FARMHOUSE MASON JAR MINI ALBUM | with Karen

I love this time of the year - the weather is cooling down, all the hard work in garden has finished up, and I am getting ready to settle in for the Canadian winter! It is also a time for canning and all the good, spicy treats that seem to come with this time of the year.

  Front-1

So for this project, I decided to venture away from my usual cards, stamping and treat containers and create a little mini album. I came across this hidden binding mason jar album on the Lori Whitlock website and I thought it was a perfect fit with the new Farmhouse collection. It also seemed to give me so much space to layer, layer, layer - a favourite pastime of mine on all my projects!

  Page-1

So after I had the album cut out using Doodlebug's textured cardstock I started layering all of the patterned paper. I chose to stick with three different patterns just to pull the pages together, sometimes using the B side of the paper for variety.

And then, using some of the Chit Chat, Bits and Pieces and Odds and Ends die cuts, I created small little layered "scenes" every second page or so. This left me lots of space for some pictures that I can add later.

On this beautiful floral pattern, I decided to keep it really simple because there was already so much going on with the pattern.

And on a few of the pages, I added some of the Shape Sprinkles to add a little texture and shine to the designs.

LIttle-Charmer

Finally, after tying some twine around the top of the jar, I added a Little Charmer for a little extra "something". This little leaf is about as cute as it can get, and as a Canadian, you can never go wrong adding a maple leaf!

Top-1

I have so many cute fall pictures that I could add to this album that I am not even sure where to start in choosing them! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

HOMETOWN USA CIRCULAR POP UP MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

Happy 4th of July Week!  We are busy around here getting ready to celebrate the holiday... by the water of course!  I had a chance to get one more Hometown USA project in... a fun Circular mini with lots of fun spaces for my upcoming photos!  Take a peek...

The album starts out folded into a neat square, which I tied closed with some Red, White & Blue Doodle Twine.  Once you untie, it opens up to form a fun, circular star shape, which I clipped open with a mini clothespin!

To create this album, I started with a this cut file from Lori Whitlock.  I used some Lily White cardstock for the base, and patterned papers from the Hometown USA 6x6 pad to cover my panels.  I love the smaller prints!    Once it was all covered, I got to work decorating my pages!

On most of the pages I added a square photo mat made from the coordinating textured cardstock pack.  I decorated the pages with some Icon Stickers, Mini Icons, Puffy Icons,  This & That Stickers, Chit Chat pieces and shaped sprinkles. Here are some close-ups...

I can't wait to pick out my favorite photos from the week, and add them to the book!  This book looks so cute on display as well and would make a great gift.  That's it for me today, I wish everyone who is celebrating a very happy Independence Day!  Thanks for stopping by to peek.

SWEET & SPOOKY HAUNTED MANSION MINI | With Lisa

Okay... it's almost October and now we can start talking... crafting Halloween :) I am a huuuuge fan of the super cute Home Sweet Home mini album we got in our last DT package and of course I decided to create a haunted Mansion album with it using the new Sweet & Spooky collection.

To start, I used almost all of the patterns papers to cover every page of the album. To do that, I traced the house on each paper, using one of the pages as a stencil and then I cut out all of the shapes. I covered each page front and back. I then created the curtains to go into the windows by using the stencils included in the album.

To embellish my cover, I used die-cuts from the Odds & Ends pack. I trimmed the white borders a bit to make them narrower. I used the "An eye for an eye" black sprinkles to add to the eyes of the small characters. I also used some jewels to make it "bling". ;)

To add some extra sparkle and craziness, I added a lot of trim, tulle and ribbon to the binder rings. I also wanted to create a small dangly-charm-tassel-thingy and I used the super adorable Little Charmers from the collection and some other materials from my stash. Love this new product... the charms are just adorable...

I think the album looks so cute from the outside but it also has a ton of cuteness inside.   On the inside I decorated each page a bit (or a lot) and I left enough space throughout the album to add photos and little notes.

Take a look at the inside pages.

A page to write down what you did for Halloween or during the month of October.

A cute little Halloween scene...

A few tags I cut out from the Hello Sugar paper. I added fringes on some of them too...

Loooove the acetate sheet in this collection. It gives the ghost some added decoration and interest and when you lift it up...

... it reveals the little mummy ghost... :)

Some lists I cut out from the Candy Sticks paper and folded to fit the album. You can pull on the little tab...

... open the paper strip and write down your faves!

The back of the album is very cute too... I added a few stickers and was done! I wish you all a fun October month and remember to take a ton of photos for your layouts and mini albums... :)

FAIRY GARDEN MUSHROOM MINI ALBUM | with Traci

I want pink hair and I want to live in a mushroom house!  How fun would that be?!!  Well, since that's not going to happen anytime soon, LOL, I'll settle for a mushroom house mini album (and maybe pink hair someday)!

I created this cute shaped mini using a Doodlebug cut file from the Fairy Garden collection.  I offset the base shape to create 5 white page backgrounds, and then had lots of fun layering on pattern papers from the 12x12 sheets.

For the cover, I used lots of sprinkles for the door knob, flower centers, and bugs.  And how cute is that tiny wreath?!  Those are tiny stickers from the icon sheet, layered with flower sprinkles from Birds and Bugs.

My photo mats are all 3 1/2" scallop circle punches layered with 3" circles, and I used a combination of odds & ends, icon stickers, and chit chat pieces.

I love how foam tape gives dimension to the pages, making the cute little bugs appear to be flying.  Wouldn't spring photos be super cute in this little book?  Playing outside, gardening, a visit to the park ... I'm sure we could all use a little more sunshine these days!

This is what my mushroom house would look like ... bubblegum pink with pretty flowers next to my tiny door :) CUTE!

The Fairy Garden collection has quickly become one of my all-time favorite Doodlebug lines.  How can you not smile at these colors, and those adorable fairies?? So let's see, what do I need to go along with my mushroom house .... maybe a cute garden with an adorable fence! Stay tuned!! ;)
