LOTS O' DOTS TRAVEL PLANNER | with Anabelle

What better time to use my Lots O'Dots Daily Doodle than the summer time? The bright and lively colors are perfect for this time of year. Today, I am sharing how I used the Simply Spring collection to design my July calendar and to make a 'no sew' pocket to hold things in my TN. The Simply Spring collection has such beautiful colors that coordinate with Lots O' Dots. While some of the elements are perfect for springtime, others work perfectly in the summer, too. I picked out lots of the florals and little critters along with the sun and cute house motifs. They look adorable on my spread.
I used both the Icons and Mini Icons to decorate the pages. I love layering the stickers over the boxes. This gives me space to write, but softens the lines of the calendar.

Choosing die cuts from the Odds and Ends pack is always fun. I decided to use this cute sun and adhered it to the top right corner. I thought the flower, tucked onto her, made it look extra summery! Another thing I like to do on my calendar pages is use border stickers to block off days. Here I used  the purple and pink ones from the This and That sticker page. The purple one shows the week I was at the beach and the pink one blocks off an upcoming weekend away. This techniques allows me to look at my calendar and instantly see which days are free!

Now for the pocket. I'm currently without a sewing machine, so I decided to make one that wouldn't need stitching. I cut the paper the length of the TN insert. Then, I folded it in half and trimmed it so that the width was the same. I folded the bottom corners in, leaving a point at the bottom.
In order to keep the flaps folded in, I secured some planner clips that I'd previously made from Doodlepops. This holds the whole pocket together! I tucked in a few things that I like to carry with me and can use it to hold receipts or note papers. As you can see from the front, the folded part of the pocket lets part of my cute insert decoration peep through. I finished it off with some stickers from the This and That sheet. It was so quick and easy to make and gives me some extra storage space in my notebook!

As you can see, the Simply Spring collection doesn't just need to be for the spring. I created some fun, summery designs for my Lots O'Dots Daily Doodle and love how colorful it is. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
