CANDY CARNIVAL MICRO PLANNER | with Anabelle

Right now, micro sized planners are all the rage! I love how cute and tiny they are and how they can be tossed in your purse to be used when you're on the go. When I saw the Candy Carnival collection, I knew it would be perfect to create my own planner for October. I had so much fun that I decided to create a Traveler's Notebook cover for it, as well. Here is how it turned out. All I needed was my Candy Carnival goodies and a few other items. These included planner discs, a disc punch (though you can use a hole punch and cut the slits yourself), a laminator (which isn't totally a necessity) and my sewing machine (again, not a necessity).

I started off by creating my Micro Planner. I cut the covers to 3 by 4" and rounded the corners. Then I laminated them. I punched them and attached them along with the notebook pages to the discs.  Decorating the front cover was so fun. The little dracula Doodlepop with the bat along with the sweet pumpkin, look so cute on the cover.
Next, I cut some paper from the 6 by 6 pad and created my dividers with them. I didn't laminate these, but did add some cute tab stickers.  I added a sticker from the 12 by 12 This and That sheet and popped the bat sticker up with some foam adhesive. If you look at the top of the planner, you'll see the clips I made with the Doodlepop candy stickers. I love attaching them to paper clips with hot glue and attaching them to my planner pages.
This next insert uses another This and That sticker along with a die cut from the Chit Chat pack.

The third insert uses my favorite paper. I love the rainbow of tickets and thought they would look perfect with the carnival master and wheel of fortune die cuts. The fun, colorful inserts really make it fun to flip though this little notebook.

To make the TN cover, I measured a notebook that I already had and cut the paper to 11" by 5.5". At the 8.5" mark, I folded it in and cut diagonally to create the inside pocket. After laminating, I stitched around the edges with the flap closed, securing the pocket on the inside. If you don't want to sew, you could use some coordinating washi tape instead. Here's my filled pocket.
One thing that I did to make the laminated cover fit around my notebook better, was I folded it, leaving the arched spine, and clipped it shut. I left it over night so that it would 'mold' to the shape and accommodate my disc bound planner.

Next, I punched a hole in the middle of the spine and added a piece of elastic cord. Typically, TNs have elastic on the spines so that the notebooks can be secured inside. I didn't want my elastics hanging out there, so I used some fun ribbon from my stash along with the twine to create a decorative look. I was able to slide the flap of my planner into these on the inside.
Finally, I crated a little planner swag using a die cut, one of the buttons and a candy cane Doodlepop sticker. I attached it to the elastic cord with  one of the small clothespins. I love how it gives it a finished look.
I love how chunky and colorful and fun my Micro Planner turned out. Here's a peek at the side view, just because. :)

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I created this planner. I can't wait to make more! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
