Doodlebug Design Team - Day 5 (last day)

We're back for a new week and the last of our Design Team spotlights and tomorrow we're going to play a trivia game for lots of fun Doodlebug prizes. We hope you've been reading up on all our design team members the past week...you're knowledge of them may help you win!!

Tiffany Hood   http://www.rhinestonesandribbon.blogspot.com

My favorite thing about Doodlebug is definitely the color palate.  That’s what made me fall in love with the company.  The colors are bright and saturated and beautiful.  I also love the fun, happy, youthful themes.  It cheers me up.  You can’t look at Doodlebug products and not smile.  My favorite products are anything sugar coated.  I LOVE GLITTER!  My favorite line is Monster Mania.  I fell in love with those cute monsters!  (Halloween’s also my favorite holiday, so that could have something to do with it.)  My second favorite is Nifty Notions.  I’m also a huge fan of the beautiful flocked chenille cardstock.

I live in Utah where I’ve lived all my life.  I married my High School sweetheart who I met when I was 14, and we now have 3 beautiful children.  I’m also a pediatric registered nurse and love working with kids.

Fun Facts about Tiffany:
  • What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod? Probably right now it’s “Dynamite” by Taio Cruz.  It’s a song that sticks in your head, and my kids love it.  You should hear my 5 year old sing it!  So cute!
  • If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose? Probably Ariel, The Little Mermaid, which doesn’t make sense because I’m extremely afraid of sharks, but I wanted to be her when I was little, and I’ve always wished I could sing, and I love her beautiful hair and big beautiful eyes!  And what little girl doesn’t want to be a mermaid or a princess?
  • What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
  • The last book I read was “The Help” and I definitely cried a few times.  It’s such a beautiful story, I can’t wait to see the movie.
  • What is one of your favorite quotes? “Sometimes you just have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down.”  -Kobi Yamada

Wendy Sue Anderson  http://wendysueanderson.blogspot.com

My favorite thing about Doodlebug products is that they are always CUTE!  The designs are fun and cute and so unique.  I love that everything is coordinated – even individual lines coordinate with other lines – genius!  The colors just make me happy!

I live in a little valley in Utah.  My amazing husband, Brad, and I have been married for almost 18 years!  We have four incredible kids:  Meagan, Josh, Seth, and Zach.  I feel so blessed to have such a great family – and I love that I have this hobby to help me record all of the memories we are making together.

Fun Facts About Wendy:
  • What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod? 1,2,3,4 by Plain White Tees…followed closely by a mix of Holiday music – I love listening to Christmas music all year round!
  • What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?  I never got into trouble.  Never. ;)
  • What chore do you absolutely hate doing?  I hate cleaning bathrooms – especially toilets (you did read that I have 3 little boys, right?).  I do, however, LOVE having a clean bathroom…so I clean them anyway.
  • What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up? Um, I am one of those sappy “cry at anything” girls.  I cry watching Disney movies, chick flicks, and even during the occasional action movie.  I cry at commercials, songs on the radio, or simply by seeing something that touches my heart.
  • If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?  I would love to get my kid’s school albums all put together and organized – right now everything from their school years – photos, projects, report cards, etc. – is in a big box just waiting for me to dig in.
  • What is one of your favorite quotes? “In all of living have much fun and laughter; life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.” Gordon B. Hinckley

Doodlebug Design Team - Day 4

Stephanie Buice http://mybitsofsunshine.blogspot.com
What I love most about Doodlebug products would have to be all the color, it just makes me happy!

My husband and I live in Alabama and we have a little one on the way. We also have two “fur babies” A black lab named Chevy, and a cat named Honey. It’s a small family but it’s mine and I love it with all my heart.

Fun Facts about Stephanie:

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?  Right now it is probably “we owned the night” by Lady Antebellum
What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?  Haha, what didn’t I do that got me into trouble? I liked to cut my sister’s hair…oops ;)
What chore do you absolutely hate doing? The dishes after dinner
What is one of your favorite quotes?  “Life isn’t about waiting for the storms to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”

Rosangela Phillppsen   http://www.scrapbyrophilippsen.blogspot.com

I love the Doodlebug paper collections, they are always so beautiful and colorful, like a spring morning! I also love twines, the stickers are amazing, OMG and what I can say about the cardstock stickers? Just amazing. I really love Doodlebug Products.

"My name is Rosangela Philippsen, but all people call me only by "Ro". I live in a beautiful city called Curitiba, in the South of Brazil, with my beloved hubby and my 14 old year son, Rafael. I´m graduated in Philosophy, and for many years I was Account Manager to a great insurance company, but 5 years ago I decided to leave behind a boring and stressful profession, in search for something that could make me happier. Today I live among papers, scissors and inks! I scrapbook every day, I give lessons; I travel with my courses in my country and go to fairs too. I am passionate about creating and inspiring different people and I love trying new and interesting materials in my designs.
I also love to travel and experience new cultures. I like reading and cinema is also a passion. Sunny days make me happier, and when spring comes my soul vibrates! It's me!

