SNOW MUCH FUN WINTER BIRTHDAY CARDS | with Karen

Hey Doodlebug fans! It's wintertime and in my household that means two things - birthdays and birthday cards! So I love sitting down at my crafty table and taking some time to make some winter-themed cards. I am not sure if that is because I am Canadian and we spend so much time in the snow and ice, but it has always seemed perfect to match this season's birthdays with the weather outside. And anyway, with cute collections like Snow Much Fun, who wouldn't want a winter-themed card?

For this little set, I started with the coordinating Cards & Envelopes. They are the perfect base to work on and then I don't have to scour my drawers for envelopes that work! In this case I actually even decorated the envelopes up a bit with some die cuts from the Odds & Ends pack just to add a little something extra to the envelope. I am actually not sure why I haven't done that more often as I love the embellishment!

As for the scene on each card, I started with a bit of matted paper from the 6x6 paper pad and then just used more die cuts from the Odds & Ends pack together with some sentiments from the Chit Chat pack. Some foam adhesive on some of the die cuts allows me to create a little more dimension and interest on each scene - and it allows me to get more cute shapes on there too which is always a bonus!

These cuties - especially that snowman making a snowman - just make me smile. The theme isn't overtly birthday/thank-you, but that is kind of what I love about them.

Whether you are sharing in the ice and snow right now or basking in the sunshine and warmth, I hope these cute little cards inspire you to get crafty. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
