I❤️TRAVEL LAYOUT | with Erica

Do you like to use a pattern paper background or do you love a white background for your layouts? Well I am usually a white card stock background kinda girl but today I am going to share how I used a pattern paper! Now this was a struggle for me to commit to but I did it and I really do like how it came out! But I am not sure I can do this often because I just love my white card stock so much! I am having so much fun with the Doodlebug I Heart Travel collection! I absolutely love the colors and all the embellishments! I love that it is great for so many types of travel and destinations!
I think my favorite embellishment from this collection is the picture perfect sprinkles! I love that there is a variety of cameras to pick from! They are the perfect little embellishment to add to all your projects! For this layout I used the Picture This 12x12 paper. I love this paper so much because of the cameras and the color! I added some white gesso to the paper and smudged it around just a little bit in the middle. This was to help tone down the color of the paper in the center. I also added some white acylic paint sprinkles to the page. I wanted something just a little extra in the background and I love how it looks. My cut file was cut out of white card stock and backed with papers from the I heart travel 6x6 paper pad!
I love working with the 6x6 paper pads when using cut files. I love the smaller scale images on the paper! Perfect for cards too! I popped up the entire cut file up on some foam adhesive and adhered to my background once it was dry. I pulled out embellishments from the odds & ends, chit chat, travel tags and mini icon stickers! I am really loving the addition of the tags to the collection. So many great pieces to work with! I layered a couple behind my photos! Here is a look at my completed layout! If you are a white background kinda girl like me I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and try a fun Doodlebug pattern paper! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Have a great day!
