SNOW MUCH FUN WINTER MINI ALBUM | with Conny

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Conny here from The Daily Life of Creativity, and today I’m sharing this 8 1/4” x 5 1/2” mini album created using the Snow Much Fun collection. This album has lots of pages, and the middle booklet uses acetate for a book. It was so much fun to put together using this beautiful wintery collection. Check out the process Video.

Let’s get started! I started with chipboard: (2) covers measuring 8 1/4” x 5 1/2” and (1) spine measuring 1 3/4” x 6 1/2”. Cut (1) 10” x 7 1/8” from each of the following papers: Snow Much Fun and Ice Crystal. I turned the paper so the branding strip is vertical, up and down, then adhered the chipboard covers to the 10” x 7 1/8” pieces. I used Snow Much Fun with the images facing out and Ice Crystal with the snowflake side facing out.

I placed the chipboard centered, leaving about 3/4” on all sides, using a cover guide tool and adhesive . I then mitered all four corners with diagonal cuts. If you don’t have a cover guide tool, trim about 1/8” away from each chipboard corner to ensure clean wrapping. I then wrapped all four sides of each cover using adhesive of your choice.

Next I cut (1) Teal coordinating cardstock or Robin’s Egg measuring 3 3/8” x 8 3/8”. I adhered the 1 3/4” x 6 1/2” spine in the center, again leaving about 3/4” on all sides. Next I cut (1) 4 7/8” x 6 1/2” from Ice Crystals and adhere the wrapped spine in the center, leaving roughly 1 1/2” flaps on both sides. When adhering the spine to the covers, try to keep it centered. It is roughly about 7/8” from the top and bottom. Assemble in this order: cover, spine, then cover.

For the inside covers, I cut (2) pieces measuring 8 1/8” x 5 3/8” from Snow Happy Together and adhered them to the inside covers to cover the chipboard fully. I then cut (2) white 110 lb cardstock at 8” x 10 1/2” for the pages. They were scored on the longest side at 5” and 5 5/12”. The pages will have a 1/2” spine. These pages were adhered to the spine 1/8” in, leaving about 1/4” in the middle for the booklet that will be added next, and 1/8” in the front and back pages.

For the booklet, I cut (1) Let It Snow heavyweight acetate measuring 8” x 10” and score on the 10” side at 5”. I Cut (1) purple coordinating cardstock at 8” x 9 3/4” and scored on the longest side in the middle at 4 7/8”. I Cut (1) 8” x 8 3/4” from Wintery Woods and score in the middle of the 8 3/4” side at 4 3/8”.

Using a hole punch, I punched two holes along the score line at the top and bottom, about 1” in, and bind using twine. I used the Crop-A-Dile (We R Makers) with the smaller holes. The hole punch was also used on the spine between the single pages of white cardstock, which has 1/4” punch holes in the middle

For mats and layers, I cut (2) pieces measuring 4 3/4” x 7 3/4” from each of the following papers: Snow Day, Ice Crystals, All Bundled Up, and Frosted Friends.

To decorate the cover page, I used one of the cards, then created a cluster inside the little circle with the Penguins pals, Colorful snowflakes, and Chit Chats.

To finish the album, I embellished with odds and ends, stickers, and mini icons. Two pages include flip-up pages. For those, cut two pieces of white cardstock measuring 4” x 5 1/2” and score on the long side at 1/2”. One flip page was adhered to the front page, and the second one was adhered to the second page.
