OH WHAT FUN TREAT BOXES | with Karen

Hey Doodlebug fans! I have been crafting cards like a crazy woman these last few weeks (an loving every minute of it, I might add) but I wanted to share a little something different today. Sometimes, you want to add a little extra "something" with your greetings, so I always love make little treat containers this time of the year. So I decided to design one that holds two of the round classics chocolates - and I can't wait to share the details with you!

The 12x12 patterned paper is a great choice for these containers. For these, I used the All Spruced Up pattern and the Twinkle time pattern. These work great because you can actually see the reverse side of the paper in the design. So while you don't have to use these papers, just keep that in mind when making your selection.

On each one, I embellished each one with a little tag that I cut out from the 6x8 patterned paper
stack...

...and then layered some die cuts from the Odds and Ends pack on top. Oh, I almost forgot, I kept those little tags in place with a trusty classic Chunky Brad! You can write a little message on the back of the tag or let a sentiment do the talking for you (mine were fussy cut from the 6x8 patterned paper pack. It's that easy! Convinced that you need to make some too? Here are some measurements that will help:

For the "wrapper", cut a piece of cardstock to 7 3/8" x 3 1/8". With the long edge across the top of your scoring board, score at the 1 7/8", 3 1/4", 4 3/8" and 5 5/8".

for the "basket" - Using a different piece of cardstock (coordinate with your first piece or change it up for a mix and match look), cut it at 5 1/2" x 3 3/4". With the short edge at the top, score at the 1 1/4" and 2 1/2".

Rotate the paper 90 degrees and then score at the 1/4 and the 4 1/4 marks.

To make the basket a bot easier to fold, notch the middle section that was created with your last score lines.

Fold it up and add adhesive on the side ends to hold it together.

Take the "wrapper" pieces and fold all your score lines. Place the basket in the middle section (I add some adhesive on the bottom to hold it in place).

Pinch it up, embellish with your tag and or a mini paper doily and then hold it together with some mini paper clips. And there you have it - a cute little treasure box for the season. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed making it! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
