a layout.

Full video tutorial can be found here.  Thanks for stopping by!
