Tuesday Tutorial: Tri-Fold Glitter Card

“Boo To You” Tri-Fold Glitter Card
by Tiffany Hood

In honor of my favorite thing in crafting- BLING- I decided to make a super sparkly Halloween card.  This tutorial will show you two techniques: how to make the card base, and how to make the glittered spiderweb.

First, you’ll start with a 5 ¼”x11” piece of cardstock

Mark 2” up from the left bottom corner

Then you’ll use your paper trimmer to cut from the top right corner to the 2” mark you made.

Place your cardstock upside down as shown into a score board. Score the cardstock at 4” and 7 ¾”

Accordion fold as shown

Then, you can cut additional pieces if desired to change the patterns of some of the panels.  Here, I cut a black piece that I will embellish.

Emboss the cardstock piece with a spiderweb embossing folder

Your paper will now look like this

Now you’ll need Doodlebug’s new Metallic Glitter, a Tidy Tray, and either a glue pad or a glue pen

You can either press the glue pad over the embossed image (if the ink pad is new and juicy)

Or you can draw over the embossed areas with a glue pen.  This technique takes a bit longer but works better.  (If you use a glue pen, work in small sections adding glue and then adding glitter so the areas don’t dry before the glitter is applied)

Hold cardstock over a Tidy Tray and pour glitter over wet glue.  Tap off excess into Tidy Tray and then put excess glitter back into jar.

Now you’ve got a cute glittered spiderweb!

Embellish as desired with  twine, stickers, ribbon, and die cuts.
