Hey friends! Brianna here today and I had so much fun working with the Oh What Fun collection again this week. This collection just screams happy and you just can't help but get in the holiday spirit while creating with it. Here's my page:
When I originally received this collection, I immediately noticed the trees in rainbow colors. I wanted to make a layout that would have them as a main focus (other than my photos of course), so I pulled the ones from the Odds & Ends pack. I set my trees aside and built my base using the Merry & Bright 12x12 patterned paper. I then took the white cardstock from the coordinating Solid Assortment 12x12 pack and trimmed it down to a 10x10. I matted it using the Bubblegum pink cardstock that I trimmed to a 10.5x10.5 size. I adhered them both down to my Merry & Bright paper. The border of the pink cardstock really makes my white cardstock pop on top of the stripes. I'm really glad that I added it!
Next, I lined up all of my trees and put them in rainbow order. I thought it would be fun to grab an extra Christmas tree with lights and put it right in the center. Before I adhered them, I made sure to pop them all up on foam tape for some dimension and interest. I also added some of the stars from the Christmas Eve Shape Sprinkles to the tops of each one. They came out so cute and I love how they pop at the top of my page.
I took my trio of photos and matted them with one of the 6x8 papers. I chose to print them in black and white so the colors in my photos wouldn't compete with the colors in the collection. My photos were taken in front of our Christmas tree so they're a bit dark and I thought it would be best to not print them in color.
For my title, I chose the three "Ho Ho Ho' words and adhered them above my photos so that they would be right in the center. I love how it turned out!
I really wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum since my original idea was to have the trees has one of the focal points. So, I simply added a Santa and the bag of toys die cuts from the Odds & Ends pack and adhered them on each side of my photos. I also sprinkled in a few of the candy canes from the Puffy Icons sticker sheet since my daughter is wearing candy cane pajamas and she's holding a candy cane ornament. Gotta love a little theme!
Lastly, I thought the top of my design needed a little something, so I pulled out a "Merry Christmas" banner from the Chit Chat pack and added it in. To take it a step further, I pulled the adorable little red birds from the Deer Friends Doodle-Pop and adhered them to each side of it. It looks like they're holding the banner with their little mouths... So cute! Here's one last look:
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way. I'll see you in my next post friends!!
