I LOVE using sketches when I create layouts - and I especially love the sketches over at the PageMaps website. This layout was inspired by this adorable layout and I pretty much followed it exactly. Big thanks to them for creating such a fun sketch!
I love that this collection included some aqua in the color pallet along with the traditional red, white, and blue. The colorful dots on the Polka Dot Parade paper were a great pop of color on my white cardstock background. I also added a strip of the "America the Beautiful" paper with the tiny colorful grid. I like to add different scales of pattern paper on my layouts for interest.
These next photos are some close-ups of the rest of the decorations on the page. The cute snow-cone is from the Odds and Ends and I added some Stickles on the dots for some sparkle.
I can't forget to add journaling to the page - this was typed up on the computer and then mounted on a piece of the red "Family Picnic" paper that I notched the end to make into a banner shape. I tied some Swimming Pool Doodle Twine on the end. You can also see I added lots of star Shape Sprinkles here and there throughout the layout. They add such a shine!!
Something new that I am including with my projects is a printable set of instructions on how YOU can recreate my projects. I am calling them "Doodle Downloads and I will attach a link below that will take you to a Google Doc with a supply sheet and full instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions! Click the link below!
