Christmas Town - December Birthday Layout | with Virginia

Raise your hand if you have a December birthday? As a Christmas Eve baby myself I am shouting out (with both jazz hands) 'Happy Birthday' to all those turning one year wiser this month!

I am in the midst of holiday paper crafting and it's no wonder my desk is piled high with Christmas themed supplies.  That being said I had the intention to make a festive December birthday layout without it being too Christmas-y.

I scrolled through the super cute Doodlebug Christmas Town digital cut files collection and this standing bear stood out (literally!).  What is better than a cute bear? how about a supersized 8-inch bear on your page!  This standing bear is perfect to hold a banner or sentiment to emphasize the celebration theme.  Imagine doing this for any happy occasion eg. Valentines day (with a heart string banner), baby birth announcement, retirement etc.

The circle die-cut background is from the Smitten Kitten collection and the patterned papers under the die-cut circles are from the Christmas Town 6x6 paper pad.  The smaller scaled patterns are a great way to add pops of colour to the background.  I added sequins and the #5 on to the circles to record this special boy's 5th birthday!

Thanks for dropping by the blog, hope you have a bear-y special day!
