All About Me Challenge: Tya Smith

Hello Doodlebug friends! I hope you are enjoying our "All About Me Challenge" posts! It's so fun to be the star of my project - usually I am just a behind the scenes girl! For my project I decided to make a fun photo tray project featuring some of the things that I love. I have several of these fun trays displayed around my house with various different themes - and this one is all about me! How fun! Here is the photo tray:

One of my all time favorite collections is the "Sweet Things" collection. The colors in this collection are my favorites - red, teal, pink and black are all top of my list (another tidbit All About Me! ) To start with I printed out 6 photos in black and white and placed them in the tray. I then started selecting papers, stickers and embellishments from the Sweet Things collection.I picked the tray up at a craft store. Here are some close ups of the tray and decorations:
The title of my tray comes from the paper with the 4x4 squares. I love using these squares for titles! I added a few lily white Skinny letter stickers to the square.

Doodlepops make great decorations. This glittery heart and flower were the perfect touch! (And see that lovely lady in the glasses - that is my dear friend and Doodlebug owner Cynthea. I am lucky enough to get to work at the Doodlebug home offices and I treasure this company so much and the chance to represent and design for them is such an honor. Seriously - the best company EVER!

I love being a wife and mom! My family is the center of my world and I am so glad I get the chance to be in their lives. We have a lot of fun together.
My Fur Babies - Love these cute faces...I love animals of all kinds!

I was going to type my journaling - but I wanted to add a more personal touch to this tray with my own handwriting on the journaling spot. And of course, I had to add a photo of my favorite boy wizard. Another All About Me tidbit is I am a HUGE Harry Potter Fan!
Hopefully I have inspired you all to get yourself and the things you love recorded! I wish I would have had something like this to look back on of my loved ones who have passed on. Tell your story friends! And add some Doodlebug cuteness in to make it pretty! Happy Crafting everyone!

All About Me Challenge: Wendy Sue Anderson

Hi Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, joining my fellow team members in the "All About Me" challenge!  Before I share my project, I need to tell you a few things about ME!  I was the little girl who saved her allowance and then begged her mom to go to the office supply store.  It was heaven to me.  I drooled over notebooks, pens, paper clips...I loved it there!  Now, when I saw this challenge, my first instinct was to create a layout and talk about my love of all things office-supply.  But then, I decided that I wanted to make something - something for ME!  Seriously, as often as I am crafting and making fun things, they usually aren't for ME...so I got really selfish and used some of my favorite new(ish) Doodlebug products to whip up a few fun notebooks!  You see, in addition to be an office-supply lover, I am also a total list-maker.  (Seeing a trend here??)  Anyway, here's my totally "all about me" selfish challenge project:

I made these fun little notebooks with the "At The Zoo" collection! I did a little bit of mixing and matching with patterned papers, doodle-pops, paper doilies, and doodle twine!

This koala is probably my favorite of all the little zoo pals!

Although this guy is a close second! ;)

I used a variety of "Teensy Type" letters on the covers too:

Just a quick little run-down of the process, in case any of YOU need a sweet little personalized notebook to throw in your purse or backpack or car - or all of the above! ;)

Cut the cover from patterned paper - 4 1/2" x 12" - then score 2 1/2" from the right edge and 3 3/4" from the left edge - this will allow the two pieces to slightly overlap on the front.

Cut five pieces of regular printer paper to 4" x 10" and fold in half.  Use a sewing machine to stitch along the center and attach the papers to the cover:

Now you can add clips, washi, stickers, or anything else to embellish the inside!

Use coordinating twine to create a tie-closure for each notebook!

Let me know if you have any  questions - and please let me know if you're an office supply junkie too! ;)

All About Me Challenge: Karen Hanson

Hi everyone, it's Karen and today we are getting personal! That's right, lean in because I have some deep, dark secrets all about me to share for our current "All About Me" challenge. And by deep and dark, I really mean bright and fun because this is a Doodlebug post after all!
Okay, so here is my first secret...over the last 8 years, I have become a huge fan of coffee!! What happened 8 years ago that put me onto this caffeinated wonderment?! Well, it was the birth of my first daughter...a little monkey who, unlike me, came into this world with a preference for many evening wake ups and early mornings! So earlier this year, when Doodlebug introduced Cream & Sugar, well, I was in heaven and I knew it would be the perfect collection for my "All About Me" project. Becuase the truth is, my desk is not complete without a rather large mug of coffee!
Now that leads me to secret #notsosecret fact number two...I have a desk that needs a cup of coffee because I also spend my days in the classroom. I am, and have been a teacher for the last 18 years. I love my day job...especially becuase it gives me a reason for secret #3... I love sticky notes as much as I love Doodlebug. In fact, the only thing left to make my life complete would be Doodlebug themed sticky notes! Right?! So why not create a coffee themed Doodlebug sticky note holder...
...and because I love a good play on word on my crafty projects (can you put this one together), I decided to add one to the back...
...and a little gluten free goodness on the front because even if a girl has a hubby that has to avoid the stuff like the plague, you can guarantee that this girl with find every gluten free delicatable there might be out there...like macrons!!! All of these little add one were created with the Odds and Ends pack that Doodlebug creates for each collection. Oh, and here's another one of my secrets, I'm not sure that any Doodlebug project I have ever created has gone without a die cut from the Odds and Ends pack! These are worth their weight in gold...
...just like mini paper clips, because I mean really, when you are obsessed with stationary, it doesn't get cuter than mini paper clips!!
So there you have it! It's Karen wrapped up Ina little sticky note holder!! Oh, and here's one last tidbit...I love writing crafty tutorials, so perhaps there might be one coming up soon for a project similar to this one! You will just have to come back to see! Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Karen
