GREAT OUTDOORS GRATITUDE JOURNAL GIFT SET | with Wanda

Hello Doodlebug Friends! I'm so excited today to share a project with the new Great Outdoors Collection! Happy November - I love November! A time of gratitude and Thanksgiving... This new collection is perfect for so many occasions: Fall, Camping, New Home, Cute Animals Scrapbooks, and Thanksgiving. The images that jumped out at me right away were the trees and leaves, and that gorgeously cozy cabin. I decided to make a gratitude journal using the warm autumn tones. And because I will probably give this as a gift, I made a small card to hold a Starbucks card, and a straw decoration. A cuppa and journaling!

I made the journal myself by covering chipboard in awesome patterned papers and then binding it with my We R Memory Keepers Cinch Tool. Here are my three pieces in this project.

I gathered lots of trees and hearts and mushrooms... Then I grouped everything around the cozy cabin. I used my sewing machine to sew some of the trees and all around the edges of the yellow patterned paper. I splashed on some white ink. I also used Great Outdoors stickers, Sprinkles and more.

I covered the front and back chipboards with the cool woodgrain paper. Then I added the layer that is stitched. I wanted it a bit shabby so I turned up the edges with my fingers.

I used the 'thankful' and 'so blessed' stickers to make it a gratitude journal.... The inside pages are a mix of kraft cardstock, white cardstock, Doodlebug Gingham and other Patterned papers...

This Starbucks card from this Fall is the perfect match to the Great Outdoors collection. I made a small kraft card and used a pretty gift card die for this piece. I'll write a note inside and give these gifts together. I think all my friends love coffee as much as I do!

I love that big buffalo check paper!

The front and back inside covers are finished off with this beautiful fall floral.

And this is the back cover! Those little owls are adorable! These warm fall colors, with a pop of teal, are so lovely. This entire new collection will warm your heart for sure.

That's it for me today! Thanks for spending some time with me here on the Doodlebug Blog. I'll be back in a couple of weeks with more fun things! Until then, happy crafting!

FUN AT THE PARK DISNEYLAND LAYOUT | with Lisa

After two projects using Happy Haunting, I went back to the Fun at the Park Collection. I'm super excited for the new collections to arrive at my doorstep, but until then, I wanted to created another layout documenting my visits at Disneyland and using the adorable Doodlebug cut files.

To start, I needed to decide which cut files I was going to use. I decided to go with the Ice Cream Cone 2, the cute Polkadot Bow and the Sunshine files from the Fun at the Park Collection. The ice cream is just too cute and with the added bow, it's just to die for... LOL :)

So I let the machine cut out all of the pieces and then I assembled everything, after putting some color around the edges of each piece with my Distress Oxides. I love doing this when I don't stitch around the border, to give my little characters more dimension and interest. I also went in with my fine tip white jelly pen, to draw the highlights.

Usually, I don't use ripped strips of patterned paper on the sides of my layouts, but I absolutely wanted to use this white and black striped paper and since I couldn't use it as a background, I decided to go with the strips... and, I LOVE IT!!! :) I adhered them to a light pink sheet of cardstock, distressed the edges even more with my fingers and then added some pieces of red and white dotted washi tape. I went over the strips with my sewing machine, using pink and orange thread.

For the background, I had started with something completely different. I used one of the patterned papers from the collection. The one with the colorful confetti. I added gesso in the center and some pink color and created this colorful mess... Well sometimes colorful messes are cool and beautiful, but this time, it was a real mess... :) I didn't want to use that, so I used a simple pink cardstock sheet and added pink and orange to it with my Gelatos.

I backed my photo on some pieces of patterned paper and then added my big embellishments, as well as my photo, to the layout. For the ice cream and sun, I used two layers of fun foam, to make them stand out a lot.
Then I went through all the embellishments from the collection and added the popcorn cart Shaker Pop,  enamel popcorn, popcorn stickers, enamel stars and the title. I used the Abigail alphas underneath the photo and hand-cut out the letters to write FUN, on top of the ice cream.

I'm so in love with the way it turned out!!! :)

So now, run and go grab your amusement park photos to scrap some memories with the adorable Fun at the Park collection and cut files! :)See you soon!

FUN AT THE PARK SHAKER CHARM | with Miguel

One of the things that I've enjoyed creating lately are charm shakers.  You can create different shapes with your scrapbook dies and make charms that go perfectly with your Doodlebug collections, like this fun charm.

I used a hot air balloon die from my stash that worked perfectly with Doodlebug's Fun at the Park Collection.  I decorated it with shape sprinkles and icons to achieve the perfect accompaniment to my acrylic notebook.

I think that both projects look awesome together, don´t you?

Thanks for reading today, see you soon.