Fun Facts about Ro:

  • What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Ohhh, I hate washing dishes, I hate too much!
  • If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? I'd choose for my mentor Robert Happé. He says: "We are all divine with access to creative consciousness, but we need to learn how to do so. For this reason we are in incarnation, it is the way as to how spiritual development takes place and how we eventually can indeed contribute to the expansion of creation and evolution." I love what he says about life and spirituality.
  • What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up? I cried a lot when I watched "P. S. I Love You"
  • What is one of your favorite quotes? “If you can dream it, you can do it." Walt Disney
  • What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? The best gift I ever received in my life, was the best gift I received from life: my son Rafael. He is and always will be my best gift!

Sherry Cartwright   http://itsawondramouslife.blogspot.com

I have long loved Doodlebug Design and their products.    I am sure what drew me in first, many years ago, was the color.   The basic, bright rainbow shades and the whimsy patterns still catch my creative eye, so does their timeless appeal.    That being said, my favorite Doodlebug products include the alphabet stickers [such cute fonts!], paper frills, brads, buttons, paper and glitter --- in a rainbow of colors!

My family --- my two cute K-kiddos, my artsy fartsy husband and myself --- live in an old country home in the middle of rural central Texas.   By day, I am a paper pusher of procedures and publications, but by night I push around pretty patterned papers and a bottle of glue.   Seriously, I am a madwoman ---- momma, wife, Cub Scout den leader, boo-boo kisser, reading buddy, dishwasher, homework mentor, toilet scrubber, paper crafter, craft buddy, mess picker-upper, memory recorder, sword fighter, hip-hip-hoorayer and artist.

Fun Facts about Sherry:

  • What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? I don’t remember ever getting in official trouble over this, but I know my parents must’ve known that my siblings and I used to wreck the house while they were gone bowling.  Every couch cushion ended up in a row with sheets to build a fort and tunnel.  We even used the wooden hallway as a bowling lane --- with real pins and a real bowling ball.  Yikes.
  • What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Folding clothes. But, it is a fair trade because my husband is in charge of washing and drying.
  • If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be? One project --- a renovation of our adjoining kitchen and dining room, which also houses my happy scrappy area.   It is a multi-purpose room, and is the house’s busiest room, but just the thought of having to peel wallpaper from every surface makes me cringe.   But, this fall, I might tackle it with some beadboard and make it the happiest room in the house.  One paper project --- scrapbook my family’s collection of school photos.  I just think that shows awesome growth of a child through the years [and all those lovely hairstyles and high fashion choices].
  • What is one of your favorite quotes? Smile.  It improves your face value.
  • What is one thing that most people wouldn’t guess about you? That my sister Sharon and I are twins.   We could easily be the girl version of the movie Twins.  Total opposites.   Or, that I used to be very shy.

Meet the Doodlebug Design Team - Day 3

Melinda Spinks  http://thescrapfarm.blogspot.com
Doodlebug is reminiscent of being a child in a Sweets Shop. The delicious colours and assortments of embellishments makes it almost impossible to choose what to use first. It’s certainly a problem I love having!

My life is a simple life compared to most, I’m a farmer’s wife and mother of two farm kids in rural Victoria, Australia. I started to scrapping just over two years ago to fill a void in the late evenings. I never imagined I would get caught up in this amazing craft and meet such wonderful people from all over the globe.

Fun Facts about Melinda:
  • What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod? What’s an iPod??? Just kidding, but no I don’t own one, I still play my music from CD’s, tapes and vinyl records. I don’t have a favourite song because I tend to wear them out and then never want to listen to them again so I listen to a variety of music although my all time favourite band is Queen.
  • If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? The farmer (my husband), he is the smartest person I know and I learn everything from him. Thank goodness I know he will never read this or I wouldn’t be able to deal with the pumpkin size head.
  • What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up? The final book and movie in the Harry Potter series… cried most of the way through both.
  • What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/received? A memorable gift was given to me on my 25th birthday. The farmer and I were travelling down the Nile River in Egypt for three days on a faluca boat. He gave me three small blocks of Cadbury plain chocolate which doesn’t sound much, but we hadn’t seen chocolate for almost six months and it tasted heavenly. Of course, the simple things mean the most. ☺
  • What is one thing that most people wouldn’t guess about you? I’m terribly insecure and my closest friends have had to teach me how to take a compliment. I wasn’t a very good student.
Monique Liedtke  http://moniquesscrapbook.blogspot.com
What’s NOT to love???  I LOVE it all!! the bright colors, the patterns, the designs, all the embellishments, the fibers, the letter stickers, everything!!!!

I live in The Netherlands together with my husband of 15 years and 3 wonderful kids: 1 daughter (14) and 2 sons (12 and 6), 1 dog & 2 rabbits. It will be no surprise that they are the main focus of my scrapbooking! I started scrapbooking about 8 years ago and am totally addicted! Ever since I have my own little scrap corner in our living room I scrap every free minute I have!! My other hobbies are reading (in English), crafting (knitting, "playing" with fabrics, etc.), photography, (listening to) music, travelling and walking. I work part-time in a little HR office here in town, I'm a volunteer at my kids' school library and I sometimes help out in my local scrapbook store.

