Washi Tape Challenge: Creative Frame with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with my Doodlebug Washi Tape project.  My daughter is in college and her whole dorm room has been carefully coordinated in her favorite colors.  I decided I'd make her a fun frame to add to her decorations.  Take a peek...

I started with a chipboard frame I've had in my stash for years.  I painted it white since the color of the frame somewhat shows through the tapes.  I then proceeded to cover the frame with various Doodlebug Washi Tapes in Swimming Pool, Lily White, Bumblebee and Grey.  For the window, I initially covered the space, then turned the frame over and cut out the window using a craft knife.

I finished the frame with a couple of cute stickers from the Spring Things Icon Sticker Sheet which I popped up with some foam tape.  I added a cute black & white photo of my daughter and her friends and it was done!  It looks so cute in her dorm!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Collectible Pin Challenge: Frames with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with my Collectible Pin display project!  I will admit, I have ALL THE DOODLEBUG PINS!!!!  They are just so cute I couldn't resist!  The problem for me was that they were sitting on my craft table just waiting for me to do something with them, so this project was perfect for me!  I'm, not really a collector, (other than craft supplies lol) so I headed over to Pinterest to look for pin display ideas.  I came upon this foam core board frame display idea here, and decided to give it a try!  Take a peek...

These were actually pretty easy to assemble.  I started by cutting frame shapes out using my Silhouette.  Next I traced each frame shape twice onto foam core board, and cut them out using an exacto knife.

Next, for each frame, I cut a piece of plastic canvas mesh (the kind you use for embroidery) to be just larger than the opening of the frame.

To assemble the frame, I glued the plastic mesh between the two foam core frames.  Using my Silhouette I cut the frame shapes from some Gingham Linen Petite Prints papers to cover the front of each frame.  I added some flowers from the Spring Things Odds & Ends and some older Doodlebug Ribbon I had in my stash to hang each frame.  Here are some close-ups of each frame...

And here they are hanging on the wall of my craft room!

That's it for me today!  I'll be back next week with a tour of my craft room!  Thanks for stopping by to peek!

Fantastic Frames with Flower Box Collection

Welcome Spring Frame
by Shellye McDaniel

For the wooden frame, I used a brown chalk-style ink pad to distress the wood. I found it best to use a sheet of vellum to create a template for the inset of the frame; trace onto desired patterned paper and cut out. For added dimension and interest, I trimmed out the inner edge with a strip of patterned paper followed by a border of Bumblebee Doodle Twine (I use a Fine-Tip Glue Pen for this). I added a row of washi tape and strip of paper to the bottom to mimic a ground full of Spring flowers. For the focal point, I layered two different sizes of doily die-cuts and then embellished with several of the Doodle Pops and cardstock stickers from the Flower Box Collection! A ribbon hanger to the top and it's ready for hanging.
