For this layout, I documented a fun memory with my sweet husband during our trip to Las Vegas. We went to see The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere, and it was absolutely amazing! The experience was incredible, but what made it even more special was spending the evening with my favorite travel buddy. I really am so lucky to do life with this wonderful man.
For my page design, I created two main clusters on each side of the layout using layered patterned papers from the collection. The bright colors and playful patterns really help frame the photo while leaving lots of white space so the embellishments and title can shine. This is also a great way to use up your scraps, like I did. I also added some light ink blending behind the embellishments to create a soft sky-like background.
On the left side of the layout, I layered several patterned papers, Lucky Charm, Color Me Happy, Clover Patch, and Rainbow Skies, to build a colorful foundation. Sitting on top of the layers is the cutest rainbow and sunshine embellishment, from the All the Things die cuts, which instantly adds a happy vibe to the page. I also tucked in a sweet little cloud with baker’s twine and a heart accent to add some texture and dimension. The combination of sunshine, rainbows, and clovers perfectly captures the “lucky” theme of the collection.
On the right side of the page, I built a layered cluster around my photo using more of the same bright patterned papers. I added a cute little bird, flowers, hearts, and clovers from the All the Things die cuts to bring the area to life. I love how the pops of Sprinkle enamel dots add shine and dimension to the flowers and help tie everything together.
For the center of the layout, I used the bold “Lucky Me” title, which fits the story perfectly. Just beneath the title, I added my journaling strips that share a little about how much my husband means to me and how grateful I am for our adventures together. I love using journaling strips because they keep the story clean and easy to read while still adding a nice design element.
I added another fun embellishment cluster featuring a rainbow, flowers, and a sweet little “You Color My World” banner. This sentiment felt perfect for this page because my husband truly does brighten my world. I also added a little ladybug and some baker’s twine for extra texture and that signature Doodlebug charm.
To finish off the layout, I added a few small Icon Stickers and enamel Sprinkles throughout the page for pops of color and dimension. The bright colors, sweet icons, and layered textures make this layout feel playful, happy, and full of love.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this layout inspires you to pull out the Lucky Me collection from Doodlebug Design and document someone who makes you feel lucky, too. Whether it’s for St. Patrick’s Day memories or everyday moments with the people you love, this collection is perfect for celebrating the joy in life.
Happy crafting, and may your day be filled with a little extra luck!
