Her Momma's Sunshine Layou by Stephanie Buice

Hello! Stephanie here today to Share my Hello Sunshine Layout with you today.
There are layouts that are just so much fun to make and this was one of them.
I looked at all the patterns in this collection to choose from and the Bright Blossoms paper stood out immediately. I really like the grid design of the sheets of note book paper because I knew that they would allow me to create 6 different "scenes" on one layout.

I really like layouts that are symmetrical and a grid design almost always provides just that.
I like how they off so many opportunities to play with and add many more different embellishments than I usually would to a page.

I mostly stuck to the Hello Sunshine collection for this one but also added in a Simply Put card insert from the Kraft in Color collection. I cut out the sayings that were in strips and used the ones in coordinating colors. The words were perfect.

For each scene I just played around piecing together different pieces from the collection to make them each unique. I dded in a few other things like Doodletwine, a mini clothespin and paper clip to add some other interest.
The pictures of my niece and her mom were made for this layout, I love how they're laying in the fresh grass enjoying a few moments together.

Thank you for coming by today, we always appreciate when you visit us here on the blog.
Stephanie.

Hello Sunshine: Bloom Altered Project by Jennifer Beason

Hello Doodlebug fans! Jennifer here to share an altered project I made using one of my favorite collections, Hello Sunshine. The inspiration and letters, for this project started with this silhouette file.
Here's how it was done.
  • Using the Silhouette, the letters B,L and M were cut out of chipboard. To make the letters 3D, I cut them out about twelve times each and glued them together.
  • The sides of the letters were then covered with paper.
  • Next, patterned paper letters were cut out and hand stitched.
  • The paper letters were then glued the surface of the chipboard letters, as shown in pic.4.
  • Grass border pieces were cut out then glued along the bottom of each letter, as shown.
  • For the base of the project a 3"x10" wooden box lid was used. The lid was covered with patterned paper on the top and sides. Some more grass borders were cut then applied to the sides and front. Next a mini wood fence was painted and covered with paper. The fence was then attached to the base. More grass borders were applied to the back of the fence.
  • Bug, flower and letter stickers were then used to embellish the front and sides of the base.
  • To add some dimension to the wheelbarrow sticker, I traced the bottom green section, then cut it out of chipboard. It was covered with matching paper then glued on top of the sticker. Flowers from the Bright Bouquet doodle pops sticker, were also used for added dimension.
  • Instead of the flowers from the Silhouette file, I decided to use some large chipboard scalloped circles, along with flowers from the Spring Flowers Craft Kit, Fun Flower Doodle Pops and some additional chipboard circles.
  • The flower pieces were layered together and pixie sticks used as stems.
  • To attach the flowers to the Pixie stems, hot glue was used. In pic. 11 you can see a chipboard circle was also glued to the back of the flower to keep it looking neat.
  • Small holes were drilled into the base and the flower stems were pushed through. Hot glue was used underneath the lid to hold the flowers in place. Leaves from the craft kit were then glued onto the stems.
  • The letters were hot glued onto the base and and some fun flower stickers and Sprinkles were added around the base, for added color.
Here are some close ups of the finished piece.
Happy crafting! Jennifer

You Color My World Layout

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with a fun layout featuring Doodlebug's new Hello Sunshine Collection!  I think this is one of my all-time favorites!  The Kraft mixed with Doodlebug brights is my FAVORITE combination!  I wanted to show off all the fun colors, so I created a "rainbow" background.  Take a peek...

This is my daughter in Key West last summer.  Her name is Caroline, so of course we had to pose with the famous Caroline Street sign!  I love the new word stickers on the This & That Cardstock Sticker Sheet...such a fun addition!

I think I used almost all of the flowers from the Icons Sticker Sheet...and I also mixed in some more from the new Spring Flowers Sprinkle Shapes & the Fun Flowers Doodlepops! I also am in love with the little bugs in the collection...again, only Doodlebug can make a bug cute!!!
I added a rainbow to my title as well using some Shin-Dig glitter alphas!

That's it for me today!  Make sure to keep coming by the Doodlebug Design Blog for more Design Team Inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!
