DESIGN TEAM 2021 - 2022 | INTRODUCTIONS

Hello and Happy Sunday to everyone.

Today we continue with the individual introductions to our 2021-2021 Design Team. Some familiar faces and also a new face amongst the ranks.

I've always been a creative person and through the years I've tried many different crafts. But when I started scrapbooking, about 17 years ago, my love affair with paper began. Scrapbooking turned into altering anything I could get my hands on, to making projects with the help of my Silhouette machine. Even though my projects often include other materials such as chipboard, wood and foamboard, I call myself a paper crafter. Working with Doodlebug Design has been so much fun over the years. Their cute whimsical style matches my own and is always an inspiration.

Hi, I'm Erica, also known as Erica Rose Creates.
I have been scrapbook designer and educator for over 6 years. I started scrapbooking in Middle School when I was given a scrapbook for Valentine's Day. I loved taking photos and documenting my time in school and with my friends. This has carried me through until adulthood where I have continued my passion of documenting my family. I love to explore when creating, thought I love clean, white space with splashes of color and the use of inks and mists. More recently I have added the use of cutfiles to my layouts which has quickly become my signature style.

MADE WITH LOVE CEREAL BOX CADDY | with Shellye

Don't throw away those cereal or cracker boxes!  Today I'm sharing the cutest "Made With Love" Caddy using a recycled cracker box and the newest collection from Doodlebug Design:

To get started I used a cracker box that measures 2"X8"X8" and gently deconstructing the box so that it was completely flat.  Next, I traced a 3" circle into a 4 circle grid onto one of the 8X8 panels.  I used a craft knife to carefully cut out the circles.

I used one of the patterned papers from the "Made With Love" Collection Kit and adhered it to the side with the circles. Again, I carefully cut out the circles, from the patterned paper.  For the remainder of the box, I used the lighter red cardstock to cover the remaining sides (back 8X8 panel and the four sides).  After trimming away the excess red cardstock around the box, I reassembled by gluing the sides back together.

The cardstock didn't quite cover the entire box, so I used some of the yellow Paper Frills along the edge!  I also made a handle by piecing two pieces of 1.25"X12" strips of patterned paper together.  To make the handles extra-sturdy, I first cut the two strips of paper to 3"X12" and then scored into two sections and then folding.

I decorated the front of the caddy with one of the large die-cuts that I laminated to protect from bending.  I also hot-glued on a couple of Boutique Buttons and one of the small flower die-cuts.

I inserted these premade paper cups (found in the Target Dollar Spot) into the four holes, but you could also use paper cups, mini jars, or even large muffins or cupcakes! To the inside of the cups I added all sorts of goodies for crafting.  I used binder rings to hold packages of Doodle Pops and Sprinkles together.  I embellished the rings with laminated die-cuts, stickers, and a bow.

I also cut the 6X6 Paper Pad tag papers in half and they fit neatly into the paper cup.

I love the idea of using the caddy for giving craft supplies, but also think about using it for baked goods, a cupcake kit (sprinkles, cupcake liners and gift tags) or a cosmetics/manicure gift!

Thanks for joining!

MADE WITH LOVE FEBRUARY MONTHLY SCRAP PAGES | with Traci

Hello my friends!  Last month I shared my January 8x8 pages (January post) that I created for my granddaughter's album. Many of you messaged me and asked if I was going to do layouts for each month ... yes!  So I'm back to share my February pages with you!  This time I used the ridiculously cute Made With Love collection.

I started with a white card stock base and layered on that pretty pistachio mint background paper.  I knew I wanted three pictures on the page, so I created one large photo mat and then added a "flippie" using an adorable 3x4 card.

See that cute heart paper peeking out from the flip-up card?  That'll make adorable mats for two more of Rylee's pictures.

For the February title, I used the brand new My Type card stock stickers.  Upper and lower case come on the sheet, along with lots of numbers so I'm stocking up on these!

I love how the scallop edge of the You Bake Me So Happy sticker looks 3 dimensional.  So CUTE!

I couldn't resist using lots of epoxy hearts (With All My Heart mix) on these pages.

I love this pocket page.  It has a 2" band down the side and two 4x6 pockets.  For the top 4x6 card, I added a border of those adorable epoxy hearts, and for the bottom pocket I created a folding card so that I could get more pictures on my page.  I used a piece of 4" x 12" white card stock, scored it at 6" and embellished the front and inside.  It slipped easily into the bottom pocket for a fun interactive element.

For my last page I created a grid design, but all of the squares needed some circles so I punched out some 3" scallop circles and embellished them with cute hearts.

I love the colors in this collection so much and I had such a good time creating these pages.  I'll try to share my March 8x8 pages with you next month, but until then, I hope you have lots of fun creating your own projects with Made With Love!! Share them with us @doodlebugdesign :)
