Hi Crafty Friends! Today, I am here sharing a fun version of the Advent Calendar House decorated with the Gingerbread Kisses Collection. This calendar is designed in the shape of a house and comes with 24 drawers, each of which can be opened to reveal a surprise each day. You can fill the drawers with so many things including positive quotes, crafty inspiration, a creative way to celebrate the Holiday Season, or your kid's favorite candy! Overall, using the Gingerbread Kisses Collection to decorate a Christmas calendar is a fun and creative way to count down the days until Christmas.
You can decorate the calendar with Mini icons, 12 x 12 Double Sided Paper - Christmas Jammies, and other festive elements from the collection to make it look like a real gingerbread house. Add foam adhesive tape for layers! Let's get started...
My first step was to paint the drawers with distressed inks- I chose six colors and painted all four rows using the same colors. Then, I placed them in different order. Next, I used the 12"X12" double-sided paper - Christmas Jammies - 24 squares with the numbers 1 through 24. You also need a 1" paper punch to cut a half circle at the top!
After I glued all the cards to the 24 drawers I embellished them with ribbon, tulle and popped a few of icon stickers, mini icon stickers, puffy stickers and the like with foam adhesive. To complete the look, you can hang the calendar on a wall or place it on a tabletop. You can also use it as a centerpiece for your holiday decorations.
