12 Days of Christmas at Doodlebug - Day 6 with Ro

by Ro Philippsen

For me and my family Christmas is the most magical and the most wonderful time of the year. I have a feeling that when December begins, something really magical surrounds our lives: the magic of Christmas...I really believe that! It is when we gather with family to celebrate peace and love, this is the greatest message we receive from God.

And one of the things I find most symbolic about Christmas is the Advent Calendar, that doing the countdown, we feel the magic taking our hearts day after day.

Every year I like to do a new Advent Calendar, it's like renewing my faith, so this year I decided to do something interesting, I using  empty tape rolls, like the ones you see in the image.

During the year I kept all empty rolls I used, knowing that at some point would use them!
I covered the inside and outside of the rolls with the gorgeous "North Pole" Collection cardstocks, and also applied gesso at the edges.

And then I was just have fun with the amazing Doodlebug "North Pole" Collection and Doodlebug Alphabet Stickers, to create the Advent Calendar this year.

I hope you've enjoyed this inspiration, and wish you all have a Magic and Enchanted Christmas with your family and all the people you love.

3 - They should look like.

4 - With a circular punch, stick one end of the two strips.

5 - And cut the other end in "V", and you have two equal strips the image below.

6 - Glue the smaller strip on the biggest.

7 - And fold as the image below, about 3 inches.

8 – And now you need just embellish it.

Tuesday Tutorial: Haunted Home Decor by Ro

Today I would like share with you a cute home décor for Halloween. You could win this new collection from Doodlebug, scroll down to learn more.

Here's the Tutorial:

Step 1 – You will need:
  • modeling paste
  • 4empty Match box
  • Canvas 8”x 12”
  • Black cans spray paint
  • painting knive
  • The amazing Haunted Manor Collection

Step 2 – First I texturized the frame of the 8"x12" reverse canvas, using modeling paste and a painting knife.

Step 3 - After the gesso dries, I apply the black spray paint.

I recommend that you do this in a box to avoid the mess that's around, preferably outdoors because of the smell of paint can is very strong.

Step 4 - I don't fully painted it, I left half shaded.

Step 5 - And I also painted matchboxes that were so.

Step 6 - And then I decorated the small boxes, leaving them open, and I decorated the inside too.

Step 7 – And here is my Halloween home décor

Doodlebug Design - ColorBox - Pigment Ink Pad - Tangerine, Limeade, Swimming Pool, Bubblegum, BeetleBlack

Beach Treasure Hunt
by Sherry Cartwright

To create the background for this layout, I used the circle/cupcake stamp from Party Time.  I cut the cupcake out of the circle.  I inked up the circle stamp with embossing ink and then used clear embossing powder to set it.   I used a turquoise mist with a paintbrush to circle over the stamped image and then again on a scalloped border.   I wanted them soft and reminiscent of the ocean waves.  The polka dot paper was a bit too stark for this layout, so I toned it down with a wash of white acrylic paint.

I also made washi tape using paper medical tape and a cloud stamped in the turquoise/swimming pool ink.

Supply List: simply sweet alphabet, home sweet home, borders, journal shapes, party time, sweet cakes, small alphabets, rhinestones, pearls, boutique brads-seashell, starfish

Bunny Layout
by Jing-Jing Nickel

I used a circle stamp in the birthday collection that contained a cupcake in the center.  I masked the cupcake out of the circle and stamped letters for the layout title.

Supply List: Ink pads: limeade, bubble blue, beetle black
Stamps: alphabet
Hello spring collection: fancy frills, chickadees, springtime stripe, baby butterflies, easter bunnies, easter parade
