Introducing 2014 Design Team Members Courtney Lee & Melinda Spinks

Today we are thrilled to introduce you to two more 2014 Design Team members, Courtney Lee and Melinda Spinks. 

Courtney Lee

What?!? Is this real!?! I am SO SO SO SO excited (and still pinching myself) to announce that I made the Doodlebug Design Team!!! My name is Courtney Lee and my blog is Court's Crafts. I love all things paper and have recently discovered fabric.... in. love. Just when you thought you had too much patterned paper - try fabric!!! 

I live in Carmel, California with my handsome husband and beautiful little girl Emmaline. We have another baby girl due in February and I cannot wait to meet her. 

I LOVE Doodlebug. The cuteness - the whimsy - the bold colors. Love love love. I recently discovered Doodlepops and I can't get enough! I am thrilled that Doodlebug makes fabric as I am addicted to sewing now! I would love to work with fabric! I make everything from little girls' dresses to home decor and am loving every minute. I am happy to send you some samples of my sewing!

I currently design for May Arts Ribbon, Xyron Inc., Imaginisce (2014) and My Creative Time. (My Creative Time will be ending December 31st. Xyron is up for renewal in February.)

G'day from Down Under!

I'm Melinda Spinks and I'm tickled pink to continue for another term with the gorgeous Doodlebug family. Now a little about me...I live on our farm in North East Victoria, Australia with my husband (the farmer) and our three little stinkers 14, 8 and almost 2. I'd love to say our life is one of perfect harmony with a pristine house and a weedless garden full of blooming roses but that would be a pipe-dream and a very large fib. Life is busy and there are never enough hours in the day but I wouldn't have it any other way as I get bored very quickly when I don't have something to keep me occupied... hence the reason why I fell into scrapbooking just over 4 years ago. I had a void in the evenings that needed filling when the kids were in bed and the farmer was asleep in his chair. I'd always been crafty of sorts and so I jumped at the opportunity to do something creative whilst preserving memories along the way. Little did I realise how this incredible journey would change my life and introduce me to the most amazing people all over the world, many who have become life-long friends.

I must admit I have always been a sucker for the whimsical and funky designs of Doodlebug along with the amazing rainbow of colors which makes designing so much fun... and today I would like to share some of my favorite projects.

We are so excited to start introducing you to this year's Design Team here and there. We'll surprise you with these posts and mix it up with some sneak peeks of new collections coming out next week at CHA. So let us kick it off with the new year and introduce to you one of our new team members along with one of our returning members. Welcome to Kathy Skou and welcome back Wendy Sue Anderson.

Hi Everyone...my name is Kathy Skou and I am BEYOND THRILLED to be a part of the 2014 Doodlebug Design Team! 

About Me I live in Massachusetts with my husband, and our 15 year old daughter.  We also have 2 spoiled kitties who rule the roost.  When I'm not running Mom's Taxi Service, I do some volunteering in town and also some design work & teaching at my LSS Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I also currently design for The Twinery and Paper Issues.  I have been scrapbooking for about 10 years now.  I'm mostly a layout kind of girl, but have been dabbling more into altered items.  If I had to describe my style it would be light and playful...I love adding some whimsy to my work and scrap the everyday moments.  Doodlebug Design was my first manufacturer "crush".  I love the bright colors and adorable embellishments. (I am still hoarding every color of Paper Frills...)  Doodlebug complements my style completely!

My best "fan girl" moment:  Getting to go the Doodlebug booth at CHA this past summer!! (There was swooning involved..!) Octoberfest 2012 - Pictures of my daughter & friends at a neighborhood Octoberfest using Happy Harvest.

Made for Each Other - I created this to celebrate my 21st wedding anniversary.  I thought the Cup of Jo Doodlepops from the Day to Day Collection were a perfect fit!!!

Merry Christmas Card - This card was inspired by the Holiday Home Doodlepop.  As soon as I saw it, I envisioned a wintry scene!

High-top Pencil Holder - As soon as I saw this SVG file, I thought of the Take Note Collection.  I thought the colors were perfect and I love the Expressions paper.  I also couldn't resist making washi tape aglets on the end of my laces!

Boo Wall Hanging - Leave it to Doodlebug to make a spider cute.  I used Halloween Parade to decorate these letters created from SVG files.  The cute little embellies complete the project!

Hello Doodlebug friends! 

I'm Wendy Sue and I am so so so excited to be included in the 2014 design team. I am a native Utahn and I just love living here, close to Doodlebug headquarters, where we enjoy beautiful snowy winters and gorgeous warm summers, with a few weeks of spring and autumn thrown in for good measure. I love scrapbooking photos of my four awesome kiddos and my super sweet husband - you'll be seeing lots of them in the near future! Besides scrapbooking, I love spending time in the outdoors with my family and when I can find the time, I love decorating our home, baking yummy cookies, and occasionally curling up with a good book. Doodlebug was my very first scrapbook "crush" and I just feel like I've hit the jackpot to be able to continue designing for them for another year! yay! :)