Fun Facts about Monique:
  • What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod? To be honest, I don’t have an iPod. Instead I listen to the radio every minute of the day, even in the office. I love to listen to Alan Parsons, Everything but the girl, Robby Williams, Lady Antebellum, Michael Bublé & Faith Hill, Abba, Shania Twain, Shakira … to name a few.
  • What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? I’m a very impulse type of person, especially when I was young. Often I would just say what I thought and people didn’t always like that and got angry with me. Nowadays I’m much better; I learned to count to 10 first!
  • If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose? Pippi Longstocking!! I would love to live so carefree and of course I love the orange hair!
  • What chore do you absolutely hate doing? I hate cleaning the windows, I only do them when I can’t look through them anymore ☺.
  • If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
  • Christine Middlecamp; I absolutely adore her style and her ability to combine so many bright and cheerful details on one page and still manage to give it a “clean and organized” look!
  • What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?  I think that must have been the last Harry Potter movie (when Snape died). But I cry very easily, sometimes I even cry watching the evening news ☺.
  • If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be? That would be one huge mini-album! I LOVE mini-albums!!
  • What is one of your favorite quotes? Live Life, Laugh Lots, Love Forever.
  • What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/received? The best gift are definitely my 3 kids, nothing comes close! The worst gift was when there was only 1 present underneath the Christmas tree for me and when I opened it, it was a knife grinder!!
  • What is one thing that most people wouldn’t guess about you? Promise me you won’t tell …. but I believed in the Easter Bunny until I was 12 years old!!!

Nancy Damiano  http://www.thepaperorchard.blogspot.com
I love Doodlebug's bold color palettes, cardstock icon stickers and alphabets.

I am a born and bred East Coast girl and currently live in suburban New Jersey with my husband and son. I’m a part-time corporate event planner + full-time mom to a little pip of a boy named Nico who is five. I am passionate about papercrafting, photography and telling my story!

Fun Facts about Nancy:
  • If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? My grandmother. She is the strongest and smartest woman I’ve ever known.
  • What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up? I wasn’t sure I could get through reading The Giving Tree to my son last night. I can be a seriously weepy girl sometimes.
  • What is one of your favorite quotes? “Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can."

Meet the Doodlebug Design Team - Day 1

We are so excited to introduce you to our new Doodlebug Design Team. We'll be featuring 3 designers each day here on the blog through the end of the week and wrap it up on next Monday. We hope you take the time to read about each of these lovely ladies, visit their blogs and even take a minute to follow them...we will be reading your comments and may even select some winners at random!! So it is now my pleasure to start off with our first three team members....

Aphra Bolyer  http://www.aphradeedesigns.blogspot.com
I LOVE Doodlebug’s bright, colorful, and whimsical papers and the variety of coordinating embellishments, especially the brads and buttons.  Oh, and new twine!   My name is Aphra, and I live down South in Louisiana with my Alaskan oil man Jeff and our two boys, ages 11 and 4. While my husband is tromping around in the Alaskan tundra for weeks at a time, I'm home working part-time at a doctor's office, chasing around our two rowdy boys and miniature dachshund Max, and staying up into the wee hours of the night scrapbooking.

Fun Facts about Aphra:
  • What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?  Right now, I’m loving “If I Die Young” by The Band Perry.  I like a good ‘ole sing along.
  • If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?  From about age 6 until about age 10, I wanted to BE Laura Ingalls Wilder from Little House on the Prairie.  Now, however, I’d rather be
  • If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be? It would be putting my layouts in albums.  In fact, it would probably take me about a year to get it done.  Shame, shame . . . I know!

Elizabeth Carney  http://www.elizabethmcarney.com
My very favorite thing about Doodlebug is that each product is fun and makes me smile! I love Doodlebug and have since I started scrapbooking.  I love my family, they mean the world to me! I’ve got a great husband Dayv. We’ve been married 15 years. We have a beautiful daughter Alyssa who is 14 and a freshman in high school and 3 dogs too! We’re a military family and for the past 5 years home has been in Washington.  We love hanging out with one another and you can always bet there is laughter going on!  I recently quit working to go back to school full time to study dental hygiene and am excited about that journey! Aside from scrapping, I love to read, garden, and have loads of fun too!

Fun Facts about Elizabeth:
  • If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?  I would absolutely love being Hermione in the Harry Potter series. Who doesn’t want to go to Hogwarts school?
  • What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/received? The best gift I ever received were the two sets of diamond earrings from Dayv. The first ones were when we were first married and they were hanging on the tree in an ornament and I couldn’t find them. They were special because I ended up giving them to my mom right before she passed away {with Dayv’s blessing} because she always wanted diamond earrings. The second pair was this last year for Christmas again and they were on a teddy bear’s ears {I didn’t see them right away} and he wanted to replace them because I had lovingly given her the first pair.
  • What is one of your favorite quotes?  When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me". Erma Bombeck
  • What is one thing that most people wouldn’t guess about you? He is most noted for his iron work in St. Paul’s cathedral which are called Tijou Gates and they are on either side of the High Altar. Both of these are in London England.
